I've got this converter and a SHURE SM58 Mic that I use together to stream when I sing online, BUT it always seems to be too quiet. I'm not sure what's causing it. EVERY volume control is turned up for the mic setting. Could it be because of the USB connection?

One thing that I noticed off the bat about this converter is that the usb connection to the converter is very loose. If I touch the chord, sometimes the mic becomes undetected.

if its a usb mic..there is no point in getting the icicle...the icicle is for mics that require a preamp/phantom power

Question if you have a usb mic like ..... the AT2020 is a preamp necessary

@bigjay10 Preamp is ALWAYS necessary. It brings the mic to a level thats better audible once it gets to recording without a preamp, the mic itself is way too quiet.

Guess what... You can't use 2 mics if you buy 2 Icicle's because most if not all Audio Recording softwares do not allow recording from 2 different audio sources (usb) at once.
