  • Thats legit

  • I LIKE THE RAINBOW KEYBOARD STRAP

  • @AbelNightroad77 I LIKE IT TOO

  • this is awesome! Although it would have been better had they left the original screen in and maybe instead of using parts from a G3, used parts from an older iMac.

  • thus it begun

  • damn thats insane dude

  • You sir. You ROCK!!

  • wtf OS X?

  • @vmelikian OS X is the 10th operating system made for mac. At least that's what I think it is.

  • He changed the hardware you cannot run it on the old system without better hardware FAIL

  • Epic win

  • Classic !

  • Why not use an original keyboard? I'm sure it would be possible with some rewiring. The big blue thing doesn't really match lol

  • That's sweet. But i'd be a tad bit worried about overheating.

  • its not mac os x he modded the software to look like it because no computer of that age will accept it

  • @MrSuperman787 read the description dick its a g4 inside

  • @MrSuperman787 ar-tard, it's a hacked G4 inside. Read the discription

  • How you can run OS X on your old beige mac?

  • @tweetyaja it has g4 internals

  • You know what, the origial probably booted faster !

  • @bejius probably - although from a floppy…

  • @bejius

    It did!

  • Fucking nice

  • what the hell?

  • que lixo!!!!

  • NIce to see old hardware being re-used, with up to date software

  • see the "personal computer "" from the video EXCLUIDODIGITAL !

  • a very odd computer!

  • the new personal computer from apple.

  • Too bad the screen is so damn small. I don't see the point.

  • i want one

  • Please tell me you didn't kill an old mac just to do this, if it was already dead then AWESOME JOB!

  • THIS IS AWESOME! I never thought of doing this! I want a vintage computer now!

  • people would shit brix if you showed this computer to them shortly after the release of the real macintosh se

  • Huh, that keyboard looks kinda like a Commodore 64!

  • Nvm, didn't look at the video fully

  • I know this is going to ruin the quality but, make the floppy slot a little bit bigger and hook up an external CD-roms to it. Like put one of those small CD-roms into it and bam

  • Macintosh. The computer for the rest of us ;-)

  • It looks like a snack machine....

  • Didn´t Steve said that in one of he´s speeches? That all Mac OS´s can on the oldest Mac? :P

  • All that white everywhere, what have you done wrong? It looks like youve been banished to that place in THX1138

  • apple 3 failed

  • lol. i remember the first time i heard a Mac startup sound...my first reaction was "wtf?" lol.

    "Duuhhnnn...."

  • What's the deal with the keyboard w/ the carry strap? And where can I get one? :)

  • Nice hack.

It looks like an Ohio Scientific keyboard, from back when people had to write software for their personal computers, which came in blue metal cases (IMSAI, Altair, Processor Tech Sol-20, and the Ohio Scientific). Apple and Commodore (the Commodore Pet) were notable exceptions.

  • i actually used to own an osi challenger c4p. it didn't have a removable keyboard, though i believe that other osi models did. wow, good times, struggling to make the most out of 8k back then...

  • Nam that thing is hideous hahaha

  • hello, this is amazing.

  • The guy gutted an older Mac (128k?) and put a G4 Cube's innards in it. He then proceeded to install Mac OS X on said innards.

  • damn that is a nice computer lol

  • that old Apple III? Cool!

  • What LCD did you use? I have a 512k and a Mac Mini and have been dying to do this, but can't find a display that will fit.

  • hahaha man

  • thats pretty badass! nice job man

  • Mac OS Tiger can't run on a compuer like this. Only the case is used.

  • omg takes upgrading to a whole new level

  • Sure you're not just using the Mac Plus as an external monitor?

  • no,there a mac mini inside it!

  • not a mac mini, it's a custom job using the parts of a G4 Cube.

  • you're right,I haven't read the description

  • A neg mark? It's more feasible that running OSX in the Mac Plus 'shell' and saying it's as Mac Plus running OSX, right? It's like one of those track cars with a giant engine inside and fibreglass Chev flip body. It's not really a Chev, it just looks like one. But judos on time spent

  • Amazing!

  • oh my god! you should be a pro engineer :D

  • This takes the meaning of the word "upgrade" to a whole new level.

You put G4 inside that thing? It means that it can play Halo. Have you tried it?

  • no it is not fake someone took a old mac ripped it apart and put new parts in it. Smart idea when you you have someone that comes over to your house and they say lets play halo then you take them to a old computer and they say how is this going to run halo it is a old piece of junk. turn it on and it is a g4 LOL

  • no, he just put modern parts inside that case

  • oh... explained!

  • LOL

  • That must be a very high resolution screen..

  • Wow that is awesome. As a kid I had a Macintosh SE, and I dreamed all the time that I could replace the guts and screen. WOW you actually did it! Kudos to you!

  • Do you have color graphics because that thing with system 3.2, 32 bit graphics card and color QuickDraw can go up to 32 bit true color

  • read the blog linked in the description. it's not a Mac 128k at all, it's built from G4 parts on the inside. the display is a flat lcd, not the original b&w crt.

  • Nice job - Where did you find a 9.5 " LCD screen for this?

