There are so many reasons why Groundhog Day is one of the greatest films. This being one of them. I like how in the last scene you can actually see their breath in the air and you don't see him die, but you can notice that he stops breathing (acts like it obviously) and that one last long mist comes out.
I watched this on TV for the 1st time since the movie came out in the cinema, and was sorely disappointed that the last 2 minutes shown in these clips had been CUT to sell more advertising time. These were the most meaningful, emotive scenes in the entire movie, and elevated it from being just another superficial romantic comedy.
Love the end where he looks up as though questioning why God was not allowing him to save the old man...like the nurse said, "it was just his time". Who are we to question God and His ways??
dignity doesn't bring happines but happines DO give dignity, there is not aceptable to have people without a home especially old persons, their last years should be in a place with people who cares, who nurses them, and be with them, its a life, and it should end with dignity. Put in their shoes.. how do you like to pass away old? not everyone have family.. even family who give a shit, that's bollocks!
this scene makes me so sad, you don't know what you have till its gone, and you dont treat anyone special till they die...if you know its their last day your gonna want to make it good for them. i had a bird and a dog and i went off to do landscaping, i told my bird id be back soon, and i told him i loved him the cute little guy. i got home his cage was on the porch i asked my parents where he was, they told me he died. broke my heart to pieces....and im still tormented by this... @nicksixer We are his supposed children. If we can't ask our "father" a question, what kind of father is he?
