  • It sure as hell deserved it. It's an awsome movie!

  • All he did was produce it. Why the hell is he acting like it's his movie?

  • why do the Coen Brothers always look confused?

  • I love Tommy Lee Jones so much, his acting is outstanding ... but he sure is one miserable fuck isn't he? :D

  • Frances McDormand looks so happy!

  • LOVED this movie!

  • 2007 was one of the best and toughest years of the decade. The Diving bell and the Butterfly , There will be Blood , Michael Clayton , No Country for Old Men.....Amazing )

  • there will be blood was robbed

  • @sippingwhisky totes

  • Like Robert Ebert said, There Will Be Blood is very good and ambitious with flaws. But No Country For Old Men is perfect and has no flaws. It deserved best picture.

  • @Tigerlily21 TWBB is just as good as NCFOM, can't split them.

  • @Tigerlily21 No country had flaws alot of flaws.

  • @Tigerlily21 The opinion of one critic doesn't mean it's legitimately better

  • @renfieldvonklauss It's about more than a guy stealing money and being chased. Are you serious? Did you see the way the main character exits the film? Did you see that ending? It's about the world seeming to become more corrupt and violent to the old man in the story. It's very relevant.

  • Stfu and let the real men behind you talk.

I know what the rules are like, but fucks sake. A producer does nothing.

  • @roflmaodue They already won twice before that so they already made two speeches.

  • Scott Rudin co-produced the 2 best movies of the year No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood and it's awesome that he was easily gonna win an Oscar for producing either one of them.

  • @MichaelChapman18 Atonement was a strong possibility to win.

  • @renfieldvonklauss Couldnt agree more , There will be blood was a character driven movie , and DDL gives a performance of a lifetime. how many more time is PTA going to get robbed.

  • Should have been either "Atonement" (which won the BAFTA and Golden Globe Best Picture, by the way) or "There Will Be Blood"

  • 0:12 Is that Cormac? Sure as hell loks like him.

  • @cantstandya2 Yes, it is. A rare public appearance.

  • there will be blood is incredible, but no country for old men is a truly a masterpiece, it certainly belongs in my top ten

  • Cormac McCarthy makes some great novels.

  • Cormac McCarthy makes some badass novels.

  • I definitely enjoy watching There Will Be Blood more than No Country for Old Men, but with that said, I certainly think the right movie won.

  • Assasination of jesse james by the coward robert ford deserved it.

  • One of the worst movies to ever win an Oscar. Just pretentious shit from two directors who feel like they shit gold. They are two brilliant directors with a multitude of movies that deserved actors, but that doesn't mean that they should get an Oscar for some pessimistic piece of shit.

Gimmicky shit for people who think they're smarter than they actually are.

  • @Carthsgtr Thanks for the wonderful list of references and facts to back up such a well thought out opinion.

  • @Carthsgtr what peice of shit movie?? this was one of the best acting ive seen and great it was such a great story

  • @Carthsgtr You are clearly a moron who doesen't know shit about movies. Thank you very much for your opinion. We couldn't care less.

  • @Shyreenify It's a good movie, but probably the most overrated of the decade.

  • There Will Be Blood has the better performance (Day-Lewis) and possibly the better directing, but No Country is the better overall film. Editing, writing, acting, directing. Everything is just as top-notch as it gets.

  • Ugh, No country for old men was good and all, but There will be blood was an amazing film with an amazing actor.

  • Imo personally there will be blood's acting was better but no country for old men was a more solid film. It just had a better story and left me more in awe. There will be blood had amazing acting and an amazing scene.

  • OMG is that cormac mccarthy at 0:12

  • @09smithl most definitely

  • PT Anderson got robbed... AGAIN! I love the Coens but damn There Will be blood is one the best movies Ive ever seen.

  • Comment removed

  • The best part about this video is the awkward elevator music played since No Country doesn't have a soundtrack.

  • @Roomx237 I wouldn't expect the Oscars to just have the winners walk up to no music, wouldn't be the same. I love the elevator music actually, almost wish it was used in the film during the credits

  • @Roomx237 The music they are playing is actually played in the credits of the film.

  • @Roomx237 Haha. I suppose the bad ass credit song would have freaked everyone too much.

  • Ethan: I think we won...

    Joel: Oh, we did?

    Ethan: Yeah.

    Joel: Okay...

  • PTA robbed mate

  • INTO THE WILD = biggest snob

  • @alexlundell um i think you meant snub and i don't mean to insult your intelligence or opinion but into the wild was sloppily directed by Sean Penn, i felt he was trying too hard to be something hes not which is a director, i knew it meant a lot to him he wrote directed and produced it but his constantly zooming in and out and other camera techniques he used made me almost dislike the film entirely, i didn't like the main character either he seemed more arrogant and nihilistic than a hero

  • They should have cut the award in two and given both films the award

  • @austinthebookworm5 LOL yes.

