its 10.000 $ actually in europe, but ford company put a lot of profit on it..i just purchased 3 months ago..and its FREE!!how?
i had chevy astro and i spent thousands of dollars for mechanic..fuel pumps, this that..i save 500 dollar every month just from gas..i loan it 630 dollar a month..just 130 dollar more..what about mechanic..towing.???..perfect solution..dont think about it if you still thinking about purchase that van..do it..
instead of the Transit, Ford sells the E-Series (aka "Econoline") as the full-size van in North America. you can buy an E-Series with a 6.0L 235 hp V8 diesel. the E-Series fits in the American full-size van market a little better--it's a bit wider than the Transit but not as tall. the E-Series has been the best selling full-size van in the US for over a decade. however, it appears Ford plans to replace the E-Series with the Transit in a couple of years in its plan to globalize its model line.
yeah, Ford sells the Transit around the world, but they don't need it here in North America. over here, we've had the Econoline (now marketed as the "E-Series") for over 40 years and it fills the same market niche as the Transit (full-size van). however, I've heard that the Transit will replace the E-series in a couple years...
Although the Econoline is a great van this might be a good replacement. Although the base where I work at uses Chevrolet Expresses.. there a piece of junk just to carry candies, chips, and monster drinks to 18-20 machines a day.... I might talk to my boss about this to reconsider thinking about getting one of them.
How is the Chevy Express van worse than this? The Chevy Express would be considered in a different class. The Chevy Express has a greater towing and storage capacity than this Ford. But how does that make the Chevy a 'piece of junk'?
I understand it would be in a different class, the point being is that the government should pay attention into purchasing these types of vehicles.... (Not if they wouldn't care less) But I care and I work for the government.
Most Expresses that are on the 29 Palms marine corp bases are falling apart even if they were maintained well, and GSA wouldn't change vehicles until the vehicle reaches 50,000 miles before switching vehicles.
Vehicles made in the last 15 years are just getting broken in at 50k miles. I have a 1994 Chevy Caprice that has 150k miles on it and it runs great. With regular maintenance a Chevy Express should last 100k miles with little problem. How can they be falling apart?Unless they were abused.
Besides that this Ford Van is not in the states yet so its not like there has been much of a choice in the way of small vans up until and if this van gets imported.
I do my part in regular schedule maintanance, but at MCCS they act like it don't even exist and they do that to make money.... those greety bastards. And I know that these vans are not in the states at all, rumor is going around that said they MIGHT it would be pretty nice to have them here someday.
Didnt the Postal Service have smaller vans made by AM General once? Would that not be a viable alternative in the meantime? I mean to contract AM General to build something similar.
It was, but not the Jeep like one that you might be thinking. There was one that was smaller than a van, about the same size on the outside as that new Taurus 'crossover' thing, probably smaller actually. Maybe it wasnt AM General that built it but Grumman. It had a roll up gate in the back.
Never saw one before, but the post office here in our town is so cheap that they use like half ranger chassis trucks to go mobile in town while they have like these old 70's jeeps to go in like the boondock in bum crap no where.

What the US needs is the full size transits with that very sweet 5 cylinder 200 horsepower diesel in it.

Well how much more vehicle does one need to haul the mail? Cmon man, I mean if they were hauling lumber I could appreciate your argument.

It's just a saying, and arguing was not my key neather.
