  • 1:18-1:25 Wooooow O.O

  • 240p, we meet again.

  • That is so cool

  • Man I cannot wait to get into this industry!

  • @Daelmyth Oh trust me.. You'll do a lot of waiting

  • @Josiah77 I know what you mean. Start school this fall for my bachelor's.

  • @Daelmyth I quite filmschool after a year once I realized what can of BS it was.. But to each their own

  • @Josiah77 I'm not going for film and cinematography. I'm going for digital media. Composite and matte painting and digital editing.

  • How do I download videos from their site? Digital Domain? Please answer, its for a project.

  • I use to complain about 240p. Then I took an arrow in the knee

  • lol 240p

  • Digital Domain is the best Effect Studio i've ever seen.

  • @TheOrigamiProd I agree but ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) is not bad either.

  • Very interesting I really like how they made the ship!

  • why 240p??!?!??!?!?!??!!

  • what's name of BSO in minute 2:38 ?

  • @krapsi1993 i found it, its Track 2 Singapore xD

  • O.O

  • OMG!!

  • 240p is the future of high definition.

Be amazed by the incredible detail of 240p - realer than real life!

    Hee hee.

  • CGI is all about layers. You start with the basic model or simple background 'plate' then you keep adding elements - clouds, water, light reflection, skin/uniform texture etc. It's similar to music production where you keep adding tracks to the original track and you end up with the completed song. If you're artistic and have the software I doubt it's that difficult to do. Of course you need the talent in the first place. :)

  • The stairs scene is like, awesome. I spoke.

  • @remmahsroht No its compositing 3D graphics with live footage

  • 240p???

    why??? why???

  • what is the song?

  • @JORGALLY007 the song is: tenet teneneenet teneneenet tenoneeet! tenoneenet teneneenet tenoneenet tenoneeet! teenet teneneenet teneneenet tenoneet! toneneenet teneneenet tenoneenet tenonet!

  • 240p why do you tease me :(

  • is there anyway i could do these effects at home on my computer?

  • @marneebox

If you have the right programs and if you spend years learning them, yes.

  • Pretty inspiring for a wanna' be filmmaker.

  • 240p ?????????????? This is an insult !! :(

  • Which's the difference between the blue and green cloth

  • @lirihtco Basicly the green requires less lighting. However the blue is better to be used outside, as it goes with the sky and also in certain circumstances you won't delete the grass while chroma-keying. One more point is also the personal choice of the filmmaker as well as clothing design (on green you can't wear green, and with blue, blue).

  • it's so my dreams!!!! i wanna grow up and be an animator and do something like this!

  • @fairlydogcat u and me both!

  • how did you get this ? awesome...

  • ya but still the movie was lame.effects alone make not a movie great

  • when the camera rotated for the slow mo of ship distuction...how is the actor 3d ?

  • @youmasora because he is 3D. That shot wasnt to close up so with the smoke and the eye on the destruction it takes the audience away from the fact he is actually 3D

  • Good job on video quality.

  • wtf the whole movie is done on the computer? did they even film anything for real

  • @tenniscalif1 --- who the fucker u r ?dont u have any idea about 3d animation.,.,or visual effect ?

  • my dropping jaw punched a hole in the floor.

  • i never gave much thought as to how much of the background was real and how much was not.

  • Great VFX :)

  • *--------*

  • Hey everybody if you like visual effects and software please follow me on my new twitter @jvalbarr

  • O. M. F. G. That is amazing.

  • @JSDlive more than amazing

  • Chuck Norris can do this with Paint.

  • @DefilEHousE Are you kidding? Chuck Norris can do this with WordPad.

  • eeeeeeepic *__*

  • Very good!

  • I've got more respect for the guys who make this then the snobby actors and rich producers.

  • Awesome.

  • this looks great! but the last film "on stranger tides" the graphics seemed like they lacked compared to the first 3. i don't know why.

  • @poonjoonoob According to IMDB the producers wanted to reign in costs and bring the series back to its roots. The see On Stranger Tides as the beginning of a new trilogy and if costs kept going up the way the were with the last three, there'd be no chance of them making money haha

  • very good work

  • I'm OUT!!!!! WTF

  • FreddieW need to work harder!

  • Well, I guess animation has well and truly got the point where I can't tell the difference anymore...

  • amazing comp

  • cool intro...

