  • this video is no longer relevant cotto was 100% cheated by a margarita who laced is hands.

Margarita is a cheat and will never be regarded or respected by anyone. Take your video off it's not correct in the up to date events of margarita's cheating

  • Hatter!!! Hatter, go bk n see d end of d fight, he took off his gloves n u see thers no cement on his hand n if he did, u would think sum 1 would of notice. U jus mad cus Cotto & Citron got d same ass wooping n all u got is fucken xcuses.

  • those are the best commentsss about the fight

not even myself could say those cleaver things hahaha

  • THANK YOU SLEEP AND DOX for seeing that hard body shot in the 8th. NObody believe me that Marg hit Cotto with a tough body shot and that took so much energy out of Cotto with that one HUGE body blow. Cotto has got to clinch and change the pace of the fight net time otherwise he's going to get worse. I think he'll make the adjustment though and Im picking Cotto

  • larry merchant said about margarito when he fought citron, can you stand in there with him? can you take his shots? can you keep him from you walking you down? do you get discourage when you hit him with your best shots, and he keep coming? that is what happen to cotto after hitting margo with his best shots. and it did not do anything, margo has a chin of a burro,(donkey, ass.)cotto....... great fighter, great person, my respects.

  • De La Hoya Run baby run

    FloyMay.. run...... hahaha biches run

  • Fight Night Round 3 For PS3

    S/N: Bonafide43 Add Me...add me if you have the game!! ( .

  • yeah i also think if margarito have his rematch against williams he will knock out williams in 10 rounds becuase he started extremely slow on the 1st fight but the best punches came from margaritos corner .. and he hurt williams so margarito vs williams " margarito knock out in 10 rounds"

  • starting extremly slow= I was out boxed in rd 1 and 2, 3-12 I just couldnt catch dude. lol

Margarito didnt start slow....Williams made him look slow

  • margaritos not the best skilled boxer, but lets not forget that he has the record for the most punches thrown in 12 rounds, and the best chin in boxing today! That right there makes him a dangerous apponent, and cotto is a hell of a fighter, he looked good but margo looked better, because of the stamina and will!!! I honestly think that if margo and williams had a rematch, that Tony would TKO Paul the same way he did to cotto, but the pressure would have to start earlier against Paul!

  • bigmike, not putting you on blast bro but i think YOU were the first to start calling Tony 'Jason', check episode 46 @4:09...hadn't heard it before then. and dox, same thing, not blasting, but do you think cotto made margarito look "better than he really is" or, in retrospect, IS he that good? finally, to any of the GYGB5, where does all this recent activity in welter leave winner of hatton/malignaggi? thanks.

  • These guys are always on mark.I agree about why cotto didnt punch to the body. Punching to the body takes commitment and that means risking getting hit in this case by Margarito. Cotto weighed the risk and decided it was not worth it specially since he was really taggin Margs upstairs it was just a Margarito having too much chin. Also mentioned is that In this fight the opponent dictated how cotto fought dats why he didnt punch to the body not because he forgot or didnt want to

  • Yeah it's called HUEVOS! If Cotto was the better fighter then he would have came out with his hand in the air. He gave up I have never seen a champion give up the way he did.. he's been exposed a fake and he will continue to get beat!

  • I think cotto game plan was effective and not necessarily the wrong one, he showed that by winning the first half of the fight, but i agree with big mike, you have to go to the body v. tony and at least try to slow him down. by the 9th cotto looked like he was in a 24rd fight n tony looked like he was on rd1 I also think cotto stood on the ropes too much and absorbed too much.He did use his feet well jus shoulda done it more, but easier said than done esp. wen u cant breath n tony is stalkin

  • cotto proved he was the better fighter in the fight, but margarito showed who the tougher guy was, Tony is a freak of nature. Like I said, I still think cotto is the better fighter like that old sayin, styles make fights, but I think it was more his chin and his will rather than style that did it, cotto gased out n tony kept goin. Cotto is my boy but but props to tony, he did his thing and deserved the win. I'm happy the fight lived up to the hype.

  • i think mike was right cuz cotto does alway go to the body so i think that hurt him in this fight also Coltrane did have a good point in the fact that cotto is 5'7 n does not have a long range punches but cotto can switch to southpaw that how he beat zab juddah but all in all it was a great fight

  • Cotto will be back!

  • you guys need a show!!!! good job

  • Thanks so much for your kinds words. Thank you everyone for hanging out, the comments and support.

    -R.O.D.

  • That was quite a dumb fight for Castillo to take at this point in his career. First of all, he cant operate at 147, far too heavy to be effective. Secondly, he chose a dude who throws 100 punches per round which is not something you wanna face when you're as slow as Castillo has become.

I think he wouldve done better against Bradley's style if he had been arsed to make the weight. But he should really hang em up now

  • @jafar I told u he's Cotto's stunt double lol he's not a bad little fighter but who's giving him a title shot? JLC gave us some memorial moments and he fought everyone I say happy trails and thanks for all the great moments. Trane

  • pt 2 to this vid is up now. Check it out1

    Sleep

  • On ESPN 2 in like 5 minutes

  • JLC looked really worn. He just looked deflated.

