  • añadi letra en castellano por favor porque me pierdo, gracias

  • THIS IS SO FUCKING GENIUS. Why 42 people don't get the message??

  • Song's name is "Strange Fruit FOR David" or "Strange Fruit OR David"?

  • that voice is painful

  • Pucka

  • the song is wonderful. the video could do with a little more...direction. it does nothing at all to accentuate the excellent weirdness of the lyrics. soz.

  • never heard of these before

    they are really good

  • never heard of these before

    they are really good

  • 6 stars!!!!!!!

  • lol i came upon your floor

  • The Killers? Ahahah, why? Where? Cannot understand, really.

    regards from Zaragoza (Spain)

  • you are in that case a moron

  • No, YOU are a moron, bitch.

  • no seriously you are a moron, repeating my insult (although its not so much an insult more of a conclusion based on your comment) makes you more of an idiot aswell.

  • These guys don't get nearly as much recognition as they deserve. THEIR TALENT MAKES ME CRY.

  • I asked a friend what he thought the lyrics to the chorus mean, and he said "they mean that somebody has done a foundation course in aesthetics."

Which I thought was amusing. Still, sounds good though...

  • what an awesome song. it made me realize that there are so many awesome song that I don't know about yet ...

  • absolutely the best new music I've heard all year! TWP, damn, boys. You make me cry with this song, harking back to the days I'd sit shut in in my room hanging on every word of Meat is Murder. This song a bit Morressey-like but happy, very fun and happy. Come to Japan!!!!

  • Yo La Tengo's Stockholm Syndrome...

  • is this filmed in Duke of Uke, off Brick Lane?

  • cool song wicked video nice 1

  • aww the drummer is such a lovely person. I met the band last night and they're quite shy. The drummer is so polite and apologetic. He even asked what me and my friend's names were which I thought was remarkably polite!

  • i love the drummer!!! so cool!

  • didn't know there was a vid for this song fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love the guys voice somewhat hefner like

  • fucking superb. I love love love this band..this song ahhh its brilliant i tell you! If only they came to SF..!

  • One of the great voices in contemporary music - filled St James Church, Piccadilly, last Thursday without a vocal mic.

  • love his voice!!!

  • i agree, great voice

  • These lyrics aren't actually his, the opening line's from John Fante's Ask the Dust and "I was working the hole with the sailor" is from Burroughs the soft machine. Perhaps its a tribute to all his favourite books. Sure there's a bukowski line in there, too. Good cut-up.

  • hmmmmm....

  • The drummer is so crazy lol

  • yay timemachine 40 years backwards xD

  • sounds like a hippie-song or sth....;P

    pretty nice.

  • ALSO y does the lead singer look so familiar???

  • I love this :D

  • :) LOVE it...

im going to have "a sculpture is a sculpture" in my head for DAYS!

  • Strange lyrics.

  • AWESOME"!

  • the lyrics a pretty random but i think thats what makes this a great song!

  • whiney voice

  • People either hate it, or really like it...

    I think its pretty neat!

  • very morrisey sounding..

Unusual, quirky I loved it :)... Talent

  • that was pretty bad....

  • cudnt agree more

  • I like it! Its a good tune

  • Try this video:

    watch?v=w43NEM5nElc

"My first video on YouTube get national press"

  • wow, your lyrics are....unusual...

  • Brilliant song. If you have trouble with the lyrics, check out Zoe Leonard's 'Strange Fruit for David' and Magritte's 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe'. And then think a bit.

  • This is awful, just awful. Out of time, out of tune instruments, mostly flat singing, unoriginal, generic load of bollocks.

  • I don't think it's ever out of time.

  • You are right, jaybullen - it's never out of time. But, then, the instruments aren't out of tune and the vocals aren't flat either. Maybe BGarcia02 was watching a different video and got in a muddle.

  • During that stupid marmalade bit, the drums are lagged, it's really poorly organized. It's also really wooden, obviously multi-tracked in a studio, there's no feeling to it because they aren't actually playing together. I don't know how crap like this gets featured.

  • Mentalmoomin: I agree. Others have made the connection e.g. Time Out: "If you like funny, witty, insightful lyrics about shoeshops and unrequited love...well, you must be really disappointed by Morrissey's solo output. Fortunately, the infinitely more likeable Wave Pictures step into the breach..."

BGarcia02: Why do you keep returning to something you neither like nor understand?

MBCsi: Can you explain your appalling phrase 'generic folk shite'?

  • I only keep returning because people reply to the things I'm saying and I feel I should respond.

  • waaack

  • GREAT!!!

  • pretty average song, so it's bound to be a big hit!

  • Shame about the lyrics, I really enjoyed the music, I wish the song delivered a message also.

  • hi,if your into your music why dond you check out my band.wev lots of songs to offer and cover most styles of music.wev just got the one on at the moment but im posting another tonight and will do most nights this week.cheers

  • lol.fuck me dead guys.i thought my band were nuts.and i spose a,,nevermind fuck it.lol

  • what is all this food and crap got do do with the shit video,shite.................a big load of shite

  • im love the chorus! but it isnt marmalade, made me laugh :) bt the oranges bit made me think of the llama song, u know random lyrics nd all that? like it though

  • "What the fuck do these lyrics even mean?! "

It's 2008 dude, lyrics don't have to MEAN anything.

  • lmao so true

  • oh thanks...it's 2008. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • good, melodious music but the lyrics are poor..get yourself a good lyricist and you may go places

  • What the fuck do these lyrics even mean?!

  • really catchy ,but monotonously strange lyrics

  • ..been done before. Except this has really appalling lyrics.

  • You mean to say folk has been done before?

  • yes.

  • its ok

  • The self conscious wackiness kind of undermined it. Good song though.

  • kewl

  • Try this video:

    watch?v=w43NEM5nElc

  • Bit pretentious. Nice violin though...

  • HAHA

  • it's the marmalade bit that makes me like it...

  • this was too random for me to make my mind up about it :S Nice sound, but lyrics?!? lol

i'll watch it afew more times ;)

  • Hey check my song 'Daydreamer' put to the film 'The Notebook'

    Todd Reeves

    pls leave a comment

  • the vocalist's voice would sound good in some Gothrock or Post-Punkrock

  • my names david :D

  • cool song *****

  • Awesome! And the chorus about the sculpture is the best bit!

  • My cock could do better.

  • you really shouldn't post music videos in mono, it only takes a second to change the video render settings to stereo. you're doing yourselves no favours posting it in a sub standard format. It's a good song, nice and quirky and lyrically interesting.

  • Actually youtube is weird and converts everything to mono unless you render your video normally, then convert it to flash. I dont know how many people know about that though.

Stereo does sound alot better though (obviously)

  • all my videos are done in stereo and are on youtube in stereo. There was no need for me to adjust any settings or convert it to flash. I simply render the videos to 128kbps stereo and that's it

  • This song is brilliant!!

  • hmmmm good!

  • tbh good for you BUT!

    i like far out stuff!

but the chorus about the sculpture fucks this song up! seriously!

  • The opening line:

"I was a young man starving and drinking and trying to become a writer"

is taken from "Ask The Dust" by John Fante.

Anyway, this is my #1 single at the moment. I posted that comment earlier but it isn't here.
