If nexon's in it expect to be exploited and ripped off and inconvenienced. That's how they are with all the games, They have more "unscheduled matinence" than regular matinence, they completely ignore the ticket system but for copy/paste monkeys, and they charge you stupidly high amount for premium. And in thier other games like mabinogi and combat arms, the premium WILL give you a stupidly high advantage.

I actually think the premium system has now changed into a noob scamming shop. People who actually want to play the game for what it is (which... isn't much with almost no end game content and a crappy community) buy things that assist you in leveling. But, most people buy the useless pixelated clothing, that goes over your armor and does nothing.

Prove it's overpriced. Prove the misvalue. If people are buying something clearly the price is agreeable to them, and that's what's important. Just because the price is disagreeable to you doesn't mean it's objectively too high. The fact that the same price continues to be charged is proof that it isn't too high, otherwise Nexon would lower it, because not enough people could afford it, and they wouldn't profit enough.

Other games might offer similar features, and probably there are a lot of people who havn't shopped around and so they pay those high prices in ignorance (which is their fault, not Nexon's) but there are beyond any doubt far more people who genuinly prefer maplestory. Probably because it's the biggest and most expansive 2d platformer with the largest, best established community. People are willing to pay more for a brand name, because you can trust a brand name easier.

The people who pay for those sprites value the sprites more than the ammount of money charged for them. I sure as hell can't understand why that's the case, but to each his own. I think purchases like this are only illogical at face value. Entertainment may not be as important as food or a college fund, yet I believe some entertainment and distraction are vital for maintaining sanity. My guilty pleasure is soda. If I know my routine isn't likely to be interrupted by anything interesting a soda or two can provide just the right amount of stimulation for senses that would have gone unexercised, which helps a lot to stave off crippling boredom.

Personally I don't find it a mystery at all that so many people are willing to cough up for Maplestory, despite the fact that many other games supply the same features for less. I think they just like the community. Many games may offer the same features, but few offer the same communities. Maplestory's community is huge and well established and brimming with likeminded people (or so people like you and Twist tell me).

Maplestory is popular... in large because it is popular. Your friends are there, or you're already there with a high level character, or you expect to meet a lot of potential new friends there because the brand is popular. Games like Latale might offer the same features, but how many times a day do you hear about Latale? It's a risk investing in something new. Maplestory is the safe option and hence the demand is high. The demand is high, and therefore so are the prices.

Really you can criticize people's choice in games all want. That's really not the issue. The issue is you calling nexon immoral for charging high prices for something that is in steep demand, something all sensible companies normally have to do just so they can continue supplying. I'm sure Nexon takes every opportunity to lower it's prices, because usually that's how you make the most money. If they havn't, it's because they don't have a choice (or they might just be stupid).

Companies lower prices whenever it will make a profit, which is often. They WANT to get as much as they can from each sale, but they know that they will sell more at a low price, as opposed to less at a higher price, and this can be a big difference. If the price for premium items has gone up that indicates the demand for those items has increased, meaning nexon can safely raise the price without losing sales. That IS the whole point about running a business. Making as much money as possible.

there are games that make there money exclusively from in game advertising. monthly subs. donations. micro-transactions are not the only way to keep a company going. and especially when you start having to pay for necessities i think thats immoral to boast having a free game and then say "oh you want ALL of the game? thats $9.99"

I would have to have an idea just what their income and expenses were before I felt comfortable judging them like that. I am of the opinion that... there are many unethical things that just aren't unethical enough to warrant that kind of attention.

This is certainly one of them. Nexon isn't hurting or enslaving anyone, and when they say their games are free, they are technically correct. It simply wouldn't be cost effective to try and bring companies like nexon to "justice", not simply when the injustice is so trivial it almost isn't there, but when it is so easily avoided by simply not doing business with them. There are also untold thousands of companies just like nexon; impossible to micromanage.

Do not argue that you have to pay $15 a month for WoW.

