A number of people went to China to study the bible and came back to Korea to spread the word of Christ. The first missionaries from France came in 1836 and found out that people are already practicing Catholicism.
This appears to be Pentacostalism, which is NOT a majority church in South Korea. Most Korean Christians are Presbyterian, Methodist, and Catholic, and they do NOT act like this.

Maybe most churches aren't like this but I can vouch for a fact that when you convert poor people with lies and hope, crazy shit happens. These sort of things are similar to what you see in some churches in India. Again the right combination for such converts is poverty, desperation, ability to believe lies and fairy tales (any religion can fit this description), lack of proper education.

@cillantro That really depends on your definition of proselytizing. Is proselytizing sharing your belief with others? If so then you are proselytizing here as you just told me "I believe all...." That is your belief and you just shared it with me. This however is all the Bible calls Christians to do, is share the hope they have inside them. A man holding a sign "the world will end in 20**" on a street corner is also simply sharing his belief as well, and he has every right to do so.

@cillantro Blasting religious prayers on loudspeakers I am against also unless 100% of the surrounding community agreed to it. However broadcasting sermons on airwaves (radio) is fine. The same way there is country music stations for people who like country music there should be Christian radio stations for people who like Christian radio. Religion is as public as any other opinion a person has. If you don't believe in Monotheism you have every right to be public about that as well.

Also, for those of you non-christians, this is a very minor example of Christianity.. Very bad example I have to add and media will only show the bad side.
I have to admit that there are some "bad" churches around these days with teaching of false information and leaders who are breaking the morality (raping, drugs.. etc.)
But most of the normal christian and churches are very sincere, loving the neighbors, help community, volunteer, and LOVE GOD AND JESUS.

Also, Christianity is so parochial and well, childish in nature. For example, there are numerous accounts of Buddha statues and temples being vandalized. But vice versa? Doesn't happen much, if ever. @jtrungle I'm not sure which country you are referring to but Catholic was introduced before Japan tried to take over Chosun. Establishment of Korean Catholic Church has nothing to do with it. A number of people went to China to study the bible and came back to Korea to spread the word of Christ. The first missionaries from France came in 1836 and found out that people are already practicing Catholicism.

This appears to be Pentacostalism, which is NOT a majority church in South Korea. Most Korean Christians are Presbyterian, Methodist, and Catholic, and they do NOT act like this.
