  • May i know what format is recommended for Nikon D90 video ? (ex: JPEG , RAW, etc)

  • I like the last one the most, love that extra burst of blue :)

  • hey buddy whats that last video mode called that makes it look so cinematic ??

  • nikno d90 video is crap! go for sony or canon full hd video recording capability

  • The first one looks almost washed out, the second one looks nice, but the 3rd one is amazing.

  • The 1st one is good for winter clips.

the 3rd is good for normal capturing and such.

  • You should totally use the AE-L while filming

  • Second was best!

  • this is exactly why i want this camera wow

  • perfect!

  • wow, all of the grades look nice.

  • after effects, correct?

  • How do you change the color? is that lens or editing?

  • how do you program the focus?

  • can you do this effect with d5000?

  • What WB did they use at 0:17?

  • the first one was incandescent. i think the last one could be fluorescent.

  • theres only seven preset wb setting on d90. so try them all.

  • wow, I love the focus on it

  • how did you do the second on? what kinda color correction did you put on it?

  • awesome, beautiful, unbelievable.

  • how do ypu make this effect? (color)

  • its simple, you hold down the W/B button as you scroll to which white balance you want, while on video mode,

CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG, but im 100%!! sure this is correct

  • Can someone please tell me this; A) Do you seriously have to hold down the AE-L/ AF-L button to prevent auto exposure when in video mode and B) How did you get the 2;35 (or is it 1;1;85?) aspect ratio? In the edit? Cheers!

  • i dont own one yet, but am gonna pick one up.. i saw on the tutorial on the nikon site that there is an AE-L lock option so you don't have to hold it down. im not 100% sure

  • hey, i have a d90 and no you just press the ae-l/af-l button once and it will hold. unpress it and it will find the right exposure again. you just have to go to control menu and choose auto exp -(hold) so that it programs the button to hold exposure when pressed. u can also program focus hold aswell.

  • This is amazing for a camera, that film maker is jealous, he paid 1,500 more at least for those beautiful 24p video shots

  • how did you add the shades on the corner on the last footage? is this done by the lens? i'm talikg about the encinema look with circle shades on the corner?

  • i'm definitely getting one. awesome!

  • you can actually change the color tint straight to the camera and save the footage?

  • yes.

  • you can tell when the frame ends

  • This slr is not good in doing film, as flim-maker we know

  • You've got a point there...but shooting something simple and clean shouldn't be a problem wiht the D90

    :D

  • i own the d90, as well an assortment of other cameras and video cameras.. and in my opinion the d90 is an absolutley horrible camera for an kind of video (besides maybe a static video where the frame is not moving at all)

i understand that it is a first of its kind, and a wonderful SLR in itself but it has nasty jello shakes, bad manual functions and nearly impossible to keep stable.

wait for nikon's next generation to fix the flaws.

i love it as a camera, but wait

  • i also own the D90 and think with the use of a tripod or steady cam, a good lens, and some good direction, that the D90 can be used to make very professional looking films. personally i'll use mine for short films, and ads, and use my HV20 with dof adapter for bigger projects. It's light, handy, and does the job if you know what you're doing.

  • what about d5000?

  • d5000 sux might as well spend that little bit more and get the d90

  • well my cousin got one recently and i use it all the time, its awesome to me..

spose it depend's on the person really..

ofcourse the d90's better film wise, but there both relatively the same photographically.

    i'll be happy with either..

  • Don't know why people are giving your comment

thumbs down. What you said is true! It's a real pain to shoot video with the D90. No auto focus and to manually have to focus on a moving object

is really hard. Also , If you forget to lock AE your

    going to get bad exposure.

  • its an awesome nikon D90 features.

reminder. it is a dslr. not a gigantic/bulky camcorder for film maker. just an add on for users to express their creativity (other than photography) with their dslr.

is there any other dslr manufacturer put this video recording feature on?

  • all 3 colors looks awesome D90 is really awesome even it takes very good pics

  • I like the yellow tint. Just beautiful.

  • u must know..this is camera are camcorder format..

  • FOR EVERYBODY TO KNOW, THE CAMERA DOESN'T HAVE MANUAL EXPOSURE, THOSE INDIES FILMMAKERS WILL BE DISSAPOINTED. IT HAS AN OPTION "LOCK" EXPOSURE FEATURE...but that just kill it to me. You cannot actually set up a exposure number or fStop. There are ways around it. But I rather get myself a 35 mm adapter with my video camera.

  • you can just get a manual prime.

    with aperture ring on it.

    right?

  • Is there no manual Iris? I see blooming.

  • :O

everyone watch it in HD, click the link under the views.

    oh my god.. its amazing

  • In video mode, are there manual exposure settings as well as an auto exposure?

  • no sound?

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! this is incredible!!!

    the shooting is greatttttt

d 90 will change the world of video shooting.its even better than a 8000$ camcorder.its quite pro.and the most impotartant part is the"24 fps jpeg" if u are not into this,u cant know how important to shoot 24 fps.its full cinematograpic.

    i cant imagine shooting with a 50 mm f:1:4lens.

    thank you so much nikon.

  • What idiot thought that a market intrested in HD video wouldn't care about crap sound? All it needed was a mic input, but no they decided on three little holes in the camera body offering mobile phone type quality. Its a glaring mistake that will become more and more obvious to everyone as time gos on.

  • you can always have a separate sound recorder and then sync your sound in post. not that uncommon...

  • AE lock anyone? Tell me that you can do it... please! :o

  • what did you use to color grade this? MB Looks?

  • 3-way color corrector in Final Cut Pro.

  • and added a vignette to the last pass

  • a digital camera shot this one? wow

  • A DSLR camera shot this one... in 720HD! I can't wait to have one ;)

  • its not just a digital camera!

    its the new nikon d90.

    a dslr to be exact.

  • yo man...JUST when i was about to drop $2600 on a Panasonic DVX-100B....I am SOO GLAD this is out - now you got affordable 24p!!...with a mega assortment of lenses. man i'm making a movie with a bunch of D90's! LOL.

  • that was awesome. i liked the look of the 2nd one

  • WOW
