  • Nice project. Very nice video too. Short and to the point and pretty nice video quality and audio.

  • @98eck ... Thanks, glad you enjoyed.......Donald

  • Hi There

You were talking about extending the hitch out about a foot right?

Looks like the way you made the hitch you can flip it around either way and have it short or extended. Good job on the hitch!

  • @slightlybent47 ... After trying it out a few times I found out I could see the ball very well in either position so it worked out better than I figured. You are the first to notice that I could turn it around. Very good observation.........Donald

  • so the wiring dose not get messed up you should wrap the wiring around the trailer at least one more time

  • @iloveboats1 ... I'll do that, thanks.......Donald

  • so the wiring dosen't get wet you should wrap the wiring around trailer at least one more time

  • Nice job Donald!!

  • @mrva99 ... been putting some heavy loads on it and it's been working great. Thanks......Donald

  • Don't be so modest, you do nice work.

  • @webmoov ... it hasn't fallen apart yet so I guess I did OK. Thanks...... Donald

  • don't forget to take the hitch off when you do not need it so it does not get rusty

  • @iloveboats1 ... 99% of the time there is a tool hooked on the tractor....... Donald

  • don't forget to take the hitch off when you do not need it so it does not get rusty

  • nice welds thats awsome and awsome workshop

  • @palmerballer1 ... the first bead is usually OK then it's down hill from there. lol..... Donald

  • you should also put a spot to attach the safety chains

  • @iloveboats1 ... the hitch will mostly be used to move trailers around the place. When doing that you don't even lock the ball...... Donald

  • Great vid Donald. Interesting. I looked forward to seeing it in demonstration. Awesome how well it worked. Now machining and some welding skills are just what I need.

  • If I can do it, anybody can......... Donald

  • man i like your videos. hope you never stop making them. i look forward to them.

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed it........... Donald

  • You said that having that receiver on there will open the door to a lot of different attachments that you can buy or build...

You got somethin' in mind there?? Do you have some things up your sleeves that you plan on surprising us with??

Can't wait for the next video!!!!!!!

    -Joanthan

  • Hey Joanthan ... I do have something in mind but that's a little ways down the road. Imagine an Earthway planter mounted in a frame ... would sure make planting quick and easy......... Donald

  • Thanks, enjoy all your videos. Keep them comming.

    Ransom

  • You're welcome Ransom ....... Donald

  • Very thorough showing anyone with enough interest to learn can do something they are not familiar or comfortable with :)

  • Thanks ......... Donald

  • fantastic idea guess what im doing this week

  • Will be time well spent........... Donald

  • Love your show..

  • Thanks ........ Donald

  • @webcajun neat!!

  • Cracker box with a 6013 rod....... Donald

  • You make things look so easy in your videos. I'm always daunted by them when I'm faced with them. That and I don't have an inch of flat land. lol

  • Most projects are real easy when you give them just a little thought. Flat land is good and bad, sometimes makes drainage a problem........... Donald

  • I wish I had learned to weld in high school instead of all my advanced sciences! I guess I could always take a course now....

  • Learning to weld could save you lots of repair bills when fooling with stuff like this....... Donald

  • MY EYES !! MY EYES!!! Just kidding. : ) You're not such a bad welder. Better than me. Good job!!

  • Well you didn't see the other side. LOL ....... Donald

  • Fine business on the trailer hitch!

    Take Care,

    John

  • Hey John ... after putting a little paint on it, didn't look half bad. Kind of surprised me. LOL ....... Donald

  • Great project Donald, I bet if they sold these, they'd sell for quite a bit - if they don't already.

  • Checked the price of one last night ... $300 + shipping. Built this one for a lot less ...... Donald

  • nice work donald and a sweet shop too :)thnx

  • Thanks. Next test is moving the camper trailer. If it survives that I think it'll be OK.......... Donald

  • Nice Job Donald. I have been a welder and a machinist for 20 years and have built alot of the attachments I have for my tractor. I made a reciever hitch for my tractor several years ago and the best thing about this kind of hitch is you don't have to get off the tractor to raise the trailer jack. Just back up raise the 3 point hitch and go. i'm sure this video we help alot of folks. Robert

  • Hey Robert ... spending a couple of hours on a project like this can save so much time and make things so much easier down the road. Wish I was better at fabricating and welding, just don't do it often enough to get any good at it.......... Donald

  • I'm wondering if you know Mr. Okra?

  • Plant some every year......... Donald

  • i want your shop! So nice!

  • The shop is 40' x 60'. Saved up many years before I had enough to build it. Now I spend most of my day in there and love every minute of it. Even have an old frig to keep some beverages in.......... Donald

  • Nicely done Donald. I've been using just the ball on my draw bar for years, with no problem, but the old 9N is only pulling a a 5x10, single axle trailer. Your new set up looks a lot safer though. I may have to do the same. Thanks for the video.

  • This setup is mostly for moving trailers around without having to get off the tractor. Naturally if I were going any distance, would have to lock the ball and put the safety chains on. Maybe a hay ride this spring would be nice with the grandkids........ Donald

  • ★★★★★

  • Thanks ...... Donald

  • A very fine job. That was a decent weld, do more like that one and your all set. Can't wait until spring.

  • I can usually lay a couple like that then it's down hill from there. LOL ......... Donald

  • nice work donald :)

    5 stars from 500

  • Thanks Buddy ... still need to put a small brace at the very top of the center link pieces. Maybe a 3 inch piece of black pipe would work........ Donald

  • Great job!

  • I've been needing something like that for awhile now. Sure makes it easy to hook up........ Donald

  • nice vid, good work

  • The next test will be pulling that camper trailer around with it. I think it'll hold up, will have to see........... Donald
