And btw, all this fiery logical debate happens inherently within 'Calvinism' because of it's presupposed magesterial relation to Holy Writ. It's sad to see.
As for the trinity- who could understand it anyway? "Essence" and "Person" mean the same thing. Look up "person" in Strongs (hoopostasis) and see they use they don't use the word 'essence' to define it. What does that mean? It means they are saying there are three persons, yet only one person, which is a logical contradiction. Plenty of scriptures show God has a body. Quoting scriptures that God is a spirit is only part of the equation. Do not spirits live in bodies?
I have never laughed so much in my life, except when Richard made his video "The Bear Truth About Calvinism".
I was wondering why Monty was chasing me on YouTube again, so I thought I would come and have a look at your video once more, because the last time I was here, there were no comments. Oh my wordy- durdy, I have never been so entertained. And "ARedBeetle" - has no channel - it is "unavailable". Serves him right - the wheel turns, doesn't it, my sister!
I think in John 4 where he says "God is spirit" he is not referring to himself.
Why ?
Because (i) there are other examples of Jesus using the word "God" and not referring to himself. (ii) If he were referring to himself, this would mean Jesus said; I am spirit (pneuma) then "a spirit (pnuema) hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have". If he is referring to himself it would appear he contradicts himself.
The Word of God taking on flesh, just might be part & parcel of His Sacrifice for our sakes.Did the Word of God,have a body before He took on human flesh & blood to Suffer the Father's Wrath for our sin?Did the Word, give up His omnipresence to die for our sins? Will His glorified body be an eternal reminder of His sacrifice for us?Yet the Father does not have a 'Body', He is omnipresent, yet a Shikinah pillar of fire & smoke. We're talking about being outside of time & space - another reality.
@aProdigalChild So does God have emotions? Oh, I know I am slow but HOW does one's spirit feed? You say it's a farm yard term for animals. So I would also like to know WHAT animals it refers to. WHICH ones are called feeds? And if you mean to say it refers to their food then I repeat HOW does the spirit feed? Please don't get cutesy and try to squirm out of it by referring to feeding on God's Word, the Bible. For if THAT was what you meant, WHY would you want me to keep my spirit away from it?
@aProdigalChild mumbles at Blogrich55 "...it's not my fault you don't get the twist here Hoggie." As usual, you fail to define terms or use them coherently.
1. If by "twist" you mean the dance craze of the 60's it is outdated and I only have one leg so I can't do it anyway. LOL
2. If you are referring to the Cinnamon Twists at the Taco Bell, SHAME on you for tempting me to go buy some. They are ONLY a block away ROFLOL
The old adage says "Insults are the sign of a defeated foe>" Deal with it!
@aProdigalChild Please Bianca, when you call me Hoggie use my last name Carmichael as well, huh ROFLOL
Man is NOT God. God thinks but has NO BRAIN. God sees but has NO EYES. Must I continue with simple theology 101 with you? Dr Walter Martin once said you could NOT say Jesus was God without saying in the next sentence that Jesus was man. He is the Word MADE flesh. He took a body and dwelt among us. Surely John 1:14 is in your Bible. Why would having a spirit imply NOT having a body? Got logic?
@aProdigalChild I did NOT know I was ever Jordan's mentor. I am sure Jordan does not know it either. LOL
Now I terrorize YT as well, ehhh? LOL So you can't admit you misspelled pound and wrote pond either, ehhh? So then WHAT is a "500 pond" Bianca? LOL
Now the name calling, Hoggie. Do you REALLY think that upsets me? You are like your pal FractalFailures. I just consider the source and it tells me you have NO argumentation left so resort to calling names. A sign of a defeated foe. Game Point
@aProdigalChild (to Blogrich55) "Fallen man is rational? Yes,according to Bloggrich55 he is so rational that he commits suicide with calories."
You need to work on your grammar Bianca. You begin by talking about fallen man. Then you say according to Blogrich55 "he" is so rational that "he" commits suicide with calories. Who is the "he" referring to here?
