  • The story would be covered the same way it has been covered for years before and after aggregation, by a journo from the local news team interviewing their local elected reps and any visiting ministers to the area.

Giving coverage to elected representatives has decreased in recent years with most local newsrooms no longer delegating one reporter to political rounds and less opportunity for politicians in general.

Have a look at the account of hedgeswj - local 'access' segments now long gone.

  • WIN's Federal Politics (sic) reporter? Can't really see the need for that in a local news bulletin. A journo in each newsroom should be assigned to the round of following Federal matters specific to their area.

2:05 - how funny, WIN goes all Sunrise jokesy!

  • And how do those said journalists interview thir local MPs when they are in Canberra ... or holds the government to account for the local issues the major networks don't cover? Or go to press conferences to ask ministers what their plans are for your local area? Come on know-it-all how would it work without someone in Canberra? All those people in that story were from Rockhampton ... compiled in Canberra for Rockhampton ... how could a Rockhampton based reporter file this report?
