you chose upgrade when he chose coustom advanced option but most of windows xp software is incompatiblle w vista and if it tries 2 keep any of that then it can harm the computer so i dont recomend it.
try logging in in safe mode ( keep pressing F8 after booting up your pc ) using the administrator profile then change your password in the control panel / user accounts.
if i upgrde this, it will be dual boot?

when u do the upgrade u ned a backup system so u can put it on ur usb in save ur file or ....ect.
