  • I've learned 2 things from this video.

1-Led Zeppelin is the best band ever.

    2- Don't get bonzo mad....

  • I personally cant believe that bonzo was a human being, for real, he is still the best, this song is incredible in the album itslef. Live? you be the judge

    Bonzo allways

  • in the led guitar:jimmy

in the bass : trevor bolder

    in the drums: bonzo

in the vocals :rita lee (mutantes)

  • Hail , Hail Rock N Roll!!!

  • How to know if you are listening to a generic classic rock song: The word baby is used 100 times.

  • @Gmancrap When i sing zep songs and improvise when i walk to school i add alot of babys lol. Guess this classic rock has its effect on me lol.

  • Lol

  • 1 of the best drum beat solos i've ever sat & listened too!

  • This version is rawer than the overdubbed version on "Coda" - there the full guitar is overdubbed - raw, pure, full of energy!

  • I need to find a god**** time machine...I need to go back to when music was awesome & relevant.

    griffybox 1 second ago

  • spelled groove wrong...

  • Simple non bashing question, what's the date and year of this performance @ the Royal Albert Hall?

  • 1970

  • @destruya i believe it was the 9th of January, 1970 :)

  • A thread that talks about lead bass and not a word about John Entwistle? Predates Zep, Rush, Queen, or Black Sabbath. The Who were basically an intertwining of lead vocals, lead drums, and lead bass with townshend timekeeping on rythm guitar for many, many songs. Practically invented lead bass as not a novelty but full time. I'm sure lead bass pre-dates even entwistle, but the man perfected it.

  • GREATEST FUCKING BAND EVER TO WALK AMONGST US MERE MORTALS.

  • oh yeah, no dislikes

  • they were so sick live

  • they were so sick live

  • This is by far my favorite song of all time. Its short sweet and to the point "We're Gonna Grove" the title says it all. and it also contains my favorite lyric of all time;

See my baby coming down the track

bet you my baby is coming back

someday she get beck to me

    we gonna raise a family

  • no emoticon could ever express the O face i had as i watched this

  • i love how bonzo just starts smacking the crap out of the drums the moment he steps on stage, RIP

  • Yeah,I'm fucking riveted watching Bonzo and Page in this video. Pure vodoo...absolutely amazing. As popular as alot of bands are(including all the greats),few had the sheer talent and alchemy of Led Zeppelin.

  • and God said , let there be music , and there was Led Zeppelin...

  • @DaRkNess1400 Dude you just just made my whole day with that comment LMFAO it was so funny it had me rollin, God bless an long live Led Zeppelin!

  • @DaRkNess1400 and it was good

  • @DaRkNess1400 i think they are called led zeppelin because they sank down from heaven to blow peoples minds

  • plants voice is so crisp here

it's hard to put into words how overwhelmingly good this is

  • man do i wish i could seen these guys in concert!

  • In your face !!!

  • amazing wideo

  • 0:22 very smooth, Bonzo. xD concert hasn't even started and he's already dropped a stick.

  • I searched specifically for this video and couldn't find it. Now I realize because the video's called We're Gonna Grove. One little typo can fuck a guy up.

  • John Paul Jones is underrated as a bass player..

  • @Scuba0925 i agree it aint fair on him he created one of the best basslines in history FACT

  • @Scuba0925 Also an underrated organist.

  • @Scuba0925 He's AMAZING, don't get me wrong, but being a bassist. myself, he's not underated at all. Every bassist I talk to loves him.

  • @Martiluk1 What do you and your mates think of the legendary John Deacon from Queen, another great bassist from another great band ( esp live 70s) check out if you havent already ogre battle and liar live hammersmith. Liar live probably one of the first band bass solos ever, back when bass was considerd just a background instrument. John Deacon was one of the first that brought the bass from the shadows to the spotlight and made it a lead instrument.

  • @fras888 cant forget about john entwistle.... just listen to my generation.

    my opinion hes the best

  • i love how plant gets up there all calm like

"good evening" and then they make the most mind blowing performance then...their just like

    so yea

  • besides cigarettes fools, alcohol <a drug according to ANY and EVERY med. doctor is the most dangerous of drugs.

  • This is simply amazing!!! Great post thnaks!

  • Thanx to all who participated in this discussion! I'm much more aware now, and that just makes Zeppelin's performances (in the late 60's through to like 74 or 75, because they're my personal favs) all the more incredible!

  • Yeah Bonzo wasn't a druggie. He was a drunk. But no doubt he was the best rock drummer ever to live.

