It's hard for me because I play the guitar so my teacher told me I needed to grow the right hand index fingernail, so I did. But I still bit the others and reserved the index fingernail. I showed it to him after 2 weeks and he said "I meant TWO nails. The middle finger and the index finger."

@purplerocks42 Buy different types nail strengthener polishes and put them on. Let one coat dry then put a different coat of polish keep doing that until you have put on 4-5 coats and your nails will get much stronger.

I don't know if people will read this, but I used to be a HUGE nail biter, and my nails are about 2 times longer now that I've stopped biting them. The first thing I did to help stop is rub a garlic clove on my cuticle and sticking them into the tips of my nails. I also applied nail polilsh so that when I tried to bite my nails, I would just concentrate on what I was doing. Hope this helps!

I've tried but I have been using a paintbrush an putting on bitter yuck, it's from a pet food store and it works better than the stop nail biting stuff, this doesn't get all over your food. U can only taste it when u bite your nails directly. I've assigned my coworkers to paint them every three or so days so that I can't skip it at home. Just wanted to let u all know! :)

Just buy those plastic nails that comes with nail glue, glue them on your nails until your nails has grown long. If they come off keep gluing them back on. Wear the plastic nails for 2-3 weeks and then your nails will be long. You can buy hand and nail cream to make your nails strong. Trust me it works! Dont have acrylic nails because they are bad for your nails and you end up with ingrown nails!

It's a really strange habit. l tend to bite mine when l'm anxious, angry or upset (l have an anxiety issue so l tend to do it often!) lt's bitten right down to the cuticles and the only way l actually managed to stop was when my boyfriend told me it is disgusting and puts him off. At first l got angry and accused him of controlling me but now l'm thankful for it! l have amazing strong nails (currently painted red with gems!) Honestly, just make sure people tell you to STOP. lt helps alot!
