  • This is a good vid 4 star. But of course Senna was uneasy, anyone would be if there had been 2 very serious crashes in 2 days, one got very lucky and the other not so. I think if u wtached the others on the day they were also nervous.

R.I.P. Ayrton Senna & Roland Ratzenburger.

  • the best driver who ever lived

  • can someone tell me the music when senna is talking while driving?

  • It's called "The End" from the movie soundtrack "Man on Fire" by Harry Gregson Williams

  • No it's not - it's an extract from 'Sarah's dream' - Terminator 2 soundtrack.

    Funk

  • Minute 0:55 is creepy as hell.

  • the cars in 1994 were dangerous and terrible rubbish

  • C'mon people stop talking mysthical shit about Ayrton. He didn't know what was going to happen ok?? The anger in his face before the start of the race was beacuse he probably was thinking in Ratzenberger, as any other pilot in the grid would do in these moments.

  • Amen to that! And people, I realise that he made Brazilians proud, and that they sure deserve their moment in the sun, because Brazil doesn't have that many. HOWEVER, PLEASE stop talking like Senna was this great, great sportsman or some kinda hero. He was an utter bastard, who became world champion by running Alain Prost off the track. And that is only one of countless incidents where he endangered other people's lives for his own benefit.

Good riddance! Sorry, but I truly feel this way!

  • Thanks for the compliment, but I can't agree with you about Senna's incidents. He could do ugly things while he raced but he wasn't an utter bastard for that cause he never did bad actions for no reason, he had some integrity and beliefs which pushed him to be an impassionate pilot. He only raced to win and for to be the best every race, every day and every moment, was part of his personality, to be extremely competitive in life. Peace!

  • All I have to say is, we still miss our best driver and the world also miss the best driver ever!!! Ayrton wherever you are we miss you a lot. We need your reencarnation, and of course as a Brazilian. We still waiting for your return.

  • as much as i want to dismiss the idea, senna would be the kind of man to successfully predict his own death

  • If Senna were alive, he would flag this video as spam. Shame on you for dirtying the legacy of one of the world's greatest drivers with your petty, self-righteous superstition.

  • If he was still alive this video WOULD NOT EXSIST! Well at least the ending.

  • i miss you magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so sorry for you, but now, you can watch many racings in youtube, so enjoy teh magic of the best F1 driver of the earth!

  • Phil Hill died a fews weeks ago, one of only two American World Champions. Unlike many of his generation, he died in his bed at 81. This was the death we invisioned for Senna. Never, never at the wheel of a race car. That event stands alone as the largest shock of my sporting life! I will simply never forget it.

  • He had complained to his Williams crew that he did not have enough space for his feet in the peddle box. A frame bar was rewelded to change this. This weld broke, the car began to bottom out. He was going fast enough, Senna may not have been aware this. Italian authrities have refused to return the car to Williams.

  • were did you get your info from my friend.firstly he complained there was not enough room for his hands on the steering wheel and secondly the car was returned to williams in 2002 and then they stripped the car and scrapped it...

  • I hope that anybody who is new to F1 or is too young to remember Senna goes & watches all the vids & dvds & reads all the books about him. I was 14 when he died I loved F1 & I still do but vids like this one make me feel sad. He was my hero & he still is. He was just simply the best driver ever, of course schumacher is awsome but & I quote Martin Brundle here talking about schuies retirment "for me Ayrton Senna was the greatest of all time" Its hard 2imagine anyone being that good but he was!!!!

  • You know, thats exactly what this video made me do, About this time last year i watched this exact video and i wasnt really interested in F1 and then i watched loads of vids and his biography and im completely obsessed with the sport now, its even made me change what i wanna do with my life, its amazing how something like this vid can change your entire life.

  • who knows?

  • G O D...

  • This is a load of bull. The reason Ayrton Senna was not himself sitting in the car before the start, closing his eyes, leaning back and shifting around, was because he was very upset about the death of Ratzenberger. When he closed his eyes and leant back, he was thinking about Ratzenberger. And it's not like Ayrton planned to die instead of finishing the race. Infact, he was carrying an Austrian flag in the car to wave after the race on the slowdown lap in tribute to Ratzenberger!