1. If the "he" refers back to fallen man it doesn't fit.
2. If to ME, WHEN did I say I was committing suicide with calories? Another lie?
@aProdigalChild Notice the lies. Girl, CAN'T you do ANYTHING but use straw man arguments? I NEVER said the "Word has not a Body." I said the Logos or Word didn't have a body in the OT. At least get my position straight. Nice use of the FAT card by the way. Shows you've lost logically and have nothing to say.
@aProdigalChild AHHHH, now we play the FAT card! When all else fails, take a cheap shot. Of course YOU have NO sin. So NOW you are not just new Mormon converts but dabbling in sinless perfection too? FractalFailures must love you!
What is a 500 "pond" Lala Land? Is it like the 5 lakes? I think you mean pound. Spell checkers can be a blessing when you know how to use'm XD
@aProdigalChild says to Blogrich55 "I knew you and the slow ones are lurking.
Like last time, perhaps in a few years you will study and ascend to the fact the Word HAS and always will have a Body."
ROFLOL I think you mean "assent" silly girl:D
Oh and are you and Casey buying a bicycle built for two to use on your new mission for the Mormon Church? Where are they sending you guys to? LaLa Land?? But then IF they did that, you'd just be riding around and around YOUR block wouldn't you dear?LOL
@aProdigalChild Bianca, as you are proving, a fanatic is someone who sticks to their guns when they are out of bullets. Listen CAREFULLY to the advice in the old song and "don't take your guns to town..." ROFLOL
@aProdigalChild Are you obtuse or is your full frontal lobotomy just not working out for you dear? WHO said anything about the Word going "POOF" after He was finished appearing to, say, Jacob? Christophanies were temporary manifestations of the pre-incarnate Christ. Try reading a good theological dictionary. In Genesis 18 all 3 persons appeared in bodily form. So does God the Father have a permanent spiritual body too? If not, did He go "POOF" after it was over?So didJordan converted you guys?
So, (just so I get this straight) when Jesus said "God is spirit" was he talking about himself ? I presume from your video you'd answer "yes". Right ?
@14dicken Take careful note of how Bianca loves to lie and twist facts. She says I went on record for months denying that Proverbs 8 referred to Jesus. I was denying that was absolutely certain and that some (self included) disagreed with that position. What she FAILS to tell you is that I later, after more study, decided I had been wrong. But her type NEVER tells the complete truth. She can't. Like the pit-bull she is, she would rather chew in a frenzy than honestly dialogue. You will see:D
The Bible says we are made in the image of God, if God has no body, then what image would that be? and how can God be sitting on the throne, if he has no body? surely a spirit has no body and would not be able to sit.
@aProdigalChild This is where you are wrong. The Word has NOT always had a body. Christophanies and theophanies were temporary manifestations. Christ didn't have a body all of the time. How much did the Mormon Missionary Handbook cost you and where did you get it? An ex-Mormon missionary gave me mine in Bible College.
So let me ask you; is Mary the mother of God? According to your nonsensical reasoning method, it would seem so. After all, she was Jesus' mother, wasn't she? ROFLOL
The look on your face throughout this video was hilarious. And that chattering music was the perfect finishing touch. When I became a Christian, I often wondered why they kept saying God is a spirit, when all through the Bible I read about these theophanies and Chrstophanies.
On the road to Emmaus, Jesus said "Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” Luke 24:39
Jesus Christ had an incorruptible body, because the Bible says that his body would not see decay, and when he was risen, he still had the nail and spear scars on his ressurected body. But then the Bible also says that he ascended into heaven. In Revelation we are told of his glorified body.
I have always thought the Confessions should take another look at this issue. It does need to be looked at in more depth, because to say that God does not have a body, is to deny that Jesus Christ is God.

Actually, Jesus has a human body. Glorified human body, nevertheless human.
I'm new to this debate, why are the Clarkians not Christians?

@aProdigalChild ,
Your papist friend Afrikitty just contradicted your claim that God is physical.
On a video titled: "Resurrection Challenge--Can You Account For The Evidence?"
She writes, and I quote:
"God is spirit - or do you not know that anymore, hey?"
You two twits cannot even keep from contradicting each other.
Got Logic?