  • Scott Rudin says of the Coens that "i can't think of anybody i'd rather be standing here with"

uhhh....the other guy whose movie you produced Paul Thomas Anderson? how must he feel with you saying that?

  • Scott Rudin says of the Coens that "i can't think of anybody i'd rather be standing here with"

uhhh....the other guy whose movie you produced Paul Thomas Anderson? how must he feel with you saying that?

    fat bastard

  • @SeducerOfTheHomeless He was the executive producer.

  • The best film of the 00's.

  • partner? gross!

  • @TheZooDork yes, you are.. and ignorant!!

you should congratulate yourself " pat on the back"

  • No country for old men was the SECOND best movie of the year... behind Michael Clayton

  • those coens dont say much.

  • When I was watching this movie with my father , I was bored . And I fell asleep , and when I woke Up I asked my father about the movie and he told me that I'm not gonna understand it , He told me to rewatch it when I'll be 30 , then I'll know that he's fully deserved that oscar

    Is he right ?

  • Indeed, Oscar Channel, you gotta upload the Coens' wins for directing "No Country" and writing "Fargo"

  • 1:41 he calls a man "honey"....i'm to old to understand this country

  • No Country for Old Men > The Assassination of Jesse James > There Will Be Blood.

  • I think "There Will Be Blood" should have won that year, but both were masterpieces.

  • .In my opinion Best Picture --> No Country for Old Men Best achievment in directing --> There Will Be Blood

  • WTF!

Rudin doesn't even give the coen brothers a chance to say something, wow talk how self centered they adapted the screenplay, co-produced and directed the film and he just pushed them to the sidelines!

  • @foxmarkowski I believe it's because the Coens already went on stage for director and screenplay...

  • @foxmarkowski It's because the Coens already went on stage to recieve best director and screenplay

  • @foxmarkowski They clearly said to him that he should give the speech.

  • javier bardem

    and

    daniel day lewis

    LEGENDs unboolievable acting

    rocking fillums

  • 0:09 WOW win an oscar while martin scoserse claps, the bigest honor for a film maker. :)

  • @BIGBARTWAR Dude, they are the Coens!

  • @BIGBARTWAR exactly

  • You should upload the Coens winning best Screenplay for ''Fargo'' which was their best movie ;)

  • upload the coens winning an oscar

  • Scott Rudin is also producer on There Will Be Blood. So it is his Oscar either way.

  • No counrty was great for its tense moments which is basically the whole movie.Bad endinng though.I also recommend Midnight Express for those who have not seen it.GREAT MOVIE!

  • I didn't care much for No Country For Old Men. I really wanted to like it, though. I love the Coen's Brothers' movies.

The Big Lebowski is my favorite...

  • my whole problem with that year was that films like "Zodiac" and "Diving bell" and "Assasination of Jesse James" weren't nominated, but instead, they had Michael Clayton (good film but nothing new) and Juno (allright film but the dialogue was soooo annoying).

  • What is Martin Scorsese doing behind them? 0:09

  • @MrIcwiener i think he won best director for the departed a year before but thats just a guess as to why

  • When they announced Joel and Ethan, they were both like "Oh, ok"

  • Scott Rudin is legendary as perhaps the most abusive producer to his assistants that exists today. And he's proud of it. I've read stories that are incredible. It's amazing these people stay there and put up with it, granted the payoff is huge as far as experience goes and for a resume. I also know he's a faggot. How humiliating it must be for these assistants to stand there and be verbally abused to the point of tears by this pudgy, balding, abrasive megalomanical cocksucker.

  • @dzanier The assistants put up with it, because the payoff is not huge it's way way more. Rudin absolutely legendary and one of the most powerful people in hollywood, say anything negative about him to the wrong person - you're never working in hollywood.

He's probably the most known producer in Hollywood with a quick and fierce temper, but he's definitely not the only one. There are tons. You put up with it if want to stay in the business and not burn any bridges. :)

  • @dzanier could you please share some links to those stories

  • I would really love to see the Coen Brothers winning the best director award...

  • Can you please upload the Coen Brothers winning Best Director?

  • not to get people angry, this is just a comment, i really didnt like this movie.

  • @Dullfang2 it's your personal preference. i think it's one of the best movies i've ever seen :)

  • They should have given best director to the Coen's and Best picture to PTA's There will be blood. I cant believe that the score for There will be blood wasn't even nominated, it adds sooo much to the epic feel of the film

  • As brilliant as this was and make no mistake this is one of the best films ever made, There Will Be Blood was better. Then again Paul Dano not getting nominated was a joke. As was There Will Be Bloods score despite the fact Lord of the fucking rings won for musical score despite being the same fucking music 3 movies running. As you can probably tell I despise all the big 2 recent winners (Titanic LOTR) just drivelling nonsense.