  • Senna : I miss you... Saudas sua ae kra !! Vc faz falta... Vlws !!

  • When you watch his last lap you almost dont believe whats about to happen. He hits every apex perfectly and drives so smoothly. It shows that even Ayrton didnt no what was coming

  • rip ayrton senna and roland raztenberger

  • just my fault S4CRG... sorry ;p

  • Rest in peace Ayrton Senna. We are missing you....

  • He did indeed behave strange that weekend.

I read alot about it, and you get the feeling he felt bad things coming. At first he didn't want to drive, but he said, I have to it's my job.

And indeed you can see him at the start, not wearing his helmet and you see he isn't feel right. He never did this!

At the beginning of the season he also predicted that something will go wrong that year, he was right!

Anyway Ratzenberger and Senna made Motorsports so much safer, they died for a purpose!

  • Yeah, that's true.

But too many people died before the safety standards in F1 really did matter :(

  • I totally agree! Every time I see that video of him sitting in the car before the start you can tell something was bothering him! He's very shifty and when he closes his eyes and puts his head back it sends chills down my spine! Crazy video and nobody will ever really know what he was thinking but I believe something wasn't right!

  • fucking idiot playing psychologist... maybe he was simply bothered by ratzenberger's death? did that possibility even come up in your tiny brain? gott dismiss all possibilities before jumping to conclusions.

  • Dude calm down, I never said it was a fact! I said its possible! Anything is possible so maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions! You fucking retards on youtube need to take your pills in the morning before you get on here and jump on everyone you don't agree with! Its really not that big a deal dude, just relax!

  • And how the fuck would you know if he did or didn't have a premonition? I think your the one that needs some pills and you should also pull Schumachers dick out of your ass aswell!

  • The HANS device would have saved Ratzenberger, and prevented Barrichello from entering a coma, it wouldn't have saved Senna who was the victim of extroadinary bad luck. The front right wheel flew up and the suspension arm pierced his helmet. A few inches either side and he would alomst certainly have lived. RIP.

  • How can you be a formula driver? Who are you? Alonso? Or maybe Piquet? Hahah... can't believe... and IMO HANS won't protect Senna by impact of a whell and part of suspension that hit him in head...

  • Formula Renault is a different class of racing than formula 1. Learn to read before you write a stupid comment

  • After he crashed HANS (Head And Nack Support)was made for all drivers. I am Formula Renault Driver myself and i can`t imagen how they drove without HANS...

  • if he TOOK... that's right... but he didn't =(

  • Only if he took the fucking corner slowly!

    He had enough time! RIP!

His crash saves lfes of alot of other drivers with the FIA introucing the new neck support stuff and the all the new safety equitment,

    RIP Senna

My dad worked for you at Lotus he was your cheif machanic, He misses you greatly!

  • that's awesome about your father's job. Not many people can say they did that. NIce!

  • Enya didnt sing on the Gladitor movie/soundtrack. The lady singing is Lisa Gerrard.. Wonderful singer too!! Sings without lyrics in most of her songs. Very different singer to most..

  • Ayrton died when he was first , he was leading , he is first forever .

  • this raceweekend was very bad.... roland ratzenberger and senna died.. barrichelo broke his arm.. this was a real bad weekend

  • So sad.

  • Beautiful, thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful video.

I remeber the weekend, I was 6 years old, sitting and watching F1 like usual on the couch with my Dad, and then Roland died, and he didn't want me to watch the rest of the weekend, but I did. Oh god. Still so fresh in my memory.

Thanks for the beautiful, sad video.

RIP Senna, I hope something like this will never ever happen again.

  • Stop the video at 4:20, his car was nervous at tamburello lap before crash, you can see he was losing downforce at this corner and he nearly lost control. In next lap he completely lost downforce and he went off track. Btw. he is all time greatest, Schumacher is nothing compared to Senna

  • He wast nothing compared to Senna, he is a fantastic driver, but senna was better

  • Miss you!!!

    All times best driver.

