it has free programs included on it that are compatible with documents of that type, its capable of what windows does and more.

Yeah, friend told me Asus made his own distro of Ubuntu od Debian (I think he said Ubuntu), to work optimized to the Eee's hardware, but I think what I see here is KDE, it's certainly not Gnome. Gotta visit Wiki once more.

Here's what I got: "the Eee PC runs a custom tab-based interface.", and the interesting thing is that in the box on the right it says Linux OS, but Linux link leads to Xandros, and it says: "The Xandros GUI uses a modified version of KDE", but also, it continues: "which includes replacing Konqueror with its own proprietary file manager called XFM". Maybe they're bad guys :-)

HEH @ OSX and XP comments, sorry guys this is a bloat free machine so neither OS will work.

XP will and does work. Asus stated that the EEE would be able to run XP flawlessly, and I've already seen pictures of a black EEE that ran XP on a russian Site. It's just cheaper to ship the device without an expensive piece of sh*t... ahem... I meant Software from Redmond.