  • @iloveneytiri I agree with almost everything you said, but I'd still give it to No Country by a nose over There Will Be Blood. A very, very small nose. Both movies are incredible, and it's almost unfair to put them against one another.

Paul Dano was brilliant. I remember at the end, after the bowling alley scene, just being completely stunned by it.

I can't stand Titanic or LOTR either. Sometimes Oscar gets it very, very wrong.

  • @iloveneytiri

Do not mock the LOTR score...

    I will kill you.

  • @iloveneytiri There Wil Be Blood did have an excellent score, but wasn't eligible for an Oscar due to a rule banning pre-existing material. Jonny Greenwood (who is great) blended in some older material so it wasn't 100% original. It was great though.

  • There will be Blood > No Country for Old Men

  • @Darthmonk3y wrong

  • @Darthmonk3y No.

  • @Darthmonk3y I disagree. I didn't even think There will be blood was that good. Daniel Day Lewis was great, but it was just whack. I think No Country is a great movie.

  • @Darthmonk3y How about you give them both credit.

    They were both awesome

  • @Darthmonk3y I don't think so. There will be Blood is told in such a quiet, non-chalaunt way. If the whole film was as powerful as the last half hour or so, it would be an oscar winning film, but speaking as a film person myself, I don't think it was as good.

  • Coens are some crazy BAMFs

  • no country and there will be blood are fantastic movies.......... wasnt the assasination of jesse james out this yr too because that was amazing too casey affleck was outstanding

  • No Country For Old Men is fucking awesome. It totally deserved that Oscar!!!

  • Why are there no videos of the coen brothers speech?..they've won best directors and best screenplay...

  • some people though juno was the best of this year, well juno was awesome for it's screenplay, which it won for, and there will be blood was amazing for it's Actor, which it won for

  • If it were any other year I would have been completely satisfied...but It had to be the year There Will Be Blood was nominated. :(

  • My Fav. Movie of ALL TIME!!!

  • CORMAC IS THERE!!!!

  • No Country is indeed one of the best movies to come out in the last 20 years. There Will Be Blood and No Country coming in the same year? What a treat for movie lovers. PT Anderson and the Coens are just geniuses.

  • they are pure geniuses and truly men of few words!

  • Could you post the Coens' Best Director win for this movie?

  • WOW, the Cohen brothers didn't looked shocked. they're so cool...

  • This movie was chillier than thrillers.I almost shit my pants.:-)Javier was wwooooow

  • There will be blood is the masterpiece really everything about that film is perfect.

  • @chanceie12 There both amazing, 2007 was a really good year for film. 2 modern classics were made !

  • I'd like to see how most people would compare TWBB and NCFOM if one of them didn't win the oscar. I'd bet it'd be more even.

  • I'd like to see how most people would compare TWBB and NCFOM if one of them didn't win the oscar. I'd bet it'd be more even.

  • I'd like to see how most people would compare TWBB and NCFOM if one of them didn't win the oscar. I'd bet it'd be more even.

  • No country for old men was terrfic, and so was Atonement, but No country is better

  • No country deserved it

There will be blood, while it is a great film, just doesnt hold up in some way.

I do love both films though and it is a very close race between the two

  • NCFOM is probably the WORST best picture since American Beauty. The worst indy movie ever. What was the Academy thinking?

  • @clevelandphil Is this a joke ? No country and American beauty are two of the most acclaimed films of the last 25 years, both are universally considered great.

  • @kthevsd american beauty sucks

  • @dontleademsomuch American Beauty was a complex perspective into a the simple everyday life of normal people, anchored by a great performance by Kevin Spacey and Annette Benning. How does a movie that won 4 academy awards and recieve critical acclaim "suck."

  • fuck you and get the fuck off youtube you dont know anything about movies

  • No Country For Old Men=There Will Be Blood=Masterpieces

  • I can't really choose between No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood.

  • @Bumblestick You could not be more wrong..... but I do love TWBB!

  • There will be blood was the better movie, but No Country was good as well.

  • I was really pissed that this movie won, instead of There Will Be Blood. No Country for Old Men was was good, but TWBB was a masterpiece, NCFOM was not.

  • The Coen brothers are just really shy ha ha. And this is in front of such a large audience. But they were really happy to win. Ethan said it.

  • Is that Francis McDormand in the middle at 1:20

  • Still on the fence about this Oscar, There Will Be Blood was great but No Country For Old Men was Great.I liked both these films I also liked Miachel Clayton and Juno the only bad nomanee was Atonement. I wish they would have thrown an Oscar PT Andersons way tho

  • Oh yeah he doesn say there wll be blood at 0:12 , and i agree should have won!!