In MS, it become NECESSARY to buy NX or this game is just a piece of shit. After level 30+, people need items like Money bags, 2x exp etc. And the basically forces you to buy these things. 10k Nexon cash costs 10 bucks. You can get like... 11 Gacha tickets and nothing. In a month you'll be spending more than 30 dollars on the 2-D shit.

Most people who buy that NX stuff on Maplestory must be spoiled by their parents. I'm currently a lvl 31 Ice, Lightning Wizard on this game, and my character looks just fine without the NX clothing. Some of the quests reward you with very good equips which I can appreciate, lol. And the high lvl players really think they're badass with that fancy shit they waste their parent's money on. TRUTH.

Nexon holds to much pride in their half assed side scroller. that, when they release something, it is set into stone unless they can figure out a way to make money off of it. one thing, was right after beta, you could have your characters have blue eyes from creation. soon after nx was released on global they

make the only eye color from creation be black. also, i want to touch on how unbalanced the whole game is. i/l and f/p get fucked every which way. they are easily out damaged by warriors who are vastly superior at boss survival and overall damg output. the elemental wands/staffs which help boost mages dmg by a decent amount can only be gotten from gachapon, at a very small chance at that. average of those weps cost 320million. thats insane for a weapon that goes to class that nexon screws over

one last thing. it took nexon not 1, not 2, but 3 patches at an hour-2 hours each to get the elemental wands/staffs working right. how incredibly difficult can it be to make it give a certain element 1.25% dmg and the other ones .75% dmg. nx costs way to much, and pets are rediculously expensive. 12 dollars to buy a dragon egg, 5 dollars to name it, 10 dollars to buy stuff to make it actually usefull. and then most people spend about 5-10 dollars on cloths for it. enuff said!

I played it for a while got addicted, than the horrible horrible grind made me crt. xD They released this monster carnaval thing that made lvling a lot nice and basicly was a grind fest competition which is hilarious but it gave an event style to it, I liked party uests as they were unique with puzzles. I would like to see 3d mmo's make use of maybe party quests with puzzels and such not just like kill! Which is weird cause typically thats the main problem with maplestory.

When I go into party quest or any type of places were you battle it out like a dungeon or any place to kill on my low level warrior, people are extremly mean.

But when I play on my lv 79 fire poisen mage, people around me seem alot more nicer, they act like respectful teenagers (most are right?) And its just fine :) So i guess people treat newbies worst?

Btw Those story line really matter? People play games just for the fun of it, I don't think people really care about story line.

but every game just seems that they need to make a living. yes WoW is probably one fantastic game and having it for 15$ a month seems quite ok. For maplestory you are already given a f2p. such as WoW is 10 days F2p and lets be honest how far can u go for 10 days. so just paying for simple stylish clothing in maplestory seems more then enough fair for them to make a living. attidude toward. where as this game it sounded as if you wante to murder it. and comming back to the graphic system here u said it rather sucked because its a bunch of pixels but looking at the grand chase review being one of your highest reviews and seeing how theirs only one purpose as well to the gaeplay is just killing. maplestory seems way bigger then grand chase and it certainly shows. the game is big. i understand about the bullshit pay users.

Well i agree on the annoying grinding system is just horribly annoying but as far as the gameplay went u should have told about party quest which i actually fnd extreemly fun even after the 10th time. If its possible for your up comming reviews try to join a private server to get the feeling of what a high lvl character is. because u playing as a warrior during that time is understandable how boring it can get. in most reviews you approched each game as if it were new to you so you gav a content

Back during the time when I play beta, everyone was so nice and would help each other do quest and stuff.

Today however is quite different, the community is override by high lvl's prick, scammers, ksers, and N00bs but mostly N00bs(so many words can describe this I don't even want to bother)

This game is so heavily base upon cash that you won't get without using real money. There are so many advantages for cash users.

In my opinion, save your time, money and soul by not playing this game.
