I love how these girls aren't stick figures, and they still dance amazingly. It is proving a point to other dance studios who don't accept you unless you're anorexic.
OH my gosh I'm so jealous of you people.I can't do half that stuff but I must be good at something since my ballet teacher picked me for a lead part in our show this year. I can't believe it. I hope I don't fall on my face on the stage now.
@PunkBallet well maybe you should start out at a lower level studio and then work your way up, your insturctors will teach you the basics and then work on leaps like these. thats what i did. if you want to get into dance, go for it, it is remarkable and so rewarding. best of luck :)

@PunkBallet technique is important to get into dance academy , but it's mostly about your potential and if have the ear for music and flexibility and of course passion :) x
i always loose my balanc eat teh end company tryouts are comming up and i want my leaps to be perfect i have gone from hardly being able to do one piorette turn to being able to do a lot of piorettes(sorry theses words are hard to spell!)and a combination of switch leaps and more advanced turns and even a standing firebird and i would be able to do a turnig one if i could keep my balance! any help or suggestions?

i cant get my opposite leg up completely!
rawrxrawr1324 2 years ago
I would've thought a tour jete would've been a different leg movement.

At my dance studio we start backwards and then we wont have to like to that extra switch kick and we call it the firebird as well.
Love2Dance233 2 years ago
we call those kinds of leaps off centers. and this kind of jump we call a scorpion
ybtdncr0 2 years ago
what is the leap called where the front leg is the same as a front leap but the back leg is touching your head??
ICantHearYa14 2 years ago
i think it is called a calypso, fan leaf, adduite leap
hannahch3n 2 years ago
There are a few: the firebird and the calypso. But in a calypso, your back leg doesn't touch the head because it's in an attitude. :]
duckieluver22 2 years ago
wow that one was beautiful.. can you please put chase, chase, firebird leap? same thing, simply without the turn. i would like to see your technique.
