  • Hes fit! I'm watching The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse. Great movie!!!

  • is it me or does he look like Matt Le Blanc from Friends?

  • look at the arms on this dude 3:34 way before pumping iron was vogue. Also notice the wrist watch (trend setting at the time) I guess even in the desert a sheik needed to ascertain the time

  • @buzzbaybear LOL....he is indeed wearing a wrist watch in this picture. I have seen other shots of him wearing a similar watch. And yes, those arms are like anacondas! That dude was buff!

  • if this is rape then I'm the reincarnation of Michael Jackson

  • I can certainly see what drove women wild about him some 90 something years ago.He was extremely hot.Great face and amazing body.

  • holy shit. there is no rape when it comes to rudy.

  • @Invincnerd Haha!!! SO true!!! ;-)

  • Sighhhhh! I was born 30 years too late!!!

  • Where can I get a hold of this film? :)

  • Any actor, that men are jealous of, that do not have a past of drugs, violence, etc; to pin on them...Are automatically labeled gay or bi sexual...they have to have something to put on them, to 'get even' with someone they would never be, or adored like, or ADMIRED like.....Valentino, James Dean, so on and so forth....

  • @whysoserious89 They're just jealous because Valentino was Hollywood's first sex symbol, takes an Italian to do it right I suppose, but on a related note, isn't Vin Diesel gay?

  • I think she's got a hard role. Many womens just couldn't hit Valentino when he kissed their ;D

  • Did he rape her at the end?

  • God, Valentino was beautifu, and a great actor of his time. This is awesome!

  • Ooh ;-) I never expected him to be quite so sexy.

  • what was the time setting for this movie? Was it okay for him to wear a watch??? Or did they simply forget about it?

  • @heelrunner He was a modern-day sheik (for the 1920's), so he could wear a wristwatch or use any other modern conveniences, if available. Although I have seen this film many times, I just noticed a couple of days ago that Yasmin's father, Andre', uses Absinthe at the very beginning of the film, when they describe his group of renegades. I think they threw this in to emphasize how decadent these people were. Absinthe had already been banned in the US at this time--still illegal in the US.

  • My idol and my guiding light. Go valentino.

  • At 3:52 it looks like she says "You bitch!"

    I laughed.

  • @fishstick12345 In silent movies, you could say anything to your co-star, especially to help them emote according to the scene. I don't know if she said "you bitch", but it sure looks like she did. Whatever she did say, it had the intended effect. If you thought he was pissed off before, notice the change in his face. RV hated it when anyone intimated he was effeminate. No actor I've ever seen emoted being pissed off better than RV. I also liked the balcony scene when she throws the flower

  • @anderdorm In some scenes, he doesn't look entirely well, I think, especially around his eyes. You know he had to be in terrible pain sometimes based on what the doctors found when they operated on him.

  • Rudolph Valentino was so handsome...he has a beauty that surpasses that of actors today.

  • @SuperhumanChichi

Holy jumping fuck balls, what a hottie.

  • as soon as i saw him pull out the cigarette i knew that the guy meant business

  • At 4:15 through 4:28, why would you not want him to kiss you! Seriously!, and Natacha is stupid for not wanting kids with him! What woman wouldn't? He was so fricken hot!

  • @pastelpinkgirly reeeeeeeeeally good book...got quite a few pictures in it too....but a very good book.

  • so bad and charming smile at the same time 3:45

  • I wouldn't mind a hottie like that forcing himself on me.

  • @7544263 I totally agree with you! He was so hot!

  • To pastelpinkgirly, You will enjoy reading DARK LOVER . The author Emily W Leider did a great job. She actually went to Italy to his birth place to find family members. I think Valentino would have made it in the talkies, too bad. He had a strong belief about Doctors, that cost him his life. If he had gone to the doctor he would not have died at his young age.

  • Rudy is delicious. =D

  • I'm going to his grave in January. In a way, I'm meeting him.

  • The first interracial kisses between blackmen and whitewomen. That's another reason Valentino is the history of cinema.

  • @AlvaroRome89 What are u saying ? R.V. was whiteman. Are u blind ?

