I think that this argument is contingent on three things: First, that you believe in the existence of the Christian god, second that you believe that the Christian god has taken a stance on this matter and finally that the bible is the manifestation of his will on Earth.

I grew up in the Catholic church, received a first-rate education from Catholic schools (7th grade to first two masters programs), and learned much about service to others. That was 25 years ago. So my question is what kind of Christianity is this that has become such a platform for degradation? My teachers, many of them ordained, didn't stoop to name calling and self-righteousness to seem superior to others. But maybe that's just because they weren't ignorant.

Marriage has never been a fixed, stable entity: it has always evolved (look in the Bible, for once, and you'll see stories of incest and polygamy in there), and wasn't even a religious institution to begin with. The REAL question is: WHY should we ban gay marriage, at the level of the state? There is always a big silence after this question is asked, OR the answer is religious in nature, which is not a valid answer in a lay society.

I think that this argument is contingent on three things: First, that you believe in the existence of the Christian god, second that you believe that the Christian god has taken a stance on this matter and finally that the bible is the manifestation of his will on Earth.
If one doesn't believe in your god, this falls apart. If one of these things is lacking, the entire argument collapses. I do not believe in god and therefore your argument needs to be based on facts, not intuition.

@raultv, if anyone ever tells you to your face that being gay is a choice, then ask them to prove it: if it’s a choice, then THEY should be able to choose it. Challenge them to do so, on the spot. They have to immediately, by merely willing to do so, STOP being attracted to the OPPOSITE gender, and START being attracted to the SAME gender.
