Played this on the Megadrive back in the day, now my cartridge is busted so I grabbed it as rom and played it on emu, still as freaking hard as I remember, playing on "Hard" difficulty is rediculous, your hitbox covers half the screen, u get hit by everything...

@jupiterofthemonkey It depends on which version of the Sega Genesis or Mega Drive you are running. A gen 1 system will play the music at the speed in the video. A gen 2 or above has different soundchips so the music plays at PAL speeds. I have the actual cartridge and Genesis systems from gen 1 on and have noticed this difference.

Your useing the european megadrive 2 system. this worked fast on european megadrive 1 console but when I got the 2nd version it runs slower.

I think the megadrive 1 system runs all games in NTCS mode 60fps like the US version.

really well with my megadrive 1 it ran all my games very fast but it seems that for the 2nd system it runs sonic 1 and hell fire soundtrack a lil slow. As for truxton I'll look into it.

@ultramegaunknown Could be that you're not using a model 1 genesis. My CDX and Model 2 both play at half speed, but the Model 1 works fine.

@Serraxor That might be it. I have a Mod-2, and the gameplay is fine, but the music drags on. It doesn't sound bad per se, just... really clashes with the frantic pacing of the game. Thanks for your input

l had this game when l was a kid and l got my ass handed to me all the time, the farest I've ever progressed was at the unforgiving 4rd stage and l just gave up, this game is freaking brutal and if you can beat it without cheating, then every video game in the world is a joke to you.
