The dumbest thing you can do is build a race car out of a Vette. The first thing it's going to do is go sideways drive off the track & end the race. The 2nd worst thing you can do is build a box car out of it. AWD & a finely tuned suspension will at-least finish the race & you won't have to worry about not finishing or crashing out. 1st thing that pops in to my mind is "Sxxx a Vette, it's going to go fast in a straight line & end up sideways & slow everyone down.

I was impressed to see that big ass camaro making that hillclimb faster than the porsche. Thats definatly where horsepower made the difference. Usually porsche would have blown him out the water, but no sir, not in a hill climb. the v8 will conquer in a lighter chassis setup and superb suspension setup. 1 up for the muscle

What happened: As you saw the camaro took that turn just fine. Why? Because he didn't panic. He lifted off the throttle, didn't touch the brake, then at the turn slowly fed in the power. Corvette driver: Saw the sharp turn, panicked, hit the brakes too hard, and did not correct in time to hold the slide. Therefore he panicked and under-corrected.

Driver error, came out of the throttle to late. You can hear the turbo waste gate pop as soon as he passes the camera. You should of heard the turbo spool down when he cressed the hill, instead he stayed in it a little and momentum took over. He came in to hot.

You are right! We used to do these but in triumph spitfires. It was prob driver error, I would think that camaro should have lost it a long time ago unless they have a custom chassis set up. plus those big boats are not made for that kind of racing, most of then run small cars like the porshe, triumph, VW, BMW etc...... but it's all a combo of power, setup and driver skill! I had a VW bug that smoked everything out there on these courses but it over heated pretty bad even on alcohol.

I actually had the Z28 a while ago. I dont think it would have faced a *lot* of issues in doing that turn. With a **little** driver finesse it seems doable. so i dont think it is an elaborate complex setup. Maybe a few mods here and there.