  • jones always held shit down...!

  • @kennykins420 well yea, at the moment, before I researched some things! But not J.P.J right? I mean from books I've read he didn't partake in many "things" the group did did he? Plus you misspelled definetly. Not to be a douche or anything.

  • @blloop Not to be a douche or anything....but you incorrectly spelled "definitely". If you are going to be the grammar police for YouTube comment forums, your own posts might be an excellent place to start.

  • jimmy page was addicted to heroin, he quit though in the 70's

  • @keithwarf no he got hooked on it in the 80's

  • @keithwarf yea thats why after 75 they turned into poop. before 75 he wasent doin herion though. in this video I can imagine some whiskey and a couple of joints. then he moved onto coke around 73 and then herion.

  • Naw

  • Maw Kashmir0109 I know for a fact that Jimmy never did drugs. Not too sure about the others though, although I highly doubt that *may he rest in peace* Bonzo put the bottle down to pick up a joint. And Jonesy was a family man and didn't partake in much. But Plant, Shit, you can only imagine. Best fucking band. Period.

  • @blloop are you dumb?? they definatly did SO many drugs

  • @blloop Jimmy did heroine later in their career, I can tell you that

  • 2:25 - "everybody needs everybody" hahah, wtf plant?

  • fuck you. thumbs down

  • oh, he's in led zeppelin so he can never be wrong and everything he sings is pure lyrical gold, is it?

  • From what I've seen on video, this was one of the best Led Zeppelin's show ever. \m/

  • How brilliant they were...before they got all self-indulgent. They were supreme when they kept everything tight.

  • the gods just entered the stage... to rock the fuck out of the lucky audience

  • beast drums: i love to play this song!

  • We're gonna grove!!! LOL

thats one of the best typos ive ever seen

  • @soccerplayingdrummer china groove by the dobie brothers??

  • amazing vocals by plant

  • damn, it´s been 40 years today (1-9-1970), need to have a beer or two, then :)

and besides, wish you a sincere happy birthday, Jimmy! Life´s just about to start at the age of 66 ;)

    peace

  • i love the dvd ..

you can nearly watch it 24/7 :D

great song, great band, great individuums

  • Wooooooooow

    Bonham¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

    ♪♪♪♪ ♫♫♫♫♫

  • Without a doubt the four best musicians to ever stand on a stage together. At this point in their career they were just overwhelming. Just listen to Plant's voice or Bonzo killing the drums Jimmy shuffling and just tearing it up, and Jonesy holding it all together. Perfect, thanks for posting.

  • true

  • @brebat I agree completely. I consider this to be golden era Led Zeppelin. A lot of good stuff came out after this. But this, in my opinion, is the best they ever got. Without Black Dog, Rock and Roll, Stairway, or Kashmir, they were still the best band of their day. However, live, The Who seamed to have been better. Or at least I like them better.

  • @brebat I'm a bigger Zep fan than Rush, but what about them?

  • man, i just LOVE to go home after school and play drums to stuff like this! ITS SO FUN im just beatin the crap out of my drum kit. its feels so good! :D

  • dude i love to do the same thing just with guitar and turning it at full volume and feeling the floor of my room shake because of the base when i hit the low E string!!

  • Yea man, thats exactly what i do! This is definitely tha best music to play to.

  • Bonham!!!!!

  • terrible what?

  • na muy groso tocaron estos pendejos la verdad unos capos viejo chau puton

  • What;s terrible?! u obviously have no taste in music. go listen to the j brothers

  • LoL! 0:22 Bonzo the first time he played the drums live in Royal Albert Hall, he accidentally flipped a stick away! Love that! Not everyone is perfect! But still it's Bonzo, the greatest!

It's not clear in this video, but on the DVD, hell yeah!

  • dont for get about bonzo on them drums

  • lawdy mama yeah!

  • I always loved that fact that Zeppelin didn't have an overblown intro for their concerts. All they had to do is walk on stage and the crowd would get excited.

  • I think Robert is the king especially in the 1970s when he could realy sing

  • I think JIMMY IS THE KING too. Mr. Plant is the real boss and bruce springsteen just sucks.

  • springsteen really is a douche haha

  • YEAH WE'RE GOING TO GROVE

  • I will say again man....JIMMY IS THE KING

  • It's called We're gonna groove.

  • thx for the update

  • @xxmusicheadxx i think he said that because "groove" is misspelled in the title

  • @xxmusicheadxx dickhead
