  • Am I the only woman who has woodworking scrapers in her dreams? After helping you edit this last batch, I know more than I ever thought I would about scraper planes, hooks, recycled japanese saw scrapers, etc...

  • I have a video coming soon with a diagram. But what is happening is the burnishing tool is actually moving metal over the edge into a curved burr. This is what cuts. It is the formed edge being drug over the workpiece that is cutting. Some tool steel is too hard to form a hook in. The steel is not movable. That is why flexible steel like putty knives and old saw blades make such good low cost scrapers.

  • Can you talk more about the Hook . What is it"s job ? I just kept my scrapers sharp.

  • Good Videos. I painted houses for 15 years and used scrapers alot , But Doing wood working at home I didnt think to scrape extra glue before sanding. Makes sanding alot faster. Thanks Gary
