I actually miss the old blue, yellow, and red scheme. Don't get me wrong, I llove the new solid red with silver roofs, but the nostalgic side of me still loves the old scheme.
It's a damn shame that the company who bought the railway from the original owners, foolishly took the old steam engine #1702 apart because they wanted to use only "vintage" parts, etc. The engine was running just fine prior to their disassembling it and never putting it back together. There was a man who worked for the railroad who was a specialist hired expressly to take care of the old 1702. He finally got tired of the new owners not knowing what they were doing and left to start his own shop
@Strasburg1991 I have no idea. but given that GSMR has invested money in a ready to run Swedish steam locomotive i doubt they have any plans on refurbishing the 1702 or the 722. If you go look at 1702, you can tell it needs a COMPLETE overhaul. It was pretty much completely stripped down to bare boiler barrel, and frame, although the frame was left on the wheel sets. It was being assessed for and overhaul..... I think the management decided it wasn't worth how much money it was going to cost. :(
The videos awesome. Audios alittle off though

Webber362 1 year ago
No, the 1702 was taken out of service in 2004 because more staybolts that the F.R.A. mandates were broken in the span of a year.

However, I do think that if it is sold to another railroad it has a good chance of being returned to service. :)
