@reachboy1 it is a balk sense he went at the batter first. Once you put your motion towards the batter you have to commit to the batter. So this is a balk or atleast it is in my league
its a balk idk how the umps didnt see that. one he crossed the imaginary line that connects the mound and the bag. so there for he has to go to the plate regardless, which he didnt. his leg must be straight up and not cock back if he wants to try and pickoff the runner at first. besides that, his leg drived towards the plate and then he threw to first which is another reason to call a balk.
@Emerica51996 that "imaginary line" you speak of actually means he cant cross his front foot over his back foot whic he clearly diodnt do...and he didnt go toward home plate he went halfway up the first base line so he could either pick to first or pitch to the batter
@dbbmccready the backfoot over front foot thing you said i agree with after looking at it but i dont think theres a happy medium he has to pick and straight up and put it foward. he clearley somewhat drove towards the plate. so in my opinion its a balk
balk, his lead knee went back towards the outfield. if you do this you must commit to the plate, he needs to pick his knee straight up not go backwards with it
no way is that a balk....it only looks like a balk cuz its the same leg motion as his normal stretch kick...which any left handed pitcher would kill to have
insane move