  • must wonder senna was verry passion and spiritual he saw 2 people getted hurt other one killed and start he didnt hold hes helmet like he allways did looked like he will be ready i dont sayed lowd...changes made after this huge lost

  • I think the artist @ 38 seconds is "Clannad". The other song at about 4 minutes is from the "Man On Fire" soundtrack titled "THE END"

  • This give a little dizzy to F1 circus... it became so annoying...

  • It's so creepy seeing Roland's head roll after his car hit that wall.... its very depressing, along with senna saying hello to Alain during the race.

I pray this never happens ever again. The amount of tragedy in ONE weekend much less one year, is to much.

  • Beautiful video.Ayrton Senna was one of the best F1 drivers in history. [*] R.I.P [*]

  • ALL TIMES BEST DRIVER.!!

  • it was the piece of suspension rod pierced his visor, he was brain dead instantly but his heart and lungs were able to keep working until they turned the life support machine off in the hospital at around 18.00 that day!

Anybody know the song starting at 0.38 seconds???

  • hi the songs are clannad the theme from harrys game and the second one is enya now we are free from the gladiator film.

  • Thank you for this beautiful video. Senna was and will always be, simply the best.

  • The thing that held the right front wheel flew off and hit his head. He was going at 150mph, so yeah he never had a chance to survive that.

  • he knew you could see it in his eyes, hes on egde almost like he wants to tell someone but they would never understand.

  • He may have been morning the death of Roland Ratzenberger.

  • I think he knew something too..you could see that on his face but like you said he wants to tell someone but they would not understood...very tragical

  • I think, everyone who likes F1, missed a piece of himself/herself, and let it go with Senna. Rest in Peace M8, you are the greatest driver of all time.

  • I miss him, it was my hero when I was a kid. Thanks by your great video.

  • Senna was the best driver ever!Much better than Shummacher Prost Alonso Hakinen Massa and Raikkonen all together! It was a great loss R.I.P Ayrton [*]

  • wow i cry r.ip senna

  • I hope he lives now in better world

    Rest in peace

  • I personally think, that didn't really care about he's in danger. I think Senna wanted safety to better, and safety is really taken some huge steps forward (Kubica in montreal 2007, for example).

  • R.I.P from denmark senna is still the best

  • he was a great F1 driver, and a great man. helped as many people he could, and really gave back to the community.

It's a real shame he had to go at such a young age, and at the peak of his career.

    RIP Senna.

Voce sempre estara nos nossos coracoes!!

  • i think he did

  • at 1:50 the pic of roland with blood flowing out of his head is so sad........he was pretty much dead

  • Imagine the epic battles he and schumacher would have had in the mid and late 90's...they would have been amazing...RIP.

  • R.I.P.from italy

  • Wow - what a witty, cleverly thought out comment. Well done.

  • There will nver be another like him - remember Donington and who else has his nobility? We will never forget him or the day he died.

  • I don't care what people say but, Aryton Senna is the best F1 Pilot ever in history.

R.I.P Senna the greatest the sport has ever seen

  • People insisting on deifying others, which is why Europe had kings and queens for so long, Hell even now some of the petty states have the so-called aristocracy!

Just like James Dean, people refuse to look at the facts. As for my comments being thought of as "vilifying," look up the definition of that word morons.

  • i was lucky enough to watch Senna The Master at Silverstone in 91,92,and 93. Absolutely phenomenal. Like magic. So sad even now, that he's not racing still. R.I.P Ayrton and the legendary Mc.Rae, both very very missed.

  • Senna, Prost, Mansell, the very young Schumacher.................F1 in those days was unmissable and an adrenalin buzz. These guys were real drivers.

    RIP Ayrton

    never forgotten

  • Senna knew there was a chance he could die, the team knew he could die. The repair should not have been risked/rushed. HE should not have been risked. Please don't tell me that the repair was the best quality because it obviously wasn't. How many other people have died because their steering column broke again?

  • To answer the original question of "Did He Know?", my answer is YES. He knew that the repair was risky. Apart from all other events that happened on the weekend he still raced. Why? To win the championship. Who for? Williams, and himself. Why did he race if he thought he had a chance of dying? Simply put, he had to.

  • Also, I wish to withdraw everything else I have said before this, as this is obviously the most accurate of my statements. Even though I was two years old when he died, I am disappointed not to have him around today. I am disappointed I will never truly witness the master that, well, still is, Ayrton Senna.

