It's funny how certain people here think they can criticize that performance when they have no musical talent themselves. A live performance is different from a recorded and finished product. There are very few artists out there who can pull off what she just did. She wasn't out of key, she changed the song a little because it is a live show and people do that all the time. Her vibrato was awesome and this performance was flawless so please put a sock in it!!!

Obviously her ear if good because she acknowledged something wasn't right. I said it wasn't great. I think you said they should have changed they key??? Either way, someone was underrehearsed. I love Jessie J but as soon as she started singing I knew she was off key. Even she admitted it (twitter). Thats probably why she did a lot of word marking instead of singing the word. She wasn't sure which note to sing. Great voice but idk if her ear (ability to hear pitch) is as good. She either didn't learn music theory thoroughly or she was just extremely nervous. I hope it was the 2nd option. Go Jessie!

i think the reason it's slightly of key in places (there is no denying she is) is because the track is not playing loud enough for her to hear over her own voice. its a common problem especially when she sings so high and powerfully over a quiet track. she's one of the best performers i've seen and the x factor contestants should look at her with great jealousy. especially since she clearly puts so much effort into writing her own beautiful music and not just learning different lyrics every week