  • You're wrong. These movies are from 20's yrs. In that era the italians who came from the south were marked as niggers :) The americans called them "the european niggers" or "mozzarella niggers" and so many time the italian immigrants were subject to extreme prejudice, racism, and, in many cases, violence. Then he became a star. But when he arrived in Usa was simply a nigger like his other compatriots :)

  • @AlvaroRome89

lmfao, now that is funny! :P european niggers, huh. that's rich.

  • @GarlandJudyFan Yes, pretend to resist...to hell with it! Come and get me Rodolfo!

  • I have loved VALENTINO since age 12yrs. The best way I ever saw this movie was in a historic movie theather with live music. It was great to see VALENTINO on yhe big screen. I would say to any VALENTINO fan to read DARK LOVER, excellent account of VALENTINOS life. VALENTINO did not like the SKEIK image, asit type casted him. He actually was a good actor, with alot of potential of the talkies if he had not died on august 23,1926 at 1215p eastrn time. He was on tour to promote SON of the SHEIK.

  • OMG I love Rudolph Valentino! I can see why women killed themselves when he died. I have a cd that he is singing on--that's the only recorded sound of his voice. I've read the reason all the gay rumors began was because of his wrist watch. In the 20s I guess REAL men supposedly only wore pocket watches --silly. God he was beautiful and the reason I love gangster movies, italian singers and old italian songs. I'm not italian, but I love it all!!

  • @53JoDi I know what you mean Italian men seem to have that edge. For a start they dress really well - Rudy had amazing dress sense and bought all his own suits for his movies in the early films. He is wonderful in this movie - his last - but just watch him dance - the tango sequence from Four Horseman which you can find on Youtube, just amazing. I am obsessed with him - he is my fantasy - isn't it amazing that he can still do that to us women 80 years after his death. The power of the man!

  • Omg, he's so nice looking! I wonder what he looked like in person!

  • one more thing:

it just goes to show that you don't need alot of heavy bumpin and grinding scenes in a movie to arouse the passions in people. this movie drove alot of women in the 20's crazy and i can CLEARLY see why.

  • this movie was made close to a hundred years ago and to me its still one of the sexiest movies ever made.

  • You know..right in the middle of all this, she should have said..."Ok, let's go shopping and talk this thing out"...but no...the clawing and begging work him up to a big blue veiner...

The guy makes you want to hit the gym again...very fit.

This scene is actually great...I'd like to hear voices and a score with it.

  • I mention Valentino in The Celebrity Song.

  • @simikess Hardly...Rudolph Valentino was 100% heterosexual and worshipped women. Unfortunately, the lies printed about his sexuality started shortly after his death and continue to today.

  • @crupprecht1 - Thank you for actually speaking up! There's no real proof about Valentino's sexuality just like there wasn't proof about the "rumours" regarding Cary Grant. It's a load of balderdash and should all be ignored!

  • @crupprecht1 - Thank you for actually speaking up! There's no real proof about Valentino's sexuality just like there wasn't proof about the "rumours" regarding Cary Grant. It's a load of balderdash and should all be ignored!

  • @crupprecht1 Very few people are 100% anything number one. Number two, you wern't there, were you his best friend? Back then it was a different time. Montgomery Clift was gay but dated men and women all his life. You cannot make that assumption.

  • @Irishmodel78 I'm 100% female, 100% attracted to men, 100% American, and I know many, MANY other people who are the same way. The most common things are 100%, so I don't know where you come from. And what does Montgomery Cliff have to do with this? This is VALENTINO were talking about. So point your fingers at as many gays as you like, that doesn't make another person homosexual. Honestly.

  • @crupprecht1 I dont think he WORSHIPPED them...

  • @simikess who cares?

  • That was pretty intense for the mid 20's.

I love how you can see Valentino turn on a dime, it's in his eyes.

  • Ya think Johnny Dep could play this?

  • @sclogse1 Yeah perhaps, I also thought of him...

  • @sclogse1 Jason Lee comes closer in looks. I think he could do it.

  • wow, i'm actually a little surprised that this was shown in the twenties. i mean, it's not graphic at all, but i was under the impression that they were even MORE uptight than this. lol

  • The twenties was before the code...man the talkies before the code had really mature scripts...the early barbara Stanwick films...check 'em out...

