yeah, I've seen this kind of stuff done before in other space shooter playthroughs, it was done in super slow motion and then sped up post-production style to match the standard gameplay speed. You'll notice that in spots where there should be system-related slowdown, it really isn't as bad as it should be. Really, it just take the fun out of watching a playthrough of [anything].

I think what happened here is that the guy is using an emulator, but he slowed the speed of the game while playing it. then he sped up the video afterwards.

Another one of my first games on the SNES. Aside from the frequent slowdown, it was a good game with great tunes. Konami got pretty good at figuring out the SNES and some of their best games had barely any slowdown at all (TMNT, Axelay, Contra 3).

I used to play this game and tap the fast forward on my emulator through the first three stages.

Once you're fully powered up with the rotating option, you can sit in one spot and never die unless you hit a wall

I'll agree he's cheating. Watch how fast the ship jumps around in the underground stage when he's "digging"... Impossible on an SNES pad. So he's using an emulator to slow the game down and playing it in slow motion. Wow, not so amazing now eh?
