Oil independence will not only bring oil prices way down but provide money for new technologies and protection of the enviroment.
Right now, it takes the Saudi's 2 dollars to produce a barrel of oil, they charge us 145+ for each barrel,that's 143 dollars profit.
Even it takes 10 dollars per barrel to drill with enviromental responsibility here than it's still a huge savings and we won't have to worry about financing terrorim with oil profits or ever being cut off.

Anyone can say that they champion anything. My experience with government is that when they say champion, they really mean taking tax money and giving it to whichever special interest group has the most pull. Sadly, people do not base their decision on facts. Some people like to vote for someone who is "popular" or makes them feel good. Some like people who use buzz words and promise "change". Sadly, that is the problem with a democracy. There are more people who want a free ride than there are people who want to work hard and make their dreams come true. In a democracy, this leads to populist thinking and presidents like Obama who are willing to sacrifice the greater good for easy votes.

Don't knock Obama's experience, he has been a US Senator for almost 4 years. Just becoming a senator is a bigger accomplishment than most YouTube trollers can point to.
Another Illinois politician, a Republican by the name of Abraham Lincoln, had only 2 years on Capitol Hill (in the House of Representatives, 1847-49) before becoming president.
If you want to trumpet McCain's experience as a long-time Washington insider, go for it. That strategy didn't work so well for Hillary Clinton.

Here are your choices: Rampant abortion, STDs, and an overall decline in the health of kids and society or the worries of some people that some kids may be "frustrated" by not being permitted to go on orgies and have sex multiple times before they are 17 much less married.

I think there a middle choice: regular sex with stable partners. You dont have to join the orgies if you dont want to. But that wasnt my point. The point was about heterosexual sex as a vehicle for Aids as well.
If you however have a problem with authority and dont wanna take some one word you:
a) can always check the fossils by yourself, and study some biology , and see if you reach the same conclusions. If you dont, and you manage to prove it, you may make a breakthru in science.

I haven't just "listened to what the priest told me" and I'm sorry but to me all the fossil record proves is that it died. And in the case of these scientists they found a lot of things that looked similar that died. that doesn't mean they evolved.
How could I have a problem with authority? Am i not the one here believing there is a God who is in control here?
As far as I knew not many scientific theories that dealt with washing machines, tvs, etc. contradicted religious teaching.

Evolution has nothing to do with technology its a belief, if we shut down all the evolution projects and money going into them and gave it to the scientists ACTUALLY working on new technology we would be better off.
You work off the assumption that if creation is true under the beliefs held now things would fall apart but creation changes the whole situation

Yes it can but only because we inevitably got hit with bisexual people who carried it into heterosexuality, or because someone heterosexual used a bad needle etc. What the heck is so bad about abstinence? It would certainly slow the spread of STDs and the like and maybe with some morals (i.e God, religion, etc.) rather than doing whatever feels good we might be a little better off.

Nobody in the religious right (as far as i know) wants to stop scientific development just the belief system of "marcroevolution". Just because a televangelist in the UK is "investigated" for having a jet (hell we better investigate Obama and McCain and about half the country then) doesn't make all religious people corrupt. Drilling for more oil domestically is still missing the obvious point- we need to develop a massive alternative energy industry here in America. We should lead this global movement for new energy sources and sell the technology we develop to other countries. This would revitalize the industrial base this country has been losing to overseas companies and help fight global warming. Low gasoline prices are never coming back.

Oil independence will not only bring oil prices way down but provide money for new technologies and protection of the enviroment.
Right now, it takes the Saudi's 2 dollars to produce a barrel of oil, they charge us 145+ for each barrel,that's 143 dollars profit.
Even it takes 10 dollars per barrel to drill with enviromental responsibility here than it's still a huge savings and we won't have to worry about financing terrorim with oil profits or ever being cut off.

Quick question to McCain. Exxon Mobil made 40 billion last year, used 32 billion to buy back its own stock. Not including management and the coporate officers its regular employees only got standard of living wage increases. So wall street and oil exec's and management are richer, but its own guys out on the rigs and in the refineries on the ground, doing the real work, aren't seeing their lives benefit from the record profits. So goes the Wall Street vs Main Street argument.