  • By saying that Senna suicided you are saying that you are an unfair sportsperson yourself (if not a sore loser). I am surprised and curious why a person so fond of VW and Audi would be worried about another racer from McLaren/Williams, proving to me his sportsmanship and fairness.

  • All I can see there is Williams covering up for their own mistakes. They chose to cut the footage at that time. They chose to send Senna out even with his refusal. They chose to erase the evidence hidden in the black boxes, all because of a dodgy repair and the chance to win more money. I put Senna's death on every Williams crew member that was active at the time he died.

  • Some have also mentioned that his rear suspension failed. Ok, so why would Williams want to get rid of their Black Boxes if this were true? Why would ANYBODY want to get rid of the truth? Black Boxes, as you are all aware, are designed to measure a car's current condition (the schematics) and relay them to the viewer.

  • All of this is truth! Gdogg370 proves that he is still a human and his reaction times were not skewed. VwaudiRULEs proves that Senna reacted in that corner of Imola. He also proves that there was no response from the steering wheel.

  • VWaudiRULEs stated that the car didn't spin slightly (it was like an arrow), the car never loses traction, which I can explain as Senna having no response from the steering wheel. You would expect the tyres grip like hell. Readings from telemetry only proves this further.

  • gdogg370 stated that he was only human and that he wouldn't have had time to process the information, which I see as the exact opposite to why Senna reacted so viciously.

  • VWaudiRULEs stated that Senna couldn't use 1.5sec to correct a car's direction. My explanation, no response. "Senna's head drastically moves left" showing his frantic behavior trying to steer it.

  • I have only read about this case for around two weeks now however I have already come to quite a plausible conclusion. I am interested about the events that took place, so I have a copy of all posted statements at home and have been reading over them. Please read my next few statements as they formulated my theory.

  • Well, I think many people with spiritual backgrounds will associate Imola 1994 as a cursed event, and Senna being spiritual himself, I'm sure he knew that event wasn't over in terms of danger and curses.

However, to think that Senna could have known he would face his death is most uncharacterisitc, Senna loved to race and needed to, and hated being 2nd best, he was on the hunt of Michael Schumacher's championship lead.

Anyway, I don't believe Senna could have planned his death was soon ahead.

  • its a shame that that race weekend was the death of Senna, yas very sad. Tragic in fact but what about Roland. people seem to forget, or not even know that he dies that weekend also

  • it did get overshadowed by Senna's tragic accident. We shouldn't have forgotten about Roland though. He was much of a huge loss to F1 and this world as Senna. Two great men lost in a horrible race...

  • RIP MAGIC

  • he died 1st.

  • everytime i see the onboard footage coming up to tamburello i just pray to see that car not stray off its line. and everytime it still surprises me to see it jink to right and head towards the wall... so sad...

  • did you know ayrton senna kept a un furled austrian flag if got on the podium of the gp

  • The god takes is life for win races in heven.

Rest in Peace Ayrton Senna you are in my chest.

  • I feel sorry for the families and friends of Roland and Ayrton to have lost such people from their lives.

  • I had seen somewhere about the wheel column breaking once, with him holding it in place in his lap. Then it was damaged further, and he performed a "Superhuman ability" and put it in again. The third time he fixed it with a piece of metal overhang, or something (probably chance). The fourth break and the wheel was loose. It also said he threw the steering wheel out at the last second. Truly scary. I feel very bad for the families of Senna and Roland, they sound amazing.

  • There was a video somewhere on there about the same thing and it said that he had done something superhuman,or other. Anyway, was he himself? No He could have been supplied a message by a supernatual spirit, even if it sounds extreme. He was awesome. I think he made an awesome driver, even if I haven't really seen him in action. I wandered on this topic looking for Craig Lowndes, of all things. Went to Montoya, found F1, found this, and other videos about it. SHOCKING. He will be missed...

  • 'I had seen somewhere about the wheel column breaking once, with him holding it in place in his lap. Then it was damaged further, and he performed a "Superhuman ability" and put it in again. Are you talking about his fatal crash??