Is it me or did lujan really look like a cotto stunt double. Body type, hair cut, Face & physique, If he moved liked that at training camp then he more than prepared tony to hunt miguel down. Tony was totally ready for everything cotto did...wow.

And it seems like going thru camp w/ margarito added some stamina & punch output in lujan's pocket. He overwhelmed JLC & looked fresh as snacks in a ziplock while doing it.

  • Yeah, JLC just can't fight at these bloated weight classes. I think he should have retired after Hatton.

    Sleep

  • I'm heart broken Jafar lol nah Its all good homie I feel where u coming from. Ride or Die is just like me, he can talk boxing every minute of the hour, in fact, I got a high ass phone bill for texing him about this fight every day the last past few weeks lol Trane

  • (laughing)....I know it crazy for u to respond to all these guys & points of view on ur own... I'll holla wen this jawn is over yall...

    one

  • @ R.O.D & Jafar yall know Castillo is fighting Lujan aka Cotto's stunt man tonight lol people tried to sell that fight as a frame of reference on how to beat Tony and that fight ended with homies ear hanging off lol Trane

  • where they fighting bro....

  • Hummmm. Felix Sterm and Santos! I like those fights from a boxing point of view. Toney does deserve to get paid. He would get paid against Ricky. Ricky cuts easy, just imagine the amount of blood in the ring? Ricky needs to stay in the lower weight classes (140) he could rule that! -R.O.D

  • If he were to repay Santos for that last fight he lost on a head butt cut. He could be dubb the PR killer. Santos seems to hit hard tho...he seems really heavy handed...He stuned the hell out of tony in that first fight w/ a straight rt hand. in rd 1. Backed his ass right up & gave the zab judah legs momentarily. Shane mosely might be a good payday for margarito. I don't c why shane wuld run years ago & take the fight now...but he could get paid & win.

  • LOL! He did buzz Santos, but I have to say, he was coming on strong (like the crazed maniac he is) towards the end.

  • (laughing) That's why I said...this version of AM seems to be more driven & hungry. I just don't know if anybody in the div can really contain him. He's been fighting since 15. He wants to be a legend. The only way I see anyone beating him is on points & slowing him down. PW did that. But pw gets hit way too much & tony is way too strong @ the moment. Too much confidence & will be too motivated to avenge that loss. I don't see paul throwing 1200 more shots & moving all nite.

  • JafarMartin: I know. I was thinking the same thing. This version of A.M. would give Paul a little trouble. What could Paul do diffrent.. throw 1201 punches? Paul throw 100 punches a round in that fight.. That was amazing. Although Marg. lost, he did not get blown out against a guy who throw a crazy amount of punches. Paul better not sleep like he did in his first fight with Quitana. Marg.would give it to him! (LOL) -R.O.D

  • Yo... It's always good when the rest of you guys chime in & give ur perspective....Trane runs the show round here as the lone soldier...But multiple host perspectives is good also...You guys should come around more often & chop it up...

  • I appreciate the Love and support. We will try to chop it up more. It is going to be great when the website is up!

  • Imagine if Margarito went up in weight class & so did Kelly pavlik & won titles. & miguel cotto came back to rule welterweight div. & paquio continues on his path of destruction. Top Rank would actually rule boxing ....THat's a crazy thought. When u think about it TR is like Def Jam & GB is like rocafella. The owners are the one carrying the promotions for the company. But x & oscar will be done soon. & shane aint that far behind em.

  • That is what you call "Coporate Thuggin" (LOL)

  • I thought y'all were gonna say something about the "cheerleading squad". I know y'all heard Jim Lampley cheerleading one of the fighters. I'm just curious to see if y'all saw/heard what I saw/heard from him as far as being biased towards one fighter.

  • It was crazy bro...Miguel was leaking from three places & they were still showing cotto punch highlights in between rds only. It wasn't until the 10th that they even showed a Margarito pnch reel. THey were nuthuggin for real..But I'm sure there's some marketing strategy or payolla involved in the whole thing. I just haven't figured the anggle out yet...

  • Part two covers that tonight.

    Sleep

  • JustSomeGuy80: I thought Cotto would win, BUT I saw EVERY punch Toney landed. Jim Lampley started to see those punches like around....round 11 (lol) He was very biased. sometimes it is best to mute the fight.

    Ride or Die.

  • Do you guys respect the Ring Belt? It is viewed as the gold standard of the belts. Who do you think is the Ring champion of the Welterweight Div?? Ride or Die

  • FLoyd owned the ring belt...i don't know who does now...

  • Jafarmartin: Exactly.. SO, Do you give it to Toney or Paul WIlliams? Or should we just wait till they duke it out again?

  • Right now the only reason margarito has an ever so slight edge is b/c he just beat who everyone considered "the man" @ w/w the undefeated champ who destroyed the guy who beat P.will & gave him loss #1. But the edge is ever so slight b/c P.will actually has a win over tony. But tony edges him by a hair right now...He's king 4 the moment. But. He knows that he has to beat P.will to be undisputed. He has to. but he's holding the cards. People want wut he has right now. HE don't have 2 chase anyone.

