The people that classify themselves as emo are annoying. Saying you're emo means you WANT to be emo and you WANT people to classify you as emo. When you want to be the stereotypical emo you view the world in a negative light and that's why you think your life "sucks". I went through that "emo" stage in middle school but I grew up. There is this girl that has multiple piercing on her face, yet she complains that her mom doesn't do anything for her? Obviously her mom allowed her to get those piercings since she is underage. emo=emotional. being emo is difficult because people classify emo and add stereotypes to it. not all emo's cut themselves. most true emo are in fact strongly connected to one or more of their emotions. something that you may just shrug off may insult and or made an emo mad sad or any other of the emotions. the type of emo that cuts themselves in my opinion are the ones who are connected to their anger or sadness. but not all emos do this. i know because i am emo.

Why does everyone call that style of this "being Emo" or "Emoness"? It's just the clothes that people choose to put on their body in the morning. It says absolutely nothing about their emotional state or psychological mindset. Just because someone likes dark clothing doesn't mean they're "Emo". It means it's someone who's extremely sad about something, like themselves, a loss of a family member, a friend who walk out on them, someone who betrayed them, ect. It's like depression. They scream to the world for HELP. Not to just share their problems. And yes, they do HAVE to scream out for help to the world because they could possibly kill themselves.