  • Yes, the crash in which he passed on. I suggest you search around here on YouTube and find it. It's a written video with a blue screen. I am unsure of its truth, but it may help...

  • I've always hated watching the first crash, his head just jolts forward horribly twice... that makes me cringe more than tom pryce.

  • Both are very horrific in their own way. Dont think one would rate which is worse, but this is really hard to watch.

  • How many deaths in this weekend? 3?

  • i dont no the exact figure but i beleive it was around 6 becuase during the accident at the start debrees went into the stands and took some of the spectators lives

  • thank you funkeee. Senna and Roland we love you always.

  • Wow Funkeee......! Nice J O B!

  • Senna WAS murdered and it WILL be found out someday.rip Ayrton and Roland.

Frank Williams I hate you with a passion!!!!

  • ;( [*]

  • when I watch this video, I cam only remember the shock and that nit even the gretaest can survive death, sometimes you think your hero's are untouchable....... Very sad day for all..... Senna & Roland will be in our thoughts forever...... Shame on the organiser to continue after the first death....

  • guys, this fucking race should have been canceled after roland's death, according to the italian laws. But the fia assholes took the risk and see what they did. Two men died and all the FIA guys, williams team and the race organizers were found innocent! SHAME ON THEM, it's they fault that Ayrton and Ronald are no among us today

  • true words...R.I.P Roland Ratzenberger,Ayrton Senna...

by the way...Who in F1 today would beat only one round against Senna;Villneuve;Bellhof..?

    Raik? lol..Alonso? lol...no one would

but thanks the safety they can live and play some F1 Driver...Robert Kubica would die last year without the safety..Hamilton too

  • uno de los grandes del automovilismo

  • HOW IS HIS BEHAVIOUR IN THIS WEEKEND?

  • WHICH IS THE TRANSLATION 2.22-3.40?

  • The death of the most popular driver caused a shock reaction in Formula 1 and because of that new safety measures were taken.

These safety measures have possibly saved the lives of many drivers including Verstappen, Burti, Kubica and Kovalainen.

We should thank Senna for this, and make him immortal by never forgetting about him.

  • He knew something was up, you can see it in his eyes. It was just his time, so very sad. R.I.P.

  • I was there working (you see me on the right side when all the drivers come out of the Race Control). it was the last time I worked for Formula One...after that I did not manage anymore...Obrigado Ayrton.

  • funkeeemunkeee, pls tell me what artist and song you used in this video. Great work....

  • Sounds like Raiders of the lost Ark at the start then Enya.

  • see comments page 2

    Funk

  • I meant the 2nd to oldest page - which takes a long time to get to now (thanks for all your comments) - music as follows:

    1) an extract from 'map room' - raiders of the lost ark soundtrack

    2) Clannad - theme from 'Harry's Game' (well done to the person who's post I accidentally deleted!)

    3) an extract from 'Sarah's dream' - Terminator 2 soundtrack

    4) an extract from 'the end' - man on fire soundtrack

More vids to follow when I have time to put them together... Funk

  • Ah yes. Enya left Clannad before Harry's game

  • woteva caused th deaths, 1 things 4 sure.

we lost th best driver + 1 hu had potential over tht weekend

i myself am split between th faulty steering colum, th cold tires or a sudden loss of downforce.

th 1st 2 seem mor reasonabl with evidence

  • NYYERAU2010

I believe that the first crash in this video is the death of Ratzenberger, not Barrichello spinning off. This accident then sets the mood of Senna.

  • After Ayrton Senna's fatal crash during the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola in 1994, a neatly folded Austrian flag was found in his cockpit. Ironically, Senna had hoped to win the race - and to wave the flag during his victory lap in memory of another driver (Austria's Roland Ratzenberger)

  • many thanks for this information :'(

  • Suicide is nigh impossible. The fact he was killed by that piece of suspension was such an unfortunate coincidence he couldn't have calculated it. Hadn't the suspension hit him, Senna would have been perfectly allright. Besides, the telemetry shows Senna hard on the brakes for the last second or so of his life. He definately was struggling to control the car. If you look at the close-up and watch the movement of the steering wheel it looks like something wasn't right there.