  • Everybody jump arround like retards "OMG OMG !", except the coen brothers... Which have the most calm, smart and modest attitude. I admire these men.

  • Everybody jump arround like retards "OMG OMG !", except the coen brothers... Which have the most calm, smart and modest attitude. They don't even say a word. I admire these men.

  • The Coen brothers didnt say a word!! Whats up with that?

  • @yolie20 they already won right before so they already thanked people

  • @yolie20 They made their speeches for Best Director

  • @yolie20 watch best director award!

  • Top 4 movies of 2007 in my opinion are No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Zodiac and Assasination Of Jesse James..All of them featured great cast members..having 1 out of the 4 films winning the Best Picture is fair enough..

  • @TheHunkIsSprunk- I agree as well (Although, strangely enough, I haven't seen Assasination of Jesse James) but NCFOM, Zodiac and There Will Be Blood are great films.

  • Lol, the Coen brothers are so serious.

  • Someone post the Coens director speech when Joel was just like, "I don't have a lot to add to what I said earlier, thank you"

  • No Country was one of the best movies in the last ten years. The ending is one of the main reasons why. The good guys dont always win.

  • @Iletarm- Definitely. Such a twist even I was surprised by its ending and I loved it.

  • 0:12 - the old guy behind the guy clapping: "There will be blood is best"

    i agree

  • yea, except he wrote the damn novel sonny

  • There Will Be Blood should of won Best Picture.....but if it couldn't be Blood...No Country is the next best thing.

  • My pick is Michael Clayton.

  • Maybe cuz it was set in 1980, but It reminded me of a 1970's tv movie, like the one's I watched as a kid. It was good, but I hated the ending. No closure, and to me, a stupid way to end it. If so many movies weren't such shit today, like rock bands, it wouldn't of got the props it did, similar to how we wouldn't be having 65yr olds playing the Super Bowl halftime show. No offense to The Who, just making a point.

  • This would be the best movie ive seen in many years! This is film making at its very best! Not like this gay Avatar movie crap. No hidden messages or hidden agenda's and trying to corrupt our kids.

  • @FelixMarshall1 just obvious senseless murder to corrupt our kids.

  • no country for old men was really good but there will be blood deserved the oscar more in my opinion. And Fargo still remains my fav coen brothers movie.

  • no country for old men sucked any of the other movies can kick it's ass any day of the week

  • @whitesoxbuff are you stupid or what? maybe you don't liked it but still being a great movie :D

  • Fargo should've won, big time. Also Big Lebowski should've been nominated for some stuff. And this is one of the best film s of the decade, but There Will Be Blood is THE BEST film of the decade.

  • are you fuckin jokin there will be blood was a huge pile of WANK

  • There Will Be Blood sucked!

  • I want to see when they won best director! So funny when Ethan's just like "I don't have a lot to add to what I said earlier.Thank you"

  • Comment removed

  • I liked There Will Be Blood MUCH BETTER!!!

  • this is possibly the best movie of the 21st century so far. this year in general was fantastic for movies. why not change the best pic race to 10 this year? oh wait - because its a dumb idea in general

  • Atonement was robbed!!!

  • You're joking. The only other film nominated as good as No Country...was There Will Be Blood.

Wall-E and Dark Knight were the ones actually robbed as the Oscars fear nominating them.

  • Comment removed

  • The only nominee i haven't seen is Atonement. NCFOM is the best film of all time!

  • i mean Juno was OK, but Old Men really deserved this shit

  • best films of the 2000s:

1- No Country For Old Men

    2- There Will Be Blood

    3- The Departed

    4- Wall-E

    5- Ratatouille

  • Gotta put Minority Report up there.

  • NO. lmao.

  • No Country is the best film of the 2000s

  • @TheNapalmDude My god! You forgot The Prestige and The Dark Knight.

  • @TheNapalmDude Gladiator,The Lord of the Rings,The Departed and others...all of them are better.

  • @TheNapalmDude Gladiator,The Lord of the Rings,The Departed and others are better.

  • @Deancho

    I agree !

  • @TheNapalmDude Lord of the rings1,2,3,The dark knight,The pianist,The Departed, gladiator,Million dollar baby, memento??They're better man.

  • @mastermovies10000

    I totally agree !

  • i thought it was an awesome movie, it was quiet for most of the time but you just have to watch and listen and you will understand wats goin on

  • this movie was bloody awesome.... awesome....

  • Atonement, There Will Be Blood, and No Country are all miles ahead of Juno... and Juno (that i still like a lot) is 100 MILES AHEAD OF Michael Clayton
