Rather much like humour in any country, it differs in many different types.

Also, in regards to our accents; the English were first to speak English; and then Australia and America used it after us; the accent you hear is British; and they're putting on silly voices.

Unfortunately, most Americans seem to assume an entire race take humour to the same things, and are all the same in person; this is just one type of humour that you clearly don't take interest in.