  • I agree with you 100%. Now, do we need clarity on Toney Marg. and Paul Will? IF taht figth does not happen, what are Toney's options? I don't think anyone is going to fight him besides Paul Williams (Anyone with a name). In my opinion, he might have to move up. -R.O.D

  • I personally think he should not fight PW for a while if he's going to. I think he should take this opportunity to get paid. PW is the only big name in the div. & I don't think it will do #'s b/c pw is not well known. I'm thinking maybe a tito fight. a ricky hatton fight. & even going up & doing a santos rematch leike my man gque said...in PR. That way he carefully directs his career to get paid. RH fight is a strtch but it's big money fight. Even a felix sturm @ mw is an option.

  • But if arum is trying to change the culture back to wen top guys faced top guys...then Paul williams is a must. He's the only man to beat him really. & he called him out. Some of our cohorts go w/ P. will in a rematch. I however have margo in the rematch. I just think the letdown against quintana in a championship fight right after he beat tony tells me something. I don't think he'll repeat wut he did in the 1st fight. I see AM starting faster & getting to him quicker in ptII

  • Margarito is a 3 time world champion when he defeated Cotto.

  • (laughing) YO ...I like watching the video & only lookin @ big mike....Look at his body language....Big mike is heated!! Looking like a salty doughnut back there....(so funny) TThen it all comes out wen it's his turn to talk...Did he lose money....Don't worry big mike...u'll get em next time...

  • Big Mike was tired & salty. It was 2:00 am. Also, Coltrane and SLeep were rubbing in with their predicitons(LOL). They had every right to do so. Toney was a monster Saturday. Cotto fought excellent too!

    -Ride or Die

  • (laughing) I knew they prolly got at him... If u watch trane's expression..he goes nuts wen big mike brought up paul williams...rolling his eyes & looking away trying to contain himself...It's just funny to watch maan...

  • I thought cotto fought an exceptional fight.. He actually improved from the shane fight. People don't realize...Miguel is a Stalker himself. He goes in & walks people down slowly. & patiently. He's like the PR IVAN DRAgo...He did wut he did in the last 3 rds of SM fight for an entire fight against Tony nonetheless. That's crazy. He elevated his game & versatility. Mark my words...that L made him stronger. Now he knows how far he's got to push himself. HE's got to go beyond hell.

  • LOL!!! Coltrane is a funny Cat!

  • Why is the IBF welterweight belt vacant? I thought Margarito beat Cintron for it. So beating Cotto does not mean Margarito has both WBA and IBF???

  • He vacated it for the cotto match.

  • dtsshow: He was stipped of IBF for taking the Cotto fight..imagine that! (lol) Rewind last year(2007), He was almost stripped for not fighting mandatory P. Williams, instead he wanted to fight Cotto. Well, he fought the mandatory(Paul Will) and lost the belt anyway. THis year, Marg. beat Cintron for IBF and Clottey was the mandatory. He said forget the belt, I'll fight Cotto. Rightfully so, he already beat Clottey. Fans wanted to see him and COtto fight. Good move by Tony!

    Ride or Die

  • Oh, ok. So, is there anyway Margarito or any other fighter could ever have all welterweight belts at any given time? Or is the boxing system of champions set up to where no one fighter can hold all the belts in his division??

  • Fight the guys w/ the belts & unify the belts in the div.... It's like lord of the rings or some other fantasy movie...Just fight the fights that bring the belts under one roof...

  • wait a min. I could be wrong...I'm not sure why he had to vacate the title in the first place...Let me research that & come back...

  • Good question.. This divison should have been unifed a long time ago. There was so much talent with Floyd and etc. No one was trying to fight another. Fast Forward to this week, Paul Williams might fight him again. SO someone could have WBA & WBO. Now, iF you were Berto, Clottey or Judah would you fight this killer??? I wouldn't. I don't think any champ is going to fight Toney. (just my opinion)

  • Well Right now...Berto has a belt & P.will has one. & we know that PW & Clotty have both fought him already. I don't see berto fighting him..It would be a cotto re-run. I know PW wants to fight again... Everybody think Clotty did work on tony & the hand injury held him up...But I disagree. People forget @ that time Margo fought twice in 20 months leading up 2 that fight. & that Clatty fades @ the end of fights also... Tony threw 1700 punches in that fight. JC don't want to fight again after Sat

  • Good Points!

  • Good lookin R.O.D. It was face a mandatory or Cotto..That was a basic no brainer...How long b4 he has to fight a mandatory in this new scenario...

  • floyd will beat MARGARITO BOXING LIKE A COWARD,BUT A FIGHT HE WILL NEVER WIN.CHIKEN HEAD FLOYD FLYIES OROUND THE RING AND YOU GUYS CHEER TOO.

  • Now how much some of y'all wanna bet that, if Money comes back, and DECISIVELY beats Antonio Margarito, people will still hate Money? He may even rock Tony with so many sharp shots that are unseen and crisper than Cotto's, but people will forget all that and say -- "Well, he didn't knock him out -- so..." It's just like a double-standard against May is all; that boy can't win for winning.

