Pete the true talent and artist of the band He trusted all and didnt want to live in a world where you cant do that truthfully neither do I R*I*P* Brother ^i^ ^i^ ^i^
Take it easy on Joey, guys. That was mean in what he did to Tom but Joey's going out there now making sure this music lives. I myself am uncomfortable with him using the Badfinger name but this is how stupid people are today:
@MrLawman10 - In a way you're correct. When I got out of the US Navy, I began doing all of the things I'd missed while in, and, one was searching for old ROCK albums, Badfinger being one of them. I came upon a "Badfinger" fan club, so I wrote to it. Yet, being the "SUPERSTAR" that Molland seems to believe he is, he had his wife write back to me!? I guess that's good in itself, but, Badfinger, even at its height, can use all of the fans they have - go figure!?!? I'm STILL bothered by this!
Had read all before, but watching the interviews and comments, really brings it all home. I just wonder, why could no one (like Paul McCartney) sense the trouble, before Pete's death? Of Pete's trusting just too much...something most of us can be guilty of...Unbearable.
Joey Molland seems proud that he stopped Tom from using the name Badfinger. He also laughs when he talks about the last phone call he received from Tom, when Tom said he was going to kill himself. If Joey can't sell enough tickets to make a living touring as "Joey Molland", maybe the talentless S.O.B. should go back to laying carpet.
Oh my god, for Tom's little boy to have found him hanging from a tree like that...can you imagine how devastating for him and his mother that sight was? And they have to live with that memory. I know alcohol was a factor in what happened, but for Joey Molland not to acknowledge that his preventing Tom from working with his own version of Badfinger was a factor that led to Tom's end is beyond shameful.
I think this is one of the most tragic stories ever in music history.....Both Pete and Tom were talented young men who left this cruel earth way too early...God Bless them both...About the rest of the story they all have or had to meet their maker....
I have been obsessed with the Badfinger story for days now. It appears to me that Joey Molland is as much the culprit as Stan Polley. He has that air of complete mis-trust and lies.
after doing some extensive homework, , l have come to the conclusion joey molland is an heartless scheming towrag,,,he has a lot to answer for, its time to come clean after all that deception,,he has tried to play the good guy for too long,,,,shame on you,,,, how do you sleep at night;?
What gets me is Kathie Molland throwing a peanut jar at Pete Ham's head. The woman was mean. Tom Evans even said before he died that she killed Pete Ham along with Bill Collins. God knows what she must have put him through.
Paid musician my foot! Do you know the story of that live CD? Molland stole the recording tapes without telling anyone, overdubbed programmed instruments, and sued the late Mike Gibbins, as well as the Ham and Evans estates for producer's fees!
There's a briliant book on Badfinger, but it is out-of-print now. The author, who is in this documentary, really exposed Stan Polley - got the whole backdrop and what he did after Badfinger to prove the case. Incredible book. A beautiful tribute to the band. But good luck finding it now.
Ah Trevor, here you are defending Joey again. What is it you have against the people with the real talent? Do you love all parasites? There are a lot of tapeworms out there who probably need you to be their champion too. You sound like a pansy---get over yourself.
Joey contributed some great stuff, but he and his wife were a nightmare for Pete. Pete was inspired to write "Take It All" because they were jealous he got the stage w/George at Bangladesh. And Pete quits band he established, yet comes back to salvage the others career. Then Joey tries to keep him out, finally bails on the band because he couldn't get control. Then Joey sabotages Tom's career.
Joey's a joke---too bad he makes money off of being one. Pete and Tom were obviously too good for this world; their music is brilliant and will live on forever.
Molland is very callous about Tom Evans. He really ragged on him in another documentary extra footage and he says Tom "went around the twist." Really cold and an insult to our intelligence. I've seen Joey b*tch on McCartney and George Harrison, too. That is not a nervous laugh. Guy was lucky to be in this band.
Joey Molland is an extremely screwed up person. He contributed much to Badfinger's sound, but his inability to come to terms with the deaths of his bandmates has cost him the respect of BF fans.
when joey was talking about how tom said "im gonna kill myself" like at 6:11, i dont understand why he laughs. did he laugh of nervousness or sillyness or was he just cruel hearted?
To hear Tom say "It was Pete and I.. Me and Pete loved each other..." Wow!
Joey Molland, you are a travesty singing on those deceptive Badfinger re-makes that have ripped off thousands, including my nephew. Well, you got what you wanted from Tom and Pete - money... always about money. And your live shows where you sing Pete and Tom's songs are a joke - do a solo gig or hire someone who can do them justice.
Kris: Tell your nephew to make a claim against the marketers of the CD. Joey's participation was soley as a paid musician with session studio musicians that backed him up. He had no control or input in the marketing or distribution of these re-recordings. Joey always identifies Pete's and Tom's songs as as evidenced by the audience reaction in all the videos of Joey's concerts posted on YouTube, enjoyed inmensely by all.
Molland was PAID!? Oh, you confirm this! Okay, so he knew ten songs were going to be put out by a record company with his voice on all the vocals. HMMMMMMMMM... What else would it come out as except Badfinger like all other K-TEL releases since the 60s. Of course they'd be marketed deceptively. Money, money, money - OHHHH, Joey Molland. Did the others get a say on him doing this?
How? Ruined the RAdio Records deal. Cancelled Tom's gigs so he couldn't make a living doing what he loved. Argued vehemently to get ASCAP money from Tom's songwriting including a huge blow-out the night Tom killed himself. ASCAP is almost NEVER is shared by any writers with others. And Joey trashed Tom in Joey's "approved" crappy documentary in the bonus interview. Read the book on Badfinger.
the song is a demo by tommy and rod roach called "over you". if you search tom evans and rod roach you will see a link where you can listen to the whole song.
What was the name of the weird guy Tom and Mike performed on TV with. The look on Mike's face is priceless. It says it all.
