  • Beautiful Song.. With Built In Rainy Mood. <3

  • i first listened to modest mouse in 2000, my friend and i got stoned, and he played some modest mouse,, absolutely love it, as back then, i loved pot, as im older, i no longer smoke pot. but i still do enjoy modest mouse.

  • 1 person tried to have a picnic on a rainy day

  • too fucking sweet.

  • beautiful song, best band ever isaac is amazing i have every album including all un-recorded.

  • @LifesHavoc i would just like to let you know that you are awesome and i totally agree and me too :D his side project is awesome too. and u should check out sunkilmoon, they have an album thats all covers of modest mouse and its not nearly as good as the originals but its completely different style and still really good and its nice to hear a different take on isaacs songs

  • Float on is way better.

  • @yomomma587957 yeah if you know nothing about the fucking band

  • This song fits today quiet well

  • why do people always say that "they're earlier stuff was better"

that statement doesnt apply to modest mouse imo

they have gotten better with age

modest mouse is a great band all around and they are by far my favorite band

  • very good song

  • This is such an ace song, Modest Mouse are definitely one of my favourite bands of all time, I can't think of an album they've released that hasn't been UltraMegaAwesome, and yes, when it comes to Modest Mouse, that is a word.

  • wow I listened to this song on repeat and it never gets old.... I cannot stop thinking about my friend Alex Binion, who recently passed away... and this song reminds me of her... I dont wanna let go of her, she was amazing... I cannot stop crying, especially as this song plays... Alex, I love you... forever...

  • Every where I go I see people commenting, "everyone thinks their latest albums are all their about!"

If everyone every where is saying that, then none of them are right. Stop stressing over the old/new dichotomy, we're all intelligent and we all like Modest Mouse.

  • you can definitely hear the pixies influence in this song in paticular

  • @jahcksawn the pixies? are they a band associated with modest mouse? :D

  • @Mycological The Pixies are a sort of alternative punk band from the 80s that influenced alot of bands from the grunge era in the 90s because of their gritty sound. Issac Brock has cited them as an influence a few times. Check them out. They are a fantastic band.

  • @mudjunky78 thanks. told me pretty much everything i wanted to know (:

  • @mudjunky78 Isaac's biggest influence is Built To Spill

  • I thought "no ones first and youre next" was closer to their older stuff than good news or we were dead.... maybe thats just me. i dont kno but the more i listen to that ep it grows on me. just like all mm has lol.

  • @hellohell77 im not sure about good news but definitley closer than "we were dead..." with the new studio and Marr in the band itll be very hard to get back to what the fans want.

just to be clear i dont think they sold out. their just evolving and its just not the same

  • you know, i'm glad modest mouse isn't way mainstream. the mainstream doesn't care for the meaning of the music. the meaning behind the lyrics. they don't appreciate every sound in the song. I love modest mouse and I want their music appreciated and respected in every aspect..oh yeah great post man/woman.

  • one of my favorite mm songs ever

  • One of my favorites right here by Modest Mouse. I like the way the music takes over for the rainy sounds (and even the thunder with some cymbals)

  • i know i cant stand how people think modest mouse is good news and we were dead. but their best stuff came out way before that. lonesome crowded west, the moon and antarctica a long drive such good underrated music

  • I REALLY like this song.

  • This song is a rare gem. For all those quiet rainy contemplative days. Something universal in this.

  • the first time i heard MM was when float on was really popular. I thought they were gonna be a one hit wonder sort of band but once I started really listening to them I found how great they really are. MM is my favorite band for sure.

  • yeah, some folks only see the bad side of a band getting bigger (in terms of popularity) but, you know, that way more people discover their other stuff as well. that said, i do hope that the next MM record would be a bit closer to their earlier style :)

  • @THEBIGZED I heard of Modest Mouse through one of my friends, and it was the new stuff and so when I looked it up on Youtube, I used their video channel so I mostly heard their new stuff but when I looked deeper into them I found I liked their old stuff better. Well, half a year later I have almost every album on my iPod. MM is definitely my favorite.

  • @mcneely789 Same here

  • @mcneely789 Me to brother

  • @mcneely789 Modest Mouse (imo) was the start of the ironic phenomenon of indie being massively adored. MM & Garden State. Just my opinion.

  • @mcneely789 same here dude.

  • @mcneely789 same fraking thing! i hear float on like in.. 2006? on mtv. it ws sa decent song, but recently ive looked into (the past 6 months) and i like atleast 96% of the songss ive heard. they fit into my personality, and the lyrics relate to me. by far the greatest band.

  • @mcneely789 same here!

  • @mcneely789 That is an awesome story... Yeah I found out about them around the same time. I've only seen them once in concert, with Man Man, but man they are amazing. I always have time to listen to their songs old and new.

  • @mcneely789

    This song sounds like shit.

  • @mcneely789 Same here. I heard "Float On" a couple years ago, had it for a while, but deleted it. Well, I found it again (Through YouTube, hurpdurp), and I guess I listened to the rest of Good News, then I went to We were Dead, now I'm kinda between "We were Dead" and "Sad Sappy Sucker"

  • Modest Mouse is such an awe-inspiring band...I discovered them when I was 10 years old and 7 years later I still love them!

  • Love it!

  • beautiful song.

  • just heard this for the first time right now and it's brilliant

  • @proof327 you've been modestified. I just made that word up.

  • Comment removed

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i dont supose. downpour downpour

  • you know i died right

  • whoever is listening to this song must have good taste

  • i love you

  • i always enjoy hearing a modest mouse song ive never heard =)

  • @g3rbl Inorite? Modest Mouse songs just keep popping up. This album is sposed to be pretty rare but Itunes has it now.

  • Lots of birthdays

  • Damn thats my Birthday to, and i snagged the 1,000th view.

  • Maybe you'll know, ya know Modest Mouse's song white lies, yellow teeth. Is that just a single, was it on a comp. album or what? I'm trying to do a web show on Modest Mouse, and I want to mention it in one of the eps but I don't know what's going on with it. BTW Thanks for uploading this I've been having trouble finding older MM albums...

  • Well, I found out that "White Lies, Yellow Teeth" is only on a compilation album called "The Giant Rock N' Roll Swindle" (2002). So, no wonder it's a bit rare.

  • @THEBIGZED double you tea eff!? ive never heard of that before.

  • I had been looking for this song on YouTube for a while with no luck (excluding the cover) and here you go and upload it on my birthday... awesome

  • My pleasure :)

The more I hear this song the more I love it.. MM at its best

  • yup they sure are

  • Thanks for the post, it's about time I could listen to this song at work.