  • I'd bet two of my houses that that would never happen...ur forgetting that floyd does move alot but he lingers on the ropes in just about every match. Theat check hook that sent RH into the turnbuckle is like tissue paper in that match up... It would be an awful fight that no matter how much he moved floyd would lose in the judges eyes. The brittle handed mayweather will not commit to throwing that many shots to the brick head of margarito. It don't get no crisper than whut miguel did saturday.

  • As much as I like Floyd, this Toney dude is maniac (Like Sleep and Coltrane said). He is so much more hungry. Tony's chin is crazy! Floyd has hand issues. I think the TOny that fought Cotto on Saturday, would give Floyd heavy problems. Refer to the first Castillo fight vs Floyd. Heck, it will probably be waaay rougher than that! Ride or Die

  • @arielto, I see where your going but here's why that's a bad parallel; Taylor was knocked out in his first fight with Pavlik and he almost had Pavlik out as well now Cotto was out boxing Toney and was force to quit, what's the next plan? If he fights inside it will be the easiest pay check Tony ever earned! Trane

  • i think that with a new strategy and better conditing cotto can beat margarito remember what taylor did to pavlik many believe pavlik lost the rematch what do u think guys

  • This has been your ValleyMinute...Thank you very much.

  • I dont want to hear the words p4p until further notice. I feel like my dad here.."In my day p4p meant something" Not anymore..whos the man?? Joe Calslappy..lol...dudes fighting(or trying to) old men off the strength of an unimpressive performance against an inactive benard???? Is it manny who has yet to beat a Mexican legend in his prime, fights the weakest champ in135 then drops down for his next fight??? Is it Toney who beat a Cotto that ESPN and Cotto nation believed is p4p but really

  • was just a good(NOT GREAT) fighter who beat two resume builders Sugar and Judha. And alot of you seem to believe the loss to Paul Williams didnt count because Paul lost to Quintanna(but latter DESTROYED HIM).

Bottom line p4p means POUND FOR POUND, not pretty good for the pound or he's my dude by default. It just goes to show the further devalufication(is that a word?) of boxing as a whole. Our p4p aint shit compared to the old p4p and wont be again as long promoters keep killing the sport.

  • thank you is all about the promoters the only way to win a fight a mexican have to k.o to who ever he is fighting that's the truth.look at the fight oscar - trinidad trinidad only won 4 rounds and still he won the fight ? who was the promoter mmmmmm !!!!!!!!1 don king !1!!!!

  • All that being said....FLoyd is A "Duck" a Lame Duck until he gets back in the ring and finishes his meal. I dont put him in the p4p because he is an entertainer....not a boxer. In fact GYGB family...we need to chill on the p4p until a)the best fight the best in their weight class on a consistant basis....NOT JUST ONCE A YEAR. b)The lineage and the belts mean something; and with promoters like Arum and Goldenboy I dont see that happening anytime soon.

  • For those rare(and I do mean rare) times he catches mayweather, I see the PHILLY SHELL giving Marg fits; hell hit him...but not clean like he did Cott. Cause Cotto cant throw combos and stay away from those body punches at the same time....FLOYD CAN, he's made a living out of being elusive and inflicting damage at the same time. Did you see the DelaHoya fight....couldnt touch him; last time I checked DelaHoya is faster WAY faster than Toney. I think it would be a mismatch because of the speed.

  • He needs to(and wiil) come back and fight theT-9000akaAntonio Kruger. I would favor him in a fight aginst any of todays welters because.....wait for it......STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Toney's destruction of Cotto was classic; but that still doesnt give Margarito or Cotto for that matter a better chance at Money. Marg is to damn slow to catch money; cotto out boxed and got walked down but HE AINT NO MONEY...thats like comparing amustang to a Ferrari. Plus Money's slip game/inside fighting is A +

  • You guys are intelligent right? For the love of boxing, don't lable money fighter mayweather the best p4p fighter out there. Until he fights risky opponents such as Cotto fighting Margarito, until he stops fighting blown up welter weights, don't even think he is the "best since Leonard"

and for Fook sake, do not even compare Mayweather to Leonard. Hell FN no. Leonard took risks.

If Mayweathre does not give Margarito a chance to fight, please people, don't go praising him.

  • What my fellew diehard in arms. The valleyboy's take on PBF is pretty simple. He is an all time good NOT an all time great. He's streamlined the path that Oscar took to ALLtimeGoodness; the one that Manny is currently using. Fightsome(not all of the best),collecting belts like keychains and move up in weight while doing it. Pretty good...but not great. Look at the resume - Corrales,Castillo,J.Chavez,Judha, DelaHoya, Hatton....good(come on phorgive); but not a great portfolio......

  • vallae, really, look at judah..nothing but hype, hatton..dont count cause he sucks, dlh was supposed to be 'massacred' not a close win. so that leaves corrales, castillo and i guess chavez as the only real respectable wins (even though the first castillo fight was a loss). how can people be so high on a trackstar with no real track record? pbf was well-managed and thats it.

