Fact about Gear 2 lag: If you are holding a BoomShield while it is lagging, you better switch to your Gnasher, Smoke Grenade, or Snub pistol. Why? Because if you switch to your Lancer, the game will read that you basically chainsawed/meleed yourself and you turn into gibs. This also works with Torque Bow as well.

So instead, of everyone lagging because of one person, almost no one should lag because you connect to a dedicated server nearest you. The only reason should you lag is if you have the crappy connection.

Yo I have a similar problem. Not only does it take me 10-15 minutes to find a match but I've noticed that whenever I DO NOT get host, I seriously lag. I was wondering if this was a router/modem problem or if it's that EVERY SINGLE match I've been in (in Halo 3, CoD, GoW1) whoever does get host is lagging badly, which I highly doubt. Could someone help? The lag I get when I am not host is very similar to this guy's.

If you get the same problem in every match you play even on games that aren't Gears 2 then it might be your modem. Check to see if your XBL is getting blocked by a firewall. Or if it is strict or moderate on your XBox 360.

what else sucks about GOW2 is the gameplay compared to GOW1. In GOW2 i only ever get 2-pieced or chain-sawed FUN!

GOW1 may have HOST advantage and wall bouncing but it was more fun than being B buttoned then shot! And u can win on GOW1 even u have a worse connection than some one your playing but GOW2 whoever has a better connection is gonna beat cos the bullets are more accurate i have found cos u see yr enemy for where they are in the split seconds yr fighting for.

Definitely bad lag. I have played 800 online multiplayer matches and only about 10 had this much lag. There is really nothing Epic can do about it except to make the dedicated servers alot more better than what they are now--Good Luck. The real problem is lag switching, where people are purposefully causing lag to win. There is a way for Epic and Microsoft to catch these people. I dont think they are doing it.

Yeah, this is a case of extremely bad lag, but you know what? If this was a rare thing, it would be perfectly acceptable. Probably 45 games out of 50 lag to one degree or another...why?! Go play Halo 3 online, it plays buttery smooth 99% of the time. This games online setup is garbage, even after Epic promised they were fixing this crap! I will not buy Gears 3 until I read a review that confirms those idiots over at Epic finally set up dedicated servers for Gears multiplayer.
