Insulators do the same thing no matter where you are; they (attempt to) block outside conditions from entering your body. Not to mention, getting hotter is still a huge concern in both the Sahara and the South Pacific.

Davechandler wake up to yourself theres a huge difference between the Sahara sand and Island sand island sand is obviously alot cooler then Sahara sand so if you used Sahara sand you'd just be doing yourself more harm where as island sand its alot cooler which keeps your body cooler

Can i just say, i've noticed he says sand is a really good insulator when he's making the oven for the fish, Yet when in the savannah he says that sand is a notouriously bad insulator when making camp ^^.