  • @Cartex I'm still waiting on you dawg!

  • @aybuey, thanks for the love homie. We do this thing for the love of the sport and not self promote any boxer on some cheerleading sh*t like some of these other goofball shows. Cotto will never beat this version Margarito as we stated in prior shows whatever style Cotto brings Tony walks it down. Every great fighter has a road block. Trane

  • Well Mayweather sure as hell aint no Zab or Mosely. He's better then them. Plus Mayweather would be the favorite against any Welterweight. Also Ask Dan Rafael who the best fighter he's seen. Brian Kenny as stated that he's the best since Leonard. I hate Mayweather, But he's too damn good.

  • pbf isnt the "best" anyone's ever seen...i mean the guy hasnt fought Margarito,Pwill,Cotto,Clottey,Berto,Cintron,or even Quintana! with wins over hatton (lmfao!) and dlh (the guy who fights EVERYBODY..but loses) how can anyone think he's the greatest? ok, put it this way, I can personally beat EVERYONE of those guys listed but im not going to fight any of them and prove it...am i the best yet?

  • Is it just me or does anyone notice how Arum and the Margie camp is avoiding the PW topic. "i'll let my company decide whats next for me." And wasn't it Arum and Margie demanding the past top guy fight them with verbal trash being thrown his way. What really gets me is how Arum bitter ass was still trashing the retired guy during pre-fight conferences for the same stuff they are pulling now. TR will search around PW for another big fight for as long as possible. HYPOCRISY at its best!

  • The boxers don't get the whole question and the pubic don't get the whole answer.

  • Also Dox is right about the spanish translaters. Never heard one that was any good.

  • Wuzzup GYGB. Best boxing show on youtube by far. You guys seem very unbiased in your boxing analisys. A sign of true fans. Except for Big Mike.(sounds like his booty still hurts from the Cintron vs Tornado fights) No dis to Dox but he was wishing with his prediction. I understand though, I'm chicano, I was wishing too.(mine came true) Big Mike falls into the category of people who somehow think Cotto could have fought better and won. Huge props to Cotto though, he lost like a great boxer loses.

  • The sour grapes from the Cotto people is pathetic. Not only were they blind and ignorant about the logistics of the fight itself going into it, they were blind and ignorant to the clear and concise way in witch the people who picked Margarito said it would play out. The level of ignorance demonstrated here was purely astounding, and it continues. I have lost all respect for these people.

  • Hey man what is this song called? It's ILL!

  • perfect scenario gquezvas...perfect..Tony just won wut everyone wants. Let everyone else shuffle the deck around....Sit on the throne & take the most lucrative AND exciting fights. Either Mosely or Ricky Hatton. But he'd CRUSH hatton. & would have to move up to face tito...& if he does that he wouldn't have to vacate his title just take on a mandatory. He better be prepared tho.a mandatory might be one of those other guys. Or after a tito fight take miguel on again that's another big money fight

  • @guardyourgrilltv, all credit goes to Antonio Margarito who was too strong, too determined, and his super chin was too much for Miguel Cotto on that day..... I was disappointed that Miguel Cotto didn't go to the body like i thought he would!!! He was landing head shots all day.... BUT.... He didn't go to the body and if he did.... Well, then maybe it's a different story.... But we'll see if Margarito-Cotto II will happen sometime next year.... Max Kellerman is a very good commenter i agree....

  • @periks, oh I knew that, if you listen all though its low I said when you go to the body it causes commitment and you run the risk of being countered to the body. Bottom line is, Cotto wanted no parts of them counter body shots and can u blame him? Trane

  • Hey when you guys were talking about cotto not going to the body was because i think from all the pressure margarito was bringing to him he couldn't go to the body and he wasn't gonna risk getting hit more on the nose since he was bleeding in round 2. Cotto was asked in Puerto Rico why he didn't go tot he body and he said the opportunity never presented.

  • @erdna, you're not surprise are you? I rather see Tony fight Williams as a fight fan. Erdna, do you want to see Tony walk down Oscar lol or fight Williams and get his lost back? I kind of want him to fight Clottey only because me and Dox got a small bet going. Wacquiao is avoiding people again (shaking my head) all that heat @35. This story sound familiar doesnr it? Lol Trane

  • I can't believe Oscar is not going to give Margaritto a crack at him. It's called passing the torch and it's a honoroble thing to do. Paquiao, that's the dumbest match-up I've ever heard.

I'll tell you this though if that fight happens at 147 and Paquiao wins, Mayweather will come out of retirement to fight Pacquiao.

  • In every interview Cotto says " I fight whoever my company tells me to fight" lol I'm dead serious though

  • (laughing) that's why I asked the question...b/c he says that every single time...& now I noticed tony saying the same thing...talk to my promoter he'll tell u whose next...I'm like wow...that's courage...ur basically a soldier for TR or GB or goosen or Whoever....That's interesting.

