I don't know, it looks quite broken to me. Normally an engine is done or almost complete before the development of stages. Just seems like they can't do angular collisions, and event checking properly. Still for cd-i this is very cool.

Maybe it was called Wacky Worlds because, in Mario's world, he's used to the Goombas and Koopas and giant mushrooms and blocks floating in the air and random gold coins and flowers with eyes everywhere, so when he goes into the real word (ours), to him, it's wacky. :) I think that sounds plausible

I think experiments like this are good in a way, but I'm also glad it wasn't released, looking at the footage, it seems very un-marioey, that's the best way I can describe it. The look of the environments just seems out of place in graphical style. It's a cool hidden jewel though.

If you gave it a chance and didn't have other people think for you, you might have liked it too. Fortunately I played it before all this "hating on Hotel Mario is cool" and "Youtube Poop" BS.

Considering Mario didn't even have a voice or much of a personality at that time, it was a good endeavor. Definitely the best game on the CD-i by far, but that's not exactly saying much.

I'm impressed you actually own a CD-i though, most people who dislike the game don't. With the Touchpad controller, the controls are decent.
