  • Dudebelgiam same here couldn't find but finally did

  • This is crap

  • Theme song by teeny boppers wearing tartan in Melbourne Australia around 1975, to the tune of "This Old Man"...

    B.A.Y.,

    B.A.Y.,

    B.A.Y.C.I.T.Y.,

Don't you put them to the test,

Bay City Rollers are the best!

  • Superbe chanson d'un groupe de chanteurs formidables . On en a besoin de comme ça aujourd'hui . Cultissime .

  • They learned to play one catchy song competently and rework it for the rest of their career. Smart lads.

  • A great era for rock music. I was just a kid, but I miss these songs.

  • Like if you only searched this cause of love actually! :)

  • @Jaziz4bel Just watched love actually; never heard the song before

  • HEY GIRLS STOP YOUR SOBBIN

    RAELENE101 channel

  • changed my life this vid

  • 37 years ago,I listened to this ENGLISH song for the first time.It sure brings back memories.

  • I saw Eric yesterday! He was with his grandchildren though so I didn't want to bother him for an autograph.

  • Ignoring the facts that they are a boy band and the fashion is a bit dated - this is a decent song and very catchy ---- time for a cover version???

  • good but original was WAYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER

  • bay city rollers the best

  • ha ha i used to luv alan

  • The ironic thing about this song is it's lyrics are so sad, but it has an upbeat melody.

  • @sallyann38 So sorry for your loss. That actually happened in the movie Love Actually. I've always loved this song. And it is very appropriate for funeral service.

  • 这个歌是我的一种青春。

  • Those trousers look painful..

  • I was devastated. Feb 16 2011. Went to the restaurant downstairs for a cup of tea with my friends who were there to console me, I felt numb. I just heard my father passed away and had to wait for a plane to go home. I'm still heartbroken.

  • My late uncle tour-managed for BCRs in the 70s- he had a great time, but sadly his anecdotes always contained tales of satisfying his depraved sexual lust.

Several times he made groups of girls perform ‘The Drumkit’ before they could have access to the band. They had to pull their skirts/jeans down, bend over in a row & endure him beating their bare buttocks with both drumsticks & his bare hands.

He would ‘play’ them for an hour or more- in the end many were so traumatised they just ran off!

  • this is stolen from Frankie Valli and his incredible 4 seasons. please.......<3 listen to them too!!!!

  • my mum wont shut up about these guys shes been to see them like 3 times this year and now shes going to liverpool from northern ireland just to see them again D:

  • One off the greatest Scottish bands of all time........who never got the respect or the recognition of the country it represented nor the riches they deserved for their time at the top of the world .......we were actually embarressed about these guys and dropped and forgot them as if they never existed......shame on you Scotland.

  • @mexicanupcopsass what an intelligent remark how long did you need to come up with it and

why the fuck are you even watching this video anyway

  • dont think they were called faggots at the time , only by biggeted poeple now , the music and and dress sence was very camp but we did not take any notice , but it still lives today as its better than the crap today , not just this but most of the music from the 1970s then came the 1980s and it whent down hill from then on and today is all covers of the 1970s

  • @seahamm

You're so right. We didn't take any notice because it was such a great time & people were nowhere near as offensive as they are these days! What is wrong with people & their nasty comments???? I was a 15 when this song came out & my brother had just been born, so he grew up listening to my records. He is now 40 & still loves the 70's more than any other music era.

  • @gaysy1st He is 40 you are now 55.

  • @MrNimtiz Hi, Was that a question or a statement?

  • @gaysy1st It was none of your business just something between two people.Ok.

  • @mexicanupcopsass the point is nobody called them faggots in 1975. they were authorities for young men. how I wish I was born 50 years earlier...

  • @mexicanupcopsass I agree, don't really give a crap about other peoples problems.

  • @sallyann38 stay strong x

  • You're the one girl in town I'd marry, Great big tits and a hairy fanny

  • @sallyann38 - Great Song... BIG HUG!!!

  • @sallyann38 So sorry for your loss /hug

  • not as good as the four seasons

  • @sallyann38 My condolences. R.I.P

  • they have vaginas

  • @HigherGroundCC YEah but tartan ones- so this is a great version

  • I used to go see the rollers when they were playing the small clubs in Edinburgh Scotland in the early 70s. Got to see them again in Portland Oregon again in 2010. They got old and so did I !!!!

  • This brings back memories ... and reminds me of my best friend from back then - we were mad about BCR when we were 13/14! My friend died last year, and at my 50th party next month, this song's on the playlist in memory of Wendy. Sleep tight sweetheart - we had some FAB times xx

  • @sallyann38 So sorry to hear about your big Sister. Life is very cruel xx

  • Soo baaad :-)

  • Good video. Don't you think they look like Scottish Hobbits from lord of the rings??!

    Amazing song, though...

  • @MissEleana13

not realy sure if they can be scottish if it's set in middle earth, if anything they'd be irish with the whole celtic vibe

  • @MoJo3446

I agree with the 'middle earth' part, but they actually are a Scottish band!!

  • @MissEleana13

ahh, I had no clue :')

  • my sincere condolences to you and your family - she lives within you all

  • real jonas brothers, total bubblebum bullshit...trolololololololo

Your sister will always be with you. We are all energy which cannot be created or destroyed.