  • @HarryPotter713 Appearances such as this one, "The Sheik" and RV in "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse", where he gives Alice Terry a pretty thorough breast exam, were part of the reason for enacting the Code.

  • This was great,so much better than todays so called films. Rudolph Valentino was a FINE MUTHA!!!

  • was he muslim?

  • no, he was italian.

  • He was an Italian Catholic.

  • This was the first silent movie I watched from beginning to end. Some of the music was great in this, too. Now I know why women of those days went crazy over him. Did he make any talking movies? So sad he died 5 years after this movie at the age of 31. How tragic.

  • He actually died only a few months (not years) after making this film. It is so hard to comprehend, he never looked better IMO!

  • Yeah people actually killed themselves when he died

  • haha in the beginning when he just throws the girl on the couch haha that was funny:)

  • I stand corrected. The difference of his death at the age of 31 and the last movie in 1926 is 5 years. Where was my mind at??? Thanks though for correcting this for others who read this. I actually liked The Sheik better which was made in 1921. I will have to see The Son of The Sheik now. It will mean a lot more to me. How sad. thanks again!!

  • He died in 1926 and Son of the Sheik was his last movie - this was also made in 1926. The Sheik was made in 1921. I think you may be getting confused. Check IMDB. There was no five year difference.

  • The look in Valentino's eyes in unforgettable!

  • Yes. I like how they act with their eyes :)

  • yea like the part when he is slowly approaching that girl and his eyes look all evil hee eek but cute too:)

  • I just found out they filmed part of the movie in the sand dunes of my home town (Oxnard, CA). Crazy!

  • Ohhhh my God what a gorgeous man...

  • This is first time that I've been able to see a movie of his. He was a gorgeous man. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Natasha Ramova was stupid for leaving him.

  • I can't believe such a Beautiful man existed in the 20"s....even Johnny Deep looks nothing comparing with the beauty of Rudy.

  • Anderdorm, great to hear from you! What you say is true. He really let himself go after Natacha left him. It was as if he didn't care about anything anymore. If he had taken care of himself, he would probably have lived longer. But would he have become an icon as he did when he died so young?

  • I just watched the Sheik, and now I can see why he was such a hit. He was definitely a sexpot, so salacious, even though his mimics sometimes is over-the-top (it was pretty common in silent films). I'd love to see more.

  • Check out "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" Sexy sexy!

  • I have to agree with you. He was not well when he made this film but he did look fantastic. There was only the odd scene where his eyes looked tired, for example, when he was tied up in the ruins. I read that he was a real trooper when in Yuma filming the outdoor scenes and the conditions were very difficult.

  • Curse his loveliness.

  • lol @ his cig. xD

I can see why he was so popular. The pictures of him don't do him justice at ALL, he's much more of a looker in the movies. <3 Wow. Instant fan.

Meanwhile, Vilma is not attractive at all. =/

  • poor guy probably had a hard time getting laid.

  • Now I get why he caused the "suicide" of young women when he died. He was good looking and the masculinity didn't do any harm either :)

  • So thats how to do it...just ravage her with my sex. Brilliant!

  • Rudolph was a looker alright. ;)

  • 3:56 Hey, Rudolph, can you look and tell me what time it is?

  • lol! wow, talk about a blooper.

  • @drmoonrat Rudy was a modern-day sheik according to the story, so it was appropriate for him to be wearing a wrist watch. He wasn't playing King Tut or anything.

  • @msrudyfan That makes sense, but still a wrist watch seems a bit out of place. Someone pointed out to me that is was actually some sort of traditional wrist band worn by sheiks.

  • Imagine this: Zachary Quinto as Rudolph Valentino! No one can ever match the real deal but heck I'd soooo go watch that!!!! :D

  • Dobby, I enjoyed Quinto in star Trek; he and McCoy were my favourite charactes.

  • Yeah, they were great! The movie got me hooked on him! :)

  • This guy might be seriously camp, but I can see why everyone loved him... hot!

  • everyone overemoted then. they had to, the didnt have words or sound.

  • was he wearing a watch?

  • Yes he was and he also wears a slave bracelet that his wife gave him.

