Revan was simply a military Genius, and yes, he was extremely strong but his force abilities absolutely did not match up to the Lord of Hunger. Nihilus' reign was only more shortlived because of the Exile's cop-out "force absorbing" countering her losing her bond to the force, creating negative energy that weakened Nihilus, and Visas' sacrifice. And even then they still almost lost.
actually nihilus's strength came not from the force but because he was a veritable black hole in the force, if my research is right, he actually had little Jedi training. only the massacre of malachore did he become what he was and got a sort of connection to the force, though he began needing to feed off of the raw force of others to remain intact. and revan was more then a military genius, he was extremly strong in the force, as well as his blade was superb