  • I m here Jafar lol I think Cotto stock did rise he showed he can box and let's face it this aint the same Cotto that HBO introduce to us. My only problem is people giving him a morale victory because they picked Cotto and wrote Tony off as a "club fighter" professional journalist I'm talking. Cotto imo will never beat Toney, physically it's not a good look. The next fight ends earlier imo Trane

  • @jafar,Boxers just wanna fight and let the business run through the suits. Imagine doing business with Arum with no business background? Also these top promotion company's carefully bring fighters along because they invest so much money in them. Pavlik is force to fight Hopkins because of the low market value of m/w. Now Oscar was smart and now boxers are following his lead and that's run your own show, the only problem is everyone aint Oscar so you force to hire a promotor.

  • So you fight a guy even if u feel uncomfy or that u can't beat him...u just face whoever they say...I understad it but it seems a little odd...

  • I guess everyone is eating dinner...But I have another comment. Cotto has only gone the distance 4 times in his pro career. I read where someone said cotto lost more than margarito gained...But I think cotto gained alot in that fight. Just b/c he lost doesn'y mean he didn't improve. Think about how he built up his arsenal...b4 sat we only saw cotto box & move for like 3 rds. Against tony he did it for 11. & it was against tony M. I think he vastly improved again like in prior fights

  • I just think Miguel becomes super strong after facing that type of fire...stamina wise..pain threshold wise...& boxing ability under pressure...he made himself more versitile sat. & that's dangerous for alot of people. I see him going even further after this fight...

  • I agree a hundo percent with this comment. Of course there are some reservations held because of the psychological effects a loss like that could have and how the fans react to him. I am very interested in when and who his next fight will be

  • I am not sure about this, but I think Collazo is ranked #1 or #2 by the WBA. I need to find out for sure.

  • oooh wow..he's a good opponent. Tony would eat him up... If he couldn't just outright dominate Ricky hatton...Margarito destroys collazo. The bad thing about being on top is the attention has eveyone studying you & trying to find ways to capitalize on ur weaknesses. That's why it's so hard to stay on top...Everyone is gunnin for u.

  • I looked it up...Luis callazo is next in line by the wba.

  • Thanks for confirming that! I knew he was #1 or #2. Bad fight for Collazo!

  • Let me ask a question...Why does a fighter hand over all the matchmaking decisions on who their opponents are... why do they give complete control to the promotional conmpany rather than take any part in the decision.

  • Ok I feel u. I never gear Hatton people mention Cotto but that's a bigger fight then Berto

  • what about tony vs tito... He's been calling out x... THat would be a big # fight i think...

  • I'm actually leaning more towards Cott/Berto. I think Cotto beats him but man that's a explosive fight and Cotto get a belt back. Trane

  • I think that would be a good fight also...I guess I'm thinking of the #'s & the star power in cconjunction w/ the fight itself...

I think they'd both be good fightss...

  • has anybody wondered what aa Miguel cotto/ ricky hatton fight look like... I think that would be an explosive fight...

  • @Jafar, Cintron shouldn't feel bad losing to the baddest mofo in the division. Trane

  • not at all...He still has a career if he waants it...I'd like to see him against some oother guys...he still has 1 pnch pwr....I'd like to see him fight some more...

  • @Ali, the closes I've been to London is when I put on my Paul Smith sneakers lol if I'm ever in that town that should of gave my dude" The G man" a first round TKO , I'll holla @ u. I'm still waiting for Jafar to come back to Philly so we can have him on the show. Trane

  • I gotta coordinate it bro....but I'll get there....

  • GYGB HITMEN take arms we shall never surrender...shout out to the boy on the vallea in cali. and the rest of the gang...this is "kill, him" signin out untill next time soldiers

    peace

  • @Ali, I dress sharp like a London blocke lol I'm a man of two faces if I aint wiling out on GYGB I'm in the cafe's sipping latte's listening to "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis lol or I'm in da club VIP listing to BIG lol Trane

  • This is like one long ass soap opera...It sucks that wwe have to wait months btw episodes... I really haven't analyzed the clottey/judah fight much.... But what happens if zab shows superior movement... I always see clottey cover up & creep forward to get into range...never really seen him not going toe to toe & fighting someone who moves well.

& people forget josh fades at the end of fights also...I mean is this one really in the bag...

  • @ jafar don't get it twisted, I rap to da bul Toney when was in AC well Dox was the my mouthpiece lol but he told us he aint losing no more. He said he wanted to be remember like Chavez. Far, that threw chills down my spine. I like Paul in the rematch but I aint betting against Toney.

  • DAAAAAMN!! that made me tingle like the cat from lion king just reasing it....(mufasah!!)

That's crazy...I know he meant it. I remember saying that to myself one day...I was like "efff this ish...I aint taking no more "l's"...I aint losing no more" I didn't care about grammar as I said either... & I wasn't bullshitting. It's jsut something u put in ur mind & commit to doing everything poss to win... I think it would be an explosive fight....will it do #'s though..