  • perfectly alrights a bit strong.

dont 4get e hit a concrete wall at a massive speed

4 sure he wud hav suffered severe brain + head injuries even if he wasnt hit by suspension

  • i know i'm gona get hammered for this, i love formula 1,but has anyone ever thought that SENNA (R.I.P.)committed suicide, who knows his final thoughts, who knows how his personal life was. he may just have killed himself spectacularly, ask yourself???? there's no straight forward answer why his car failed, why not suicide??????

  • No way was this suicide! What a stupid thing to say! This was a mechanical failure that caused his death! Do you believe in UFO's as well?

  • UFOs are flyin objects constructed by the Germans in WW2.

    Search wikipedia for it.

  • well there actually is, in those days, unlike now, they dont have thousands of spare parts to put on all the time, the steering column was used to often and it eventually borke through fatigue from over use

  • Great Video....... whats the music? Thanks

  • if only there's a HANS device

  • 2 good driver have been killed how can you describe the funny?

  • Senna knew something. You can see it in the expressions on his face before the race and while seated in the car. Something was not right.

  • senna had off track issues as well, something in the family was not all well.his sister viviane will not disclose why.

  • RIP Senna.Peace for you!!!!

  • It is very sad given Senna's fate albeit the first crash in this video of Rubens Barrichello appears worse to the eye given the violent contact with the barrier and turbulent flipping of Barrichello's cart despite the fact Barichello sustained only nominal injuries.

  • This is one of the best and the most emotionally moving Ayrton senna dedication on youtube

    thank you

  • Oh jezze how many more times can you sink low this has to stop I'm fed up with you insulting the dead and futher more thats the sort of comment that will get you beaten to a bloody pulp (which I hope will happen!) so do the world a favour and button it!

  • What a f*@king brilliant video dedicated to a brilliant man. My girlfriend has a photo she took of Senna in the pits on this fateful and tragic weekend, i well up everytime I look at it!

  • Here you ya dick shut the f**k up you stupid hoor!!!!! And learn how to spell ratzenberger as well.

  • God bless you senna your truley missed....

As for you sharkey ive told you before you sick freak why dont you get a god damn life and stop being a dick if i knew who you where id come round your house and smash your face in, I hope sennas family reads this and come your house to do it themselfs! Your a fucking grade A bell End!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Salope

  • Oh for the love god will please grow up you sad sad person! If you get kicks for mocking dead people with f**ked up comments like that then you are in need of some time in padded cell I've never heard of such a sick twisted bastard like you like I said GROW UP AND GROW UP FAST!!! X(

  • idiot. a waste of organic matter. and yes, you are "a sicko lol".

  • you just don't know when to shut the f**k up do you what you said was as low as anyone could sink and futher more I loved Senna before he was killed not after! God I so mad with you at the moment so why don't you do the world a favour and go jump off the nearset bridge!

  • what is he saying on the radio??

  • whats the name of the song atthe end of the video?

  • SHARKY, you are a first class bell end!

  • I think Imola was really cursed that weekend...

  • u are an idiot u know that

  • it wasn't the steering!!!!!

  • YEs it was. Wikipedia it. Can you seriously tell me after watching that replay that his damn skid plate touched? Give me a break man, F1 covered this up from the moment it happened. If it wasn't his steering then why didn't his tires turn at all? Why did he radio to the pits that he couldn't steer the car? They jerry-rigged his steering column to make it longer by cutting it, and welding it. The weld broke, end of story.

  • they wouldn't weld in a championship like f1 this is a professional sport!they have spare parts that can be longered without welding!

  • fucking idiot, shut up. You are fucking 14 year old kid, shut up and go play outside. If you wanna learn, then go ahead, but don't talk shit without knowing, you will get beaten up by an upperclassman one day. And yes, his steering was WELDED the night before, it is a fact. That's what we are saying - there was nothing professional about what Williams did. That's why Senna is dead. Welded steering is no longer allowed in F1 for this reason.

  • How can you be so cold hearted you bastard Senna was great driver who put his life at risk because he loved what he was doing and the fans loved him for it! Hang your bloody head in same and crawl back to what ever tar pit you came from!

  • Why be a douche??? How can you find humour in 2 people's deaths?

  • name of song: Harry's game theme