  • actors and actresses must be bored with making of the awe.there is a lot of scenes that it cant be made as a real and at real sets. But at on stranger tides, almost all the sets are real its awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • and didnt these effects make the movie that much more better=]

  • its just collor correction, i can do that 2 ;P

  • 9 people used the mask tool to animate the whole thing instead of using greenscreen.

  • what software do they use?

  • 9 people dont known After Effects :D

  • amazing adobe skills XD!!

  • Can't wait for the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean!!

  • @TheGameStrike Well, I'm going into the cinema tomorrow to see it!

  • hollywood baby ;D

  • Woooowwww!!!

  • I knew this wasnt real!!!!

  • Dayum!!

  • Awesome vid!!

    Thanks -3

  • 1:42 hm... i will try do this at After effect :D

  • That's really quite depressing.

  • technology is amazing 8)

  • @thenumber49 : but cannot help a crappy movie becoming a good one. As far as I am concerned, my interest in this franchise stopped about 30 minutes after the start of the 2nd one on screen, when I started thinking "nice visuals, but where's the script?"

  • @thenumber49

Nay, the people who made technology and are proficient in it are amazing

  • @thenumber49 Oh...Hell to the yes...

  • @thenumber49 Technology is very simple. Great work of editors is amazing

  • Visually these three movies were amazing...other than that they very dull.

  • @TokyoNerd

On the first watch, I didn't like Dead Man's Chest and At World's End that much, but the second time I say them, I thought they were amazing!

  • can osmeone tell me the name of this soundtrack????? plz????

  • @prabhathmbbs2012 the name is :"up is down"

  • can someone please tell me the name of this soundtrack...

  • amazing package terrible inside...

  • superb, thnx..

  • Those effects are amazing. Too bad the movie was terrible.

  • pro pro pro.............

  • what is the name of that song

  • MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

  • @DannyBoredoms That is over 9000 my good sir!

  • @DannyBoredoms yeah i don't get that, don't u just have to pay the program and it's basically millions and millons of your time gone? or do you have to pay as you make the fx?

  • @jeehoondevil No, you pay the program once, but if you are playing games you got to know that those ones cost millions (for example the production costs for GTA IV is $100 million). The 3D effects in a movie look even realisticer than in a game. It is not one guy, but a whole team which is working on the 3D effects. You also have to pay the actors and director millions. You have the costs of pre-production (the guys who narrate the story and choose the locations and the dresses). And a lot more.

  • @DannyBoredoms If you have a rich uncle who will borrow you $300 million. You can make the same movie :P

  • @DannyBoredoms Budget: 1) 140 000 000$ 2) 225 000 000$ 3) 300 000 000$ 4) 175 000 000$ TOTAL: 840 000 000$ for 4 films

  • @DannyBoredoms ......what is?

  • @DannyBoredoms Per second.

  • Digital Domain isn't that James Camerons company

  • @navylaks2 It used to be but Michael Bay bought it a while back if I remember correctly

  • HOLY SHIT?!?

  • pirates of the carribean really pulls it off well

  • this is pretty cool

  • that is so cool.

  • software used?

  • @happygamestvfun1

A lot of softwares to make the composition, I think they used Maya, Combustion, and others

  • I admire these kinds of visual effects. I hope to one day be able to make these.

  • @ScreamoBaptism Good luck, son.

  • @hasselett Thanks, Dad.

  • 1:56 - How did they key THAT??? Look at the wrinkles in the bluescreen... Hats off to the production team on POTC.

  • @no1GeorgeBarnett they didnt key it.. they cut that part away with a mask cause that part of the screen wasnt needed.

  • Up is Down

    O.O

  • FAB! taking us to worlds we can never reach but it's so enticing...

  • Digital Domain Rules!

  • cool!

  • So amazing. To think filmmaking has enhanced and progressed so much within only the past 15 years. I can't wait to see what the future holds for visual effects.

  • wow this is beyond awesome!!

  • amazing how they do all this

  • @lemorlenny It all depends on the colour palette of the main focal point (the ship and crew).

  • The software is just a tool that is worthless if you don't have the artistic skills and abilities to use it. It takes many years to master those programs it's not just oh look I downloaded it for free now i'm gonna make special effects like those on Pirates of the Caribbean. I've seen many people try and their stuff sucks.

  • Why sometimes used green screen and others blue screen?