  • Yes, a Cartier tank watch to be precise.

  • that's really funny!

  • Why is it funny? I would like to know.

  • I was saying it was funny that he's wearing a watch!

  • I think that is quite interesting really because he was one of the few men who wore a watch and jewelry at that time. I didn't realize that it was not the norm to wear jewelry and this was one of the reasons that people thought he was gay.

  • Is there anywhere online you can watch this and the original sheik film?

  • If you go to the Cal Poly Pomona site where is discusses Mr. Kellogg, you will find the entire movie there. He owned Jadan, the horse which Valentino rode in his last movie, TSOTS.

  • Or, look up Jadaan, (sorry, I spelled his name wrong in the previous post and that should help you watch the video of this movie. That is what I had to do before buying my own copy.

  • Amazing! His build is so perfected! And how odd, why did he expose his chest to her in the middle of the show??? :S

  • I'd say he was trying to tell her that she'd already hurt him like she'd already stabbed him in the heart. If you don't know the storyline it may be a little confusing. :)

  • He was showing her the bruises on his chest where he had been beaten earlier after they captured him.

  • @adriandell He was showing her the scars the abductors inflicted on him when they tortured him because he wouldn't tell them who his father was. Recall they told him that she was part of the plot to kidnap him for ransom, which is why he abducted her. This goes along with the quote about "an eye for an eye and hate for a hate is the law of my father". I haven't read the book, but he must have told her he was intending to kill her because she clutches her throat at one point.

  • has anyone downloaded the whole movie?

  • its not rape if you want it;)

  • and who wouldn't :P

  • @weerahk One book I read said a lot more footage of the rape scene was shot, but couldn't make it past the censors because it was too graphic. They were clamping down on Rudy at this point. In the Pathe' News clip of his funeral, they show a deleted scene from SOS n which Rudy strokes Vilma's breast. In "Four Horsemen", he give Alice Terry's chest a pretty good rubbing. He fondled Nita Naldi's chest in Blood and Sand. I hope the deleted rape scene turns up eventually, but I doubt it will.

  • Such powerful acting - absolutely superb. I can certainly see why women swooned. He simply smoulders in this one. I actually prefer it when a movie leaves it to the viewer's imagination as to 'what happened'. It's far more intriguing than the 'in your face' approach that is often just gratiuosly put there to get bums on the cinema seats. This is fantastic.

  • @FaerieCrone I saw a talk show recently in which an actress was asked whether her male co-stars got "excited" during mostly-nude love scenes, and she said they didn't, but she didn't take it personally, since it was acting. However, this wasn't true with Rudy or with Gary Cooper or others, who were fully clothed, yet reportedly were visibly aroused just making out with their leading ladies. All of which goes to prove your point.

  • is it just me or are his arms just perfect?

  • Perfect to pin you down with ;-)

  • It is not just you, his arms are perfect along with the rest of him.

  • Its all of us :)

  • oooo for the last time, people: YES HE WEARS a wristwatch because the movie is SET IN THE 20s, not in the 1800s.

  • I suspect it is because such things are portrayed in a much more graphic manner today than then. But as the great Hitchcock knew, you can make something even more horrific by removing the blatant grotesquerie.

  • Maybe our society became so null and passed feeling of immorality that we fail to see the "rape"... nawh!

  • *She resists him,

*Has a look of terror on her face

    *Tries to run from him

*Even pleads with him not to take advantage of her right before he does.

*After the rape, she cries her eyes out.

Sure as hell looked like rape to me.

I hold a strange liking for this movie and the prequel, but why people find the idea of being kidnapped and raped (even by Valentino) is beyond me.

  • ooo we like our Valentino a little bit sadistic, cruel, and hateful. "Hate can be a very exciting emotion. Very exciting. Haven't you noticed that?...There is a heat in it, that one can feel. Didn't you feel it tonight?...I did. It warmed me. Hate is the only thing that has ever warmed me."

  • Yes, please upload the whole film, what a beautiful and charismatic man!

  • Oh goodness, at first I thought, "Why is this controversial????" Then he kissed her............. such a horrible heinous crime!!!

