  • Nativebrother@ some people drop them and some people lift them you shouldn't worry about how some one elses ride looks just worry about your own ride (if you have one)

  • Clarda1@ I'm not lying I was with the guy in the 5.9 Durango and my cousin was racing him in the 4.3 and the 4.3 pulled on him maybe the bed but still a 4.3 wish I had taken a video for proff

  • @askloglog your just one of the haters you wish you had a truck that look like one in video

  • @nandochevy09 I be hatin too. Not because I want a truck that looks like this. Because I believe dropping a truck and puttin rims on it defeats the purpose of having a truck in the first place.

  • haha i would never guess you guys were mexican by the stupid ass rims and lowered trucks... o wait... yes i did

  • is this houston tx by stevenson???

  • I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO 4.3L V6 VORTEC AND I HAVE RACED V8 I WON COUPLE OF THEM BUT SOME I LOST SO V6 AINT THAT BAD AND THERE GOOD ON GAS '(;

  • @LOC60100 same here.

  • Yes guey

  • wtf!!! pigeons is a 4.3????

  • beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeanerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • The 4.3 isn't that slow of a truck it would keep up with 5.9 durangos and titan and the truck that wins is a 2002 it's just strait pipe and yeah the 97 v6 gas millage and this truck blows it's not real idk numbers but it's sucks

  • @nandochevy09 the 4.3 would keep up with the 5.9L durangos? are you kidding me? the 4.3L is not bad but it would NOT keep up with a 5.9 durango or a nissan titan at all... my 4x4 durango with the 5.9L beat my friends 99 silverado with the 5.3L in it and his is much lighter and only 2wd. I dont even think its fair to compare the 4.3L to the mopar 4.7L, 4.7L would still easily win. Ayayaya not even a comparison with the bigger V8s

  • @clarda1

He is not kidding you. My friend has a 5.9 durango, too. I have raced him in my 4.3 5spd silverado regular cab and pull on him every time. 4200lb truck vs about 4500-4600lb. I do have headers, bored tb, and slight tune though...but my 20's slow me down. His durango has a few mods as well, good rebuilt trans, well maintained. And there is no way a 5.9 durango would pull a 5.3 silverado unless the silverado is sick. My friends '05 5.3 reg. cab silvy vs my '07 4.3..he walks me bad

  • @fast98gtp No, the durango you raced is either a 5.2L or has a plenum leak. Both my friends have Silverados, One a 4.8L Z71 and the other an extended bed 5.3L, The 5.3L loses to me and the 4.8L gets demolished, and the only time i raced the 4.8L was with 4 ppl in my durango.

  • The 318 and the 360 look exactly the same, so depending on the year, he may be lying to you.

  • @clarda1 .. Ha.. You seem to know it all dont you? lol. A few things here... He is a good friend, I helped him change the plenum gasket, it's been rechecked, it IS a 5.9, he is a dodge fanatic, has owned several 318s(has a built one in fact)..not lying. There is no way a 5.9 ram will beat a 5.3.. I've driven both. The 5.3 has more hp and tq anyway. It's all power to weight ratio. Ive seen good running vehicles and bad. My truck has slightly pulled a 4.8 extended cab auto silvy anyway.

  • I'm not talking trash about 5.9s.. just what I have experienced. Yours could be a factory freak for all you know.. they do exist. I have 3 friends with 5.9s...Durango 4x4, 97 ram reg cab 2wd, '02 (i think) ram extended cab 4x4 with 4.10s. The 2wd is the fastest and would beat me for sure. The ram 4x4 is next. Is yours an RT? Well, maybe the fact that the 5.3 you raced is the first year for it may have something to do with its loss... less powerful then.

  • But there's nothing wrong with my facts. I am a gm guy but I do respect Dodges. This is my personal experience. You CAN have something with less power beat something with more power.. My truck is by no means fast, but I have raced what I've raced. At 4200 lbs, it IS lighter than a lot of things I've run against. Now when I tow something or when a 4.3 is extended cab... yeah, those are slow. Same for 4.8s unless built somewhat. I'm also not saying yours didnt beat those trucks, either.

  • @fast98gtp The much heavier Ram 5.9L barley nudges out the 5.3L, so unless your telling me the 4.3 and 4.8 make more hp and torque, your facts are skewed.

  • @clarda1 Another buddy of mine has an '05 regular cab 5.3 2wd with only exhaust and k&n system. It would destroy a '99 5.3...they were underpowered.