  • @lemorlenny because of the way the scene is setup and what colors are in the scene because if your filming a forest/field you would most likely use blue because of all the green around you just research chromakey on google

  • This made me jizz... just a little at 0:37

  • The best visual effects are those you don't see!

  • Check my teaser trailer and do comment all of you , SOURCE FILES WILL BE GIVEN ONE BY ONE for u to learn efficiently if enough hits are reached !

  • Royce Mathew

  • The ppl who pressed dislike have some ERROR in their heads!

    this is awesom!!

  • Just Google For Aries-Films and get your copy of VideoCopilot Optical Flares NOW... its finally cracked and only at aries-films file section

  • This is astounding! The lengths that technology has advanced is incredible! But wow, I knew CGI was amazing, but seeing this firsthand...I don't think I have enough adjectives to describe how flabbergasted I am right now!

  • at the end when they fell of the waterfall they ended up in davy jones locky finding jack

  • you can just download it for free on the net. :X

  • I use to have a lot of respect for ILM... until everything started being done in the computer. Now special effects are no longer impressive to me because I know it's all digital. What made great effects movies like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and King Kong is the fact that all of the special effects were organic real things created to perform in-front of a camera. I miss those days sometimes...

  • wooww amazing

do you know what career I need to study to do that?

    animation and visual effects?

    digital effects?

    i really wanna know :)

  • wtf? a lot of these scenes I thought it was on film actually happening but besides the people, everything is animation lol.

  • Sick and awesome!

  • Unbelievable!

  • wow... genial..!!thank you..!!

  • just great!:-D

  • what does cgi short for?

  • @kuratowakiru Computer Generated Imagery

  • Superr!!

  • thank you for share

  • whoa that is cool

  • @MrLayboy85 It's called Up is Down.

  • hey nice video we visit the site fix

  • what is the name of the song

  • BTW the studios that made the effect could range from 1 to many. Also ranging the software used.

Studios use Commercial software and in house software made by them of another place.

Common Commercial is Apple Shake, Nuke, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro, Avid, Maya, SplutterFish, and Vue 3d, Maybe More.

Common in house that depends. Search for Zeno, and PRMan "PhotoRealistic RenderMan".

  • From cameras to TVs that footage has been through many programs some the public can get easy some harder.

Its not only the program that you see at work yes it helps the productivity but its the hard work people went thought to make every single pice of wood chip that flew off that railing. Maybe some of it is computer calculated but i don't think so. Even so its still a lot of hard work.

  • oh and for all thous guys that ask what softwere they use, thous are not sony vegas or after effects thous are 1000 dollers programs

  • stupid? they use node based programs for 500k

  • And after effects is not a $1000 program.

Check adobe again. Remember add tax.

  • @MacBookGuy91 after effects is good and proffesional but not for this kind a movies if you use after effects peapole can tell it's a green screen and thats shity

  • by the way, after effects is allready a 1000 dollar program and up.

those effects have benn made by 3d-animation programs, like maya, cinema 4 d, 3ds max and 3d-tracking programs like boujou bullet or Icarus and finally a compositing program like after effects or sony vegas. so guys, after effects and sony vegas are just used to composite all those special elements together, wich were made by the programs above.

  • @Lulatsch24 wow realy?, well i didn't know that, realy?, now dude i know that and i gerenty no seirious film company uses affter effects

  • @MrRpgmakerkid yes, really. after effects and sony vegas are there only to composite the animations together. so yes, they use it. they are not the most important programs but they use it.

  • @Lulatsch24 i was sarcastic i knew that

  • this is probably the most expesnsive comedy ever

  • wow.

  • awesome stuff, it must be really great doing this for a living, its hard work i know but it must be quite satisfying in knowing you've worked on some of the most amazing visual effects movies to come out must be pretty cool

  • this is so fucking true!

  • I'm sure Andrew Kramer is behind all that stuff, he's the fucking master :D

    Nice clip!

  • wow do they still use flopping sheets to simulate the ocean?

  • Tizià nce niente de spinto su sto commento tranqui!

  • what software did they use?

  • @rahj8786

    you mean , what softwaressss

  • use your common sense! idiot...

  • Autodesk Inferno, I think...

  • sweet

  • did they use Video Copilot

  • surely NOT.. man they are digital domain^^

  • @VickRick123 r u retarded? why would a multi billion dollar movie franchise use video copilot?

  • @tosb38 CUZ THEY FEEL LIKE IT exclamation point. YA DIGG
