It was spread by ticks, meaning the character was not truly sick. or at-least, that's what I thought.

wow.. well done, I have to say. I agree with the one saying that he would watch it it if they can make a whole movie out of it. I find the Dr Beak's facinating. Somehow very mysterious. Actually I'm sewing my own Dr Beak from Rome costume.

now two questions, if anyone knows/can tell...

1.was the main character a man or a woman? the narrator was obviously a woman, but was that the doctor without their mask on?

2. a little help with clearing up the plot

@henoji777 Well, if you saw the part where the main character takes off the mask, it's a guy. Also, just pay attention to what the subtitles are saying. I thought the story was quite clear: The narrator was the man's wife telling him about what's happened and how she's waiting to see him.