  • & I don't want people to think I don't respect PW's game. I think the bol Is nice... In fact a lot of GYGB wrote him off & back pedled wen he lost to quintana...I didn't. But I still see flaws in his game..Even though he got the 1st round ko...he was still being hit too much....flush. & the way tony is fighting right now...where his mindset seems to be...it's about to be ugly... They did the same thing to x. trued to lock him out... but he kept winning. They done let the bol in. & tony's only 30

  • @trane, we all need to get together to chew the fat over at your favorite starbucks cafe lol i agree clottey got this one and your boy not so super keeps gettin big "ish" fights. yo if your ever in london holla at me @ KOJO'S club we've even had the great DAVE CHAPPELLE. i'll be the skinny dude with the "black bert" beard

  • @Ali, you know Zab is my dude but Clottey is similar to Margarito people avoid him. The difference is, Clottey got that high hold like Quartey that he shoots those crisp 1's and 2's out of and he rolls with a punch well. People killed me when I said Clottey is more technical then Cotto. Zab always got a puncher chance but Clottey knows how to hold em and fold em shout out to Johnny Cash lol Paul aint no Floyd he told Tony "get @ me" lol Trane

  • I think this is fight of the year only because of the contrast of styles. Cotto was boxing and Tony was stalking and the network was so happy for Cotto and Then the sky got dark and the wind started blowing and then the "twister" came. You had the rising star get take down by the cagey vet who nobody picked to win. The fight lived up to its hype and ended with a ko! Vasquez/Marquez everyone knew they would just mix it, not really a surprise there. Trane

  • @jafar,Paul angles were crazy in that fight how do Tony solve those 82 inch pipes? Paul is so confident he can beat Tony any day of the week since he's beat him twice now. The only thing that worries me is Tony haven't broken his promise yet lol its hard to go against a man on the mission!

  • From what I remember he had solved that puzzle in the latter part of the fight. He not only cought up to Paul wall. He hurt him. Wobbled him. Connected with the right very well. To his credit PW built up a very big lead & ended on a strong note also.. I just feel a diff energy coming from Mmargo. I think hee is super focussed & improved in that area. & like I said b4 Paul has to give a repeat performance. I don't think he will. He might. But I think tony shuts him down in part deux.

  • I want margo to wait for that fight anyway & make as much money as poss.... Then go kill Paul Will. There's something that happens to a man's psyche when u beat a class a fighter in that fashion...I think tony found new life.

  • @Ali, always coming up with the ill quotes "tsunami" lol that he is. Bernard fight game can't be duplicated. That's a street fight game he brings into the ring. Cotto aint strong enough to hit and hold like Hopkins especially against Tony. Trane

  • waddup! john coltrane how r you with a saxophone? lol what r we gonna do now although zab/josh ain't bad next week, ain't nothing mouthwatering till sept. damn, i'm already starting to get withdrawal symtoms and yall called it..sleeps redeemed himself after the tito fiasco lol and margarito along with paul yo, super freak physique like raphael saadiq lol for all the dudes at 147...anyone for Margarito/williams 2?

  • margarito is a pernicious seed that was sown during those early years fighting older dudes and has now grown since the williams fight into a massive and deadly tree, its fruits r sweet but poisonous, its flowers r full of thorns, its twigs and branches r green and verdant but r exhaling a deadly breeze which is poisoning all at 147 lol (i'm runnin outta analogy's) cotto holla at berto and grab yourself a green strap Margarito MAKE SOME MONEY

put that in yall pipe & smoke it

  • I also think that izzy vaquez/R. Marquez fight is still fight of the year right now...

  • he did not clinch all night... that should have been included in his strategy....ala B-hop. Or better yet more like casamayor...that's his M.o. along with the slick moving & trading in spots & a little head butting...

  • cotto fought the best fight he could, the only thing is maybe he could've slowed the pace down, but Bhop he ain't and its easy to say that from here i'm not the one that has to deal with that tsunami

  • well for one thing, Jafa said that Floyd is a complete boxer and I agree with him 100%, but still won't be enough for Margarito.

Even Tiny Hatton managed to clobber and rock mayweather when the FN referee stepped in and safe that temporary onslaught.

Think of Mayweather's arms how they will feel after Margarito punches the meat to tenderized pulp. Mayweather's arms will drop. Then He will enter the metal shredder and its over.

  • Yeah he was in a tight squeeze...forced to play a role not yet perfected for an entire fight against a guy who's a master @ his style...

  • i always say its not what style you come to the ring with, but how well you xecute that style. cotto seems to be stuck in a halfway house, he's not quiet a brawler, stalker nor a slippery slickster and although he does all those reasonabily well he doesn't do it to the absolute top draw and against monsters like margarito you need at least one tool in the box that very few have in the shed

  • Waddup! GYGB and all the HITMEN on the watch out...damn i knew i was too cynical WHAT A CONTEST! margarito was always gonna be all wrong for miguel angel...yo, super freak physique like raphael saadiq...shout out to wu tang. make some money tony! that was just nasty reminded me of all those drunks on a friday night gorging on a kebab and yes ride or die(do i have a choice) he took more hits then a paris hilton website lol yall think p williams would've taken those?

  • I got floyd vs Marg

    Phorgive and me are Nostrodaumus

the 5.8 felt like a Quintana.....when the Margarito hits thats when you can kiss it goodbye.