  • @sallyann38 My Deepest Condolences for your Sisters Passing. Im sure she is with you know matter what

  • Was this used as the opening titles to the TV series The Grimleys

  • love bay city rollers

  • I learned how to dance the fox trot to this when I was 12 years old ~ thx for the memories ~

  • God bless your sister girl!!!!!!!!!!! I know the feeling of losing someone dear, believe me!!!!! Ian T.

  • This is actually beautiful - It always cheers me up and is so emotional! Especially in Love Actually :')

  • @DemiLeAnne94 I agree! The Bay City Rollers' cover version of "Bye Bye Baby" - a song originally recorded by The Four Seasons, back in the 1960's - was (and is) a great single. I, too, can vividly recall the track being featured in the [2003] movie "Love Actually", starring Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson (among others). Strangely enough, when the soundtrack of the film was released on CD, "Bye Bye Baby" was left out (despite the fact that it had featured prominently in the film).

  • @DemiLeAnne94 D: isn't this in the part where the wife passed away?

  • @harmfultempleton Yeah it is, I meant it's especially emotional at that part, not that it cheered me up! :S Sorry about that, haha!

  • @DemiLeAnne94 I know. I love Love actually.

  • @sallyann38 So sorry for your loss, and so young too. :(

  • These guys were the biggest band in the world in 75, shame they were shafted by greedy management.

  • its supposed to be a true story that an ex- BCR got talking to a bloke who had drink/drug/money problems and was contemplating suicide the ex-BCR says `you think you`ve got problems i used to be a bay city roller!

  • Having watched Love actually about 30 times, I have decided that this is officially my funeral song :D

  • at first, i thought it was a song made by the beatles but...it doesnt matter who sang it, it is awesome and i love it <3

  • @maidez92 the original was by the four seasons

  • I so love this song..... BUT has anyone else noticed that they replaced a member and put a newbie in!!! Where did the honey go?????? How did the macguyver lookalike get there????

  • @uretitibeach No Mcaguyver lookalike, it's Les, Alan, Woody, Eric and Derek... the original Rollers!

  • @sallyann38

i just came across this message and your loss jumped out at me. I lost a brother the same week my daughter was born

People that have not faced a death in the family will never never undrstand the pain, It does get easier and in those quiet moments tears turn to smiles of the times you shared together as only sisters can

    Good luck

  • If your going to dislike this video dont bother watching it in the first place.

  • i loveed Derek

  • @sallyann38 I'm so sorry that your beloved sister has passed. My heart goes out to you and I wish you peace and strength. Perfect song for her service as she loved them!.

    with my kindest regards,

  • @sallyann38 Sorry for your loss Sally Ann. Take it easy, and take care.

  • @sallyann38 Your sister had an awesome taste in music. God Bless her and you...

  • Yeah,,,bye bye to you too....;]

  • Original is a lot better. The two versions are lighyears apart.

  • @sallyann38 hi so sorry too here about your sad loss ...about your sister hope she was one the other side looking down on your family and you ..one of my fav songs as im from edinburgh as were the rollers .. they were from a place called broomhouse in edinburgh ..rip too your sister ....chris southampton .

  • @sallyann38 oh i m reaally sorry... hope that shes really @ a better place now... (A)

  • The Ramones truly thought that they'd be just like the Rollers - Dee Dee, for eg, was well into Rollermania. The leather jackets/ripped jeans/Keds outfits were an affordable attempt on a Queens version of the tartan uniform and the boys hoped that once they'd learnt to play a song allthe waythrough t, then they'd be teenybopper heroes.

  • @sallyann38 you have my deepest sympathy ... my older sister and i loved the BCR and this song too ... i was just going to send the link to her for this vid as a 'blast from the past'. Your sister still lives, just not in this human form. it feels like goodbye, but it is really just 'see you a little ways down the road'. Peace and blessings

  • @sallyann38 sorry for your loss, hopefully the song will remind you of good things one day and not jsut the pain of losing her. x

  • Yuck! give me the four seasons original !

  • @Freyja1133 whaaaat

  • @raelene101 HAve you ever heard the original Four seasons version?

It's much better than the Bay City Rollers cover

  • @Freyja1133 ok Ill check it out for you Im sure its great as well

  • @raelene101 rae, did you know that the four seasons are sueing the producer of Jersey Boys?

They're sueing him for copywrite infringement

And this is one of the songs in his show!

  • me was just 9 !!!!! x

  • @jewells051 I was 13 !

  • Happy New Year from Hooks N Crooks!

  • If those outfits ever come back in fashion, I'm moving to mars.

  • Oh yeah , juste parfait.

  • class

  • this song reminds me of Jennifer S in Northallerton

  • what a tune..imagine Crystals or Shangri-La"s doin it ?

  • I had to special order two BCR albums from Scotland, back in 1976. They cost me $7.50 each which was a lot of money! How I did love those Bay City Rollers. Oh and @ rus524- I was crazy about Derek (the pedaphile- learn to spell, Brainiac!). If he was a pedaphile then we didn't know it.

  • I have never realised how good this song actually is.

  • oh yeah i am jealous of a peadophile band. fuck off you thick twat

  • Leslie is obviously pleased to see somebody to the left. I never would've noticed this when I was 7 years old!

  • my first boyfriend bought this single for me , we were both 15 , he then dumped me heartbreaking at the time...now look back and smile at those days

  • I loved BCR in my childhood especially Lesley & Pat ♡ I know u sang this song, too. Btw, decent people choose parting than adultery. It's the rule no.1!! Maybe I should say, "Bye bye, baby." 2 u.

  • i love the Four Seasons version better.