HOW DARE HE KISS HER ON THE LIPS IN 1926???????????

    That mutiny! JK!

Everyone seemed so uptight then...I wonder what they would say if theyr saw the type of films there are today!!! hahaha

    -Jessica F.

  • plz upload the whole movie i got all into lol!!! he was a handsome men.

  • wouldnt mind of being 'raped' by him lol:P asweel as as marlon brando

  • Oh the brute, the brute with his menacing eyes!

  • Rape scene? I see no rape happening in this clip.

  • Can you upload the full movie version of the silent film Son of the Shiek 1926 and four horsemen of the apocalypse 1921 because there is no available copies of this films here in the Philippines.

  • arneldededios, 4 horsemen has been uploaded ;)

  • i can't find it. D:

  • what is that, rape light ?

  • James Dean, Jim Morrison, Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger and Rudolph Valentino....all equally badass.

  • Stara romantična dobra vremena.

  • The much-older James Dean (if James Dean was a raping sheik).

  • 4:47 to 4:49 SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!

  • No one today has what Rudy had then! After all these years I guess no one ever will! Even though, just imagine what it would be like if someone did? He would never have a normal life and he would probably be shut up in his home for fear of ambush!

  • I cannot agree more! Rudy would've made a great Dracula - the fangs, the blood, and the passion burning like fire!

    Simply very brilliant and creative!

  • I think Italians are HOT!

  • Errr yeah, but I'd say the word handsome or good-looking sounds preferable. Hot has na overtly sexual connotation and I worship them too much to call them hot. Btw, do you think a girl in a kimono would put them off?

  • That was really cool - rarrr

  • have Arabs worn watches at that time?

  • No. I doubt they wear it now as well. It's an apparatus too technologically and intellectually advanced for them to operate. ROFL

  • Without even a word he makes Brad look like a wimpy loser and I like Brad!

  • Officially Rudolph's father travelled extensively with the circus. Rumour has it that Rudolph's father was really a Romani Gypsy, but because of the racial prejudice Rudolph claimed to be Italian. After leaving the circus and settling in a permanent location, his father worked as a Vet, mainly with horses. Valentino was an excellent horseman and dancer.

  • Rudolph Valentino was hottt and talented!!

  • he was good. very good. and he still is.

    Such powerful acting.

  • James Dean, Johnny Depp and Rudolph Valentino....they are the shit my friends.

  • damn straight

  • Well, Rudy was half Italian, half French. I think he would be a wonderful lover.

  • I REST MY CASE...THIS IS WHAT REAL WOMEN WANT...(My self included) and I am so pleased to say, I have just found such in an ARABIAN REFUGEE...Each night is like a thousand arrows of ectasy, his kisses are as sweet as dates and he smells of Jasmine and I cannot believe this is happening to me. My grandmother swooned at this film, but I am living it...nothing compares to Middle Eastern men! ~ Mistress of Arabian Knight

O Day! Hold back thou sun, that I may lay longer by my beloved sheik...

  • There really is no evidence to support the rumors.

  • This Rudy guy turns me on so incredibly much, it's not funny at all. But, it's so pleasurable. He makes me feel so strange. Ok. I am a little obsessed with the guy. His last two films are the best, and his acting would have just got better. Rudy i hope you're watching from where you are. You have a lot of fans hun.

  • I hope somehow he knows we still love him.

  • God, he was GOOD in this. Really powerful.

  • Wasn't there a scene where he was holding her down on the bed and saying "Lie still, you little fool," or was that a different movie? Is it part of this video and just not shown?

  • I think that one might have been in the first movie (IIRC, the heroine didn't actually get raped in that one, either).

  • Who gives a damn. The man is dead and he brought happiness into the lives of millions of fans all over the world. It doesn't matter now if it ever did.

  • Grossartige Szene ! Valentino war fantastisch ! Das Buch von Renate Berger lese ich gerade. Danke an Crupprecht fuer das Video. P. 5*****

  • god. valentino WAS hot. grandma was right.

  • This was contreversal! I guess for 1926 standards?!

  • Yes, I read that part and howled!!! Hilarious! Say, I'd go for some exhausting love making from this man!!!

  • Well, he's half Italian and