I also have Paul vs Marg

Im out to luch; take it easy boxing diehards

  • Godsped fellas...be safe.

  • 5.8 quake in l.a. as i'm typing this...i'll holla back GYGB

  • I wouldnt be kidding about an earthquake. Those things scare the hell out of me. The way I felt during the earthquake that just hit, must of been how Cotto felt when Margarito was coming at him.

  • shoot I thought you were kidding. An earthquake did hit. They are waiting for the aftershock

  • We just had an earthquake of 5.8 here in southern california that shook up the place.

  • Yo gotta tell Margarito to chill, he might destroy little pueblos houses and kill innocent victims. Stop being a monster Tony!

  • Margartio busted Cotto in the nose on the second round because Cotto went for the body. I Vallaeboy as my witness, I said that getting to Margo's body was going to be extremenly difficult. Why? because, Margarito fights with a concave pose making it extremely hard for Cotto to reach.

As far as Mayweather, Again, my feeling is that there is no way Mayweather could beat Margo. He good dance like a grasshopper but Magarito will catch him with one of his T9 punches. PBF will not be able to cope

  • Floyd really is a complete fighter Phor. That would be a tall task...He is super fast. & wen he gets cought he covers & moves so well it's hard to hit him. Then he uses his legs & is out again...on top of that...he's a cardio machine...he won't tire. The only time I've ever seen floyd hurt really was that corely fight when he decided to bang all fight. He wont do it w/ tony. It's tough for me to see him catching up to him.

  • Jafa...If Margarito is Godzilla, then Mayweather is Mothra. Mothra can fly away but eventually, Godzilla fire will burn her wings.

  • (laughing) u r funny bro....I want to actually see it. I hate that we have to dream up & speculate matchups b/c they will never come to pass...

  • Its said, I guess our luck ran out with this last amzing fight. Everything about this fight was better tehn the hype. It was beyond boxing, it was about two human beings respecting, perfecting their craft. Their true identities came out through their art like a musician sings, like a painter paints, these two allowed their true identities to manifest in there art. Floyd may be a complete boxer but these two are complete fighters, complete Human beings

  • yep...Sport is just like art... that's the beauty of it...It reveals who that man or woman is.... You can't hide it...It's on full display,,,,,

  • I hate standing witness.......but the man tells the truth. Pointed it out just like it happened.

  • I'll interpret. He basically said he couldnt get to Margarito's body because Margo was to far outside when they would exchange. Margo's reach kept him outside when throwing punches. They also asked him if the bloddy nose kept him from breathing normal which he did not answer he just said he didnt want to take anything away from Margaritos victory. That margarito fought a great fight.

  • I swear...The respect that these two have been showing one another while on record is beautiful to see...Tony keeps praising miguel as a great fighter. He just keeps saying am great as well as cotto is great. & miguel deliberately doesn't make a single excuse or try to act like it was something it wasn't. These two aere stand up dudes. It's so easy to try to take someones shine from them esp. wen u've been undefeated. & it's easy to try to demoralize ur opp wen the light has avoided u so long.

  • GAld you brought that up. I said it before, these two are real. They have incredible sportsmanship and I would not be surprised if they become best friends for life. This is boxing at its best. That is why these two are my all time favorite boxers. Cotto got hurt be to me, he did not exactly walk out a loser. No FN way. He is still a true warrior, he is still a champ.

  • I actually could see them becomign friends phor. I haven't seen that kind of class in a while "genuine...authentic class" I don't get the feel that they are just putting on for the cameras. It feels real. True gentleman warriors. It alsso shows genuine confidence to me...To be urself & not belittle someone else. The matchup itself created the hype. It's really very good to see. another tenant of the art of war is to respect one's opponent.

  • As much as I hate to say it the only welterweight I see beating Margarito is Mayweather. Unlike Cotto Mayweather can box for 12 rounds.

  • B/c I'd pick Tony against PW doesn't mean he can't beat him... He already proved that he can. A rematch would be explosive btw the 2. One thing I noticed about p.will is that he's very effective as a counter puncher. If u look @ the 1st & 2nd quintana fight. He stalked in the 1st fight got cought w/alot of shot. In the 2nd fight he didn't press he let quintan come to him. Quin still cought him w/ good shots. But p.will seems effective in that role.

  • Cotto said he couldt get to Margarito body and explains why he couldt in a youtube video youtube . com/ watch?v=z1WE1A9nGIs

    must know spanish

  • y don't u interpret for us...I dk spanish... I know wut I read...He sid he wnted to but did not see openings...did not see opportunities

  • @phorgive. You could not be anymore right. The present Margo would stop Williams in the late rounds like he did Cotto. The Margo in that fight with Williams is not the Margo today. That loss to Williams changed Margo for the better which we saw against Cotto. Good points Phorgive.

  • Damn 12watchouts save some of those excuses for the rematch and for the record tony threw and landed more power punches than cotto

  • Homies, Cotto tried to go to the body but everytime he did he got busted up with uppercuts and roundhouse rights. Going to the body means you put
