I'm just buying a new computer, mostly for video editing. Is the iMac (All in one) that we see in this video strong enough for smooth editing of HD videos from DSLR-s?? Please help =)

@MikeMyer150 You can't order it from apple with 16, but it has four 8gb ram slots so you can buy your own and put it in. I would get the standard 4gb and add to it no matter what, as Apple charges a lot from ram.

it's not the problem of c2d and i5...the problem is the HD...in the mini, the HD is old and 2,5inch maybe (5400rpm)...in .the imac there is new HD and it is 3,5(7200rpm)!!!!! this is the problem!!! obviusly the MAC mini's startup is so long than the iMac's startup!!!!

Thanks for that I have had a G5 for a while but it is old with a 1.8 single processor as I am retiring soon I want to get back into serious photography and need a bit more power is in your opinion the new 2011 mac mini up to the task as I really like my current Acer monitor and it seems to be nice and compact PC I always store my images externally so the hard drive size is not vital but I need to be able to use pro editing software for batch image processing.

@cmfsimlover No offence mate, but it's standard for any desktop pc aswell. basically what you want to do is locate a display input (DVI, HDMI etc.) plug in the corresponding cable, and plug the other end into your monitor.

i think your mac mini doesngt know what drive its booting from, since you reformatted the drive. notice how the apple logo takes a while to appear... go to system preferences, startup disc, and select macintosh hd. this might resolve the problem, as the computer might be looking for network drives to boot from.
