1. HOW can anyone base his beliefs on a product (scripture) of a time during which people had very low reasoning and understanding ability of the things around them (read earth is flat land floating in water and hanging stars from an inverted bowl of sky)? Haven't we come a long way from 1st century by figuring out the relation of various things and their interactions in nature and space? If we chose to not star-gaze, we would still be believing earth is flat among many other things.

Stop reiterating what was written in some books for centuries together hoping for something to happen. That's an absolute waste of time and if God exists, he would be utmost unhappy with the way people waste time on their version of God. Act towards designing a better future. Meaning, improvement of technology for sustainable future and abundance.

@anticomuna What I was saying is obvious. I would suggest you to stop asking me and instead, open up your thought to grasp the larger picture.

Considering beliefs as "truths" is the choice a human being makes. And in many cases people stick to that choice as it is imposed on them through their environment as they grow up. Religious aspect of zeitgeist, for me, is a collection of radical thoughts aimed against such established belief systems we are programmed to believe in.

If you did your research you would find out that not until the 19th century did a popular amount of people believe that in the Middle Ages people believed that the earth was flat, this lie was spread by Washington Irving in his fantasy The Life and Voyages of Christopher Columbus in 1828. 2.When people were lacking rational explanation to understand the things they see, doesn't it make sense that, they believed in fabricated explanations (stories about Gods) manifested through their imagination merely based on their experiences/observations? Obviously, such stories would answer their questions about life and everything thus related but none of them were unpredictable revelations even to the people of their own time. They consisted of easy ways out for all the questions. MIRACLES.

Such stories (about miracles of Gods) merely serve to satisfy people's thirst for answers to many questions (some of which we yet have to know) until someone who looks at things in a different perspective (Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, etc) using contemporary technology and unbiased interpretation of observations, with more profound reasoning, for the rest of the world to see and understand. Let's gain knowledge through EXPERIMENTATION and OBSERVATION but not through irrelevant SCRIPTURES.

Gnosticism is satans lie in the garden of eden... that if you gain special divine knowledge (gnosis) you can have God consciousness or become enlightened... and all the guys Bodhi just names, Manly P Hall and the like are luciferian, gnostic, satanist, etc...all the same thing in the end...you become "your own god". Don't put your hopes up high that Mettinger will save your myths. If he claimed that there are no resserection gods before christianity, that can be easily disputed. go to those sites. Did you miss the part that Mettinger was a scource for Acharya S. Is it a strong argument when your sources disagree with you? She did the same earlier in the series when she quoted the greek word for "resurrection" which is "anastasis," which correctly means "to stand again" or "to be upright" again. I suppose if you're a pagan, saying something in another language changes its meaning, but to us greeks, "anastasi" means "resurrection" plain and simple.

In fact, in Greek Orthodox Christian mass, during Easter, there is a hymn we sing known as "Christos Anesti" which literally means "Christ is Risen."

Why is Acharya S quoting the greek words for the topics she is covering? In this video, she said "He's called 'parthenos'"

Being greek, I can tell you that the word "parthenos" simply means "virgin," and not, some sort of "mystery virgin" as she would have us believe.

depends on wether your using old "street" greek. The new testement was written in this language, like the english bible being written in old english. so in old steet greek, "parthenos" could mean "mystery virgin". so again when you critique her greek, are we speking of modern greek or ancient greek?