  • It came with it but he could have moved its internals to another Mac except for the display or he did move the display and got another one off of ebay or somthing

  • its a stupid thing to turn a 5.25 inch drive to a slot loading cd-rw drive! cd's suck so much!

  • Its a 3.5 inch

  • I think it's a combo or a superdrive isn't it?

  • 2.x Mb vs. 700 Mb - guess wich offers most space.

  • it would be cool if cd-roms look like floppy disks and the way you insert them is the same way as you insert a floppy disk.

  • yall are stupid it says in the description that its a G4 on the in side

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • try reading the description.

  • joe gtfo the internet

  • Comment removed

  • Hello, dumbass, its a MAcintosh case with the innards of a g4 cube, GTFO the internets.

  • Comment removed

  • It wasn't this is os x.

  • how more fake can that be it dosnt even have a color screen. I know, I have one

  • Not fake. Only the case is used.

And if you have one, wouldn't you know the power switch isn't on the front?

  • wow thats pretty amazing!

  • I should make one of these.

Also that is one old school keyboard.

  • Hello, my name is JHON, i from to Colombia, a quiestion: Since it(he) did it? tk

  • ZOMG! Imagine using this in an office. People would be terrified to see it running Leopard! Hahaha!

  • I want one!

Fricken mac mini with a screen!

    but better!

YAY FOR OLD SKOOL GOODWILL MACS!

    :D

  • wasn't the old mac in black and white? or is it the colour classic?

  • replaced the origional CRT display with a LCD

  • sweet keyboard!

  • Ah, I've seen that before, you put a mac mini inside and it's awsome!

(I have seen you have cut the floppy drive bigger to fit CDs and DVDs ) :)

  • i love the 3.5 mod!! i have one of thoes in my attic im gonna make it run vista now hell yes!

  • is that real?

  • too bad the resolution on that thing sucks or that would be badass

  • that would be the shit if it could run windows

  • Dude, it is a mac.

  • wtf is this ??!?

  • i think that you need a new computer :p

  • a mac mini inside this

  • Lol maybe, he could've just put a G4 processor in it like he said. :P

  • i mean old not ild so old ok?

  • omg thats so cute :D

    awesome :3

  • so you kept the body and replace the parts in the inside. Because when that model was out Macintosh did not have a disk drive. That slot was a floppy slot. But it's still cool. If the parts that you put in our PowerPC processor then you can run OS 9 and OS X I don't know about OS 8. Maybe.

  • whats with the rainbow color strap?

  • that's the old apple logo!!

  • sorry I thought you meant the little square on the monitor, the strap it's probably sold to be more accessible to carry the keyboard? I have no idea =P

  • wtf!

  • its just apple 'case_hack_ demo' ;P

  • oh snap i remember that thing

  • so you put a slot loading Dvd

512 megabits of ram or more (os x requires at least 512 mbs or more

    a bigger hard drive

    Power pc g4

    COOL

  • ya, pretty much

  • haha thats great!

  • i was going to do that too... but with a mac color classic

  • and i was going to put an iSight in the little hole in the top,

make it internet capable, put a CD drive in it, and etc.

  • i would love to see you run final cut on that machine

  • fake duh

  • how is it fake its been gutted from the inside and a new motherboard has be put inside it. A g4 cpu the video says, I seen it been done with a mac 128K & Mac mimi

  • wtf

  • THATS AWESOME!!

  • HAHAHA!! thats so awesome!

  • uhh omg. leopard on freak machine. haha. how WEIRD/

  • I would just use a regular Mac keyboard with that. :)

  • or, just stick a mac mini in there

  • how do u doit???

  • DUDE....!!!! TELL ME HOW!!!!!!

  • damn...what the fuck's up with that music!!!?!??! that's TIGHT!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD DO THAT IN MY LECTURE CLASESS!!!!!!

  • that hilarious :-) 5 stars

  • where's the bong?

  • lmao i love that show

  • Hmmm Restoration???

  • nice job !

  • Sir you are of utmost awesomeness.

  • I just got a ADB keyboard and mouse for my Mac SE/30. And it's got a cool black and white aquarium screensaver. I just leave it running. lol

  • lol the first mac?

  • Too bad you don't have a ghetto keyboard to go with it.

  • woh! how? ,,,, is this real?

  • I had a Mac mini placed in a Macintosh Classic, and it worked. It runs Mac OS 10.3.7 natively on the G4 system.

  • Im not quite sure how you did that, but my theory is that there is a MacMini in there, and maybe a a small USB or even Bluetooth mouse inside that really old one. Or you could just be a super genious, and I could be wrong. Anyway I'd love to know hwo you did that,

  • the whole process is documented: machack2000 . blogspot . com

  • How much would it cost to do that to my Mac SE, bfindoradin? Did you put a mini in it?

  • i didn't use a mini, i used the guts of a G4 Cube... it cost me around $700 the LCD was pretty pricey.

  • Not to me. I found a nice Panasonic 9 inch LCD at a local Electronic Express. It cost me 241$.

  • i'm talking $700 total for everything

  • loved it

  • Why are you using an Altair keyboard?
