@ChibiSugar this may be the firewall blocking the access or it could be the actual wireless internet thats blocking the access to allow the ethernet. Try doing it again but with your firewall switched off, then turn the firewall back on after your sharing internet is successfull

@bryanman476 it depends on the firewall, you can add an exception in the settings for the port, you may have to do this on your router. I normally have 2 firewalls, one thats on 'allow all' and then the second firewall which is for protection for my laptop which is set to medium.

@hammerawesome you dont really need the check boxes, just make sure that the 'allow other network users to connect through this connection' in the wireless internet setting and make sure this is local area connection, and your ready to go

basically in your wireless wlan connection, right-click it and then click on share, or it should have the properties but and then just click on allow anything to connect thru here, or allow other wifi to connect thru this one

and your xbox should find it and connect to it

@Devlindreams just find the ethernet port connection name, if you dont have the ethernet port at all, it might be your ethernet card needs re-installing

@hyperShadicDhedgehog hi, go into control panel, then into your firewall, then go into exceptions and add a new port called xbox and open it to allow all connections in one of the tabs, then tick the box.

@patrickills22 hi, basically you dont need the xbox boxes, thats just for your computer to remmeber what the ethernet port is connecting to. Just click on your local area connection and highlight it with the wifi connection, then right-click and click on bridge connection

For all those not able to see the Xbox in the services list and get an IP error message when trying to connect, you need to set the IP settings to Automatic on the Xbox and then the Xbox will connect fine and show up in the services list. G

No xbox live isnt free. You need an account and membership already but in order to play that account you need to make sure that your Xbox has internet connection through it. This is just a way to do it when your router is not near your xbox