  • @fast98gtp That may be the reason, all the 5.3's and 4.8's I have raced with my 5.9L have been in the 99 silverados. I just think something is off here for both of us to have such different opinions/experiences...But just for clarification: (stock)

    1st gen Dodge Durango 5.9L 0-60MPH 8.2 seconds

    1999 Silverado 4.8L 0-60 ????????????????

    1999 Chevy Silverado 5.3L 0-60MPH 8.0 Seconds

2000 GMC Sierra 4.8L ex cab 10.2 seconds

    2005 Silverado 5.3L Extended cab 0-60MPH 8.5 seconds

    2011 4.3L 0-60 8.5

  • @clarda1 Some of those numbers are off, especially the 4.8l truck and '05 5.3. If the '11 4.3 really is that quick then mine is quicker.. mine has a little bit of work done to it plus it's lighter by a few hundred lbs. That would put my truck quicker than some 5.9 durangos. how do you figure 7.7? .. well anyway, I know everybody's opinions and whatnot are different because of the circumstances.. whether it be mods, miles, driver, weather, well maintained or abused trucks, etc.

  • @fast98gtp the brand new 2011 4.3L takes 8.5 seconds to 60. I cannot find reliable information on the early 4.3's and 4.8's 0-60mph but unless its as fast as the earlier 5.3;s it will not beat the 5.9L. Then again Doing the exhaust on my truck and new plugs really helped, that could also be the reason, now I pull 7.5-7.7 just with those simple mods. (plus a K&N drop in filter)

  • @clarda1 what kind of mileage do you get? My friends durango is getting 15-17mpg highway at very best. He's wanting to sell it

  • @fast98gtp Yeah I know I dont really trust any of those results as they vary so much. You should check out my Durango videos got soem 0-60, 20-80 and even a mpg one haha. I used to get 20MPG going 60mph with no hills etc, but now i have agressive tires and do mostly interstate traveling and i barley get 15-16mpg now, still get around 17 on normal highway driving. But yes, The gas on these vehicles sucks alot. I reset my mpg meter for in town driving and im averaging 8.7mpg.

  • @clarda1 Whoa thats a big drop. I average 22-23mpg in my silvy(half city/half highway).... glad I didnt get an 8. Is there anything you can do to the durango to get better mileage?

  • @fast98gtp Yup the tires totally ruined it lol. I had a 2000 durango before that i could consistently get 19mpg-20mpg avg on the interstate That had superchips 3815, full exhaust, plugs, wires, throttle body spacer (not sure if that helped..) K&N Cold air intake, smaller 31x10.5 tires and taller gears!

  • I got my son a 96 Sonoma vortec 4.3l 5sp for his first ride, it kicks the shit out of his buddys 4.8l 06 i think. Very impressive little motor and 22miles per gallon. If you have one dont toss it or think you dont have a quality motor. I have known the truck since it was new and now it has 223000 mi on it just never saw the oldman that had it run it!!!

  • I mean I pretty much agree with you. I get 23mpg with a heavy foot(half city/half hwy). My engine is basically the same as the '96+ 4.3's... not much has changed since then besides factory dual electric fans. I'd love to have the 4.8 and would have bought one, but the 5 spd wasn't available after '06. 4.3s are good for handling boost..I may go that route one day. Cam plus a 'cheap' 6psi blower is good for 320-340hp. Marine intake and better tuning is closer to 360+

  • who the hell would do that to a 4.3, i mean the 4.8 has potential, the 4.3's are a throw away engine if you want any power in your truck

  • @phil656565 No the 4.3 does not have much potential, but they definitely are not "throw away" engines. My '07 4.3 5spd has headers, bored tb, tune, few other small mods and it easily hangs with 4.8s. I didn't get mine to race but rather gas mileage... it still holds it's own. Walks away from 5.9 Durangos.

  • @fast98gtp i think we have diffrent definitions of power, and the older 4.3's like this one got terrible gas mileage.

  • @phil656565 The older 4.3's get terrible gas mileage?!? What planet on you on? My 96 2WD Silverado with the NV3500 5 speed gets an average of 28MPG around town with nothing more then exhaust and its got 200,000 miles on it and 3:42 gears and weights in at 5,000 pounds.

  • @tillyb1989 I had a 91 1500 with the 4.3 and an automatic, regular cab. Swapped out the 245 tires for 265's and the steel rims for the aluminums like the ones that come on the 88s-99's, got 14mpg average, took it to two mechanics to trouble shoot it, nothing was wrong with it, 140,000 miles, maybe its just the pre vortec ones that suck gas like crazy, mostly driven on gravel roads, could get up to 16 hwy

  • yeah the one that won is the v8

  • the 4.8 won ? right you didn't really saay which is which

  • @Domman56 just think about it...

  • @xWOODYHAYESx Well yours sounds like my buddy's 4.3 inside so i wasn't sure Plus his 4.3 haas beat two of our friends V8s A 4.8 and a 5.3
