my dads got a 1977 chevy c10 custom delux stepside, and i was wondering if u knew how much the seat was in that truck? and the carpet? cause i need a price range, ty
If I had the money i would fly down to Texas and Buy the truck off of your friend, I read one of the comments and too bad he sold her for only 5000 dollars, I recently bought a 76 Silverado shortbox stepside half ton 350 with a four barrel carb, tore the truck right down to its bare fram and redone about half of the truck so far (full frame and engine) and am currently painting the vehicles outer parts. beautiful truck your friend had!
i love those trucks i have a 78 a 81 and a85 those trucks run forever i still have all the manuals and everything is original and i might be thinking of selling the 85 but yea nice truck and i have never seen a factory big block
Hey thanks, you know it's funny to find this comment today, because I saw that the truck is for sale by the guy who bought it from my friend- he wants $8grand for it, and my friend sold it to him for about $5. I think I read that in the late seventees, the big block half ton was GM's fastest production vehicle (when the Corvette was shit).
I have tried to embrace this body style as the next classic truck, but ultimately I have to agree with you. However, it is news to me that this particular body style is more prone to rust than any other. Do you mean the floorboard area?
Well pretty much the whole cab would rust out in a matter of roughly 8-10 years.. My dad has a 71' C-10 longbed and 72' shortbed Cheyenne fully loaded.. both of them are original & restored In my opinion the last good looking Chevrolet trucks made were the early 70's C-10's.....
They don't rust out any quicker than all the other vehicles made in the same time period. Even the 90's Chevy trucks were rust magnets. The cab corners and rockers rust out just as fast as the 70's and 80's trucks. Personally I like this body style. I like the '67-'70 style better, but these are nice too.
Yea, the 67-72 Models are the best looking.. My father has a '71 C-10 Deluxe long-bed, 307, auto that he has owned since new and he's got a '72 Cheyenne short-bed 402, auto...
They didn't rust out any worse than the other trucks from the time. People just didn't take as good a care of their vehicles back then, not washing road salt off after winter and whatnot. They were work horses, and that was all.
I'm sorry dude, but you know as well as I do, that you see more of those things rusted out compared to any other classic Chevy truck that is still driven on the road.
Whatever you say, man. There are many factors involved with that observation... The main one being that you see a lot more 73-87 Chevy trucks on the road than 67-72 or 60-66, and before, and when you do see those trucks on the road, they are more often than not restored. The 67-72, you'll occasionally see driving around, not restored, and typically they are just as rusty as your average 73-87 Chevy. Rotten floor pans, rockers, cab corners. They all rust, bud.
i had a truck just like that one but mine had the orginal hood and motor,i put a 4-barrel eldebrock onmine 600 cfm and it ran like a scalded dog,i wish i had never sold it,and i aggree i dont care abbout sound system cause thats fixable.
It belonged to my friend, who is retired... he buys and sells from time to time. This is one he should have kept. It ran beautifully and I have never seen another big block half ton!
ok, nice truck! 1 problem, who cares about the stereo? I don't buy vehicles cause of the audio sound. Keep talking about the stereo, means your avoiding a specific problem with the truck. And did you say you added fresh window washer fluid? wow you need to bump the price up another$1000.00!
No- I got your meaning. What I don't understand is: why would you do anything that you hate to do. "I hate to say it, but I am going to say it anyway" never made sense to me. Like a broken attempt at making it sound more polite. By the way, the rims, the hood and the paint are easily changed.

@leafsrule16 Referring to the drivetrain as original. You are correct in believing that the cowl hood, flame job, etc., are not factory.

I used to have the SWB version of that. I sure miss it.

I never liked those model Chevrolet's because 1: They rusted out fairly quickly and 2: I just thought that they weren't the best looking..
