  • This is one of great favorites of all time. Come back to it one and then to enjoy a great artist and singer. A beautiful melody. If I only could understand the lyrics. Thank you Ilanit and Israel :)

  • She's got a wonderful singing voice. Why are all the best female singers from the past? All the current ones are just human Barbie dolls who have been auto tuned to death, except for a few that actually can sing.

  • Wow!! My favourite Israeli entry!

    Ey Sham <3

  • There is a rumour that she wore a bulletproof vest because of fear of terrorists. But either it is very good disguised or a false rumour. Who can tell me more?

  • Extraordinary beautiful lady. The song awakes memories. I was about to be 12 that year.

  • This is the best Israeli entry!!!!

  • Great song and great peformance. Shame that the sound mix in the 1973 contest was terrible, all one can hear are the horns and percussion. You cannot hear the beautiful string arrangement at all.

  • Great song...thanks for sharing!

  • The conductor was Nurit Hirsch, she directed the orchestra also in 1978 when Izrah Cohen won the first place with the song A-ba-ni-bi

  • @aldairduvan Which means that Nurit Hirsh is the only woman to conduct winning song in the ESC.

  • What did she place? Beautiful song.

  • It was the best Grand Prix ever. In an other year it WOULD have won. I still own the record( in German), I was just 9 years old and this song was like a dream and a promise for a beautiful future. Still I see that time and feel like I felt when I heard it the first time. So many thank you, Ilanit, and to you, Euroencyclopedic!

  • this song should've won. Ilanit had the best voice in this contest. this song is too beautiful for words.

  • Talking about conductors... the guy in the orchestra playing the piano is Jean Roderes. He himself was musical director of the contests held in Luxembourg in 1962 and 1966.

  • she is such a beautiful woman and her song was amazing!

  • I don't know if she looks like Babs but she sure sounds like Helen Reddy.

  • Along with Halaila the best Israel entry

  • Isn't that the first female conductor in Eurovision history ?

  • The only one who won (1978) and one of only TWO in the whole history (the other one was in 1973 too, I don't know which country). She was also the only one who conducted twice. Her Name: Nurit Hirsch

  • I know about Anita Kerr (Switzerland 1985). Don't remember any other conductors that were women in ESC.

  • All the female conductors in ESC history are:

-Monice Dominique (She conducted Sweden 1973)

-Nurit Hirsch (She conducted Israel 1973 and 1978)

-Anita Kerr (She conducted Switzerland 1985)

  • you're right, the first female conductor was Monica Dominique for the swedish entry. Another female conductor in 1985 was Anita Kerr for Switzerland.

  • @klarinetta She almost was. In that same year Sweden brought in the first female conductor and they performed earlier in the show, so Nurit Hirsch was the second female conductor.

  • @klarinetta not realy.monica dominique conducted for sweden at the same year.so you can say that they were the first female conductors of esc.nurit hirsh conducted once again in 1978 and anita kerr in 1985 for switzerland.

  • She looks so much like Barbara Streisand :D))). Love the song.
