Thanks, their bassist is really good, but not really much of an influence. To be honest I'm not much into slap bass, but I thought I should learn how to do it and came up with this little groove in the process. Thank you for the complement though.
On the backside of the headstock is a number - here the info from the warwick site:
"The layout of the number informs one about the month and the year the instrument was built. The letter at the beginning of the serial number stands for the month; the last two numbers stand for the year in which it was manufactured. The letter A=January, B=February, C=March, D=April, [...} . An instrument with the number D-099376-03 was built in April 2003."
Nope this is a thumb, I got it for the corvette price because it was used. I almost bought a corvette that I had had my eye on for a while, but when I went to the store to buy it they had just gotten in this used thumb that was in great condition and it was actually about $100 cheaper then the new corvettes, so I jumped on it.
I enjoyed your playing. Great fill, but your hands look very tense. I used to press very hard and it caused alot of problems in my hands. Let your amp give you the volume you need, so you don't have to play so hard and can relax more. It will help avoid things like carpal tunnel in the future. Great job and keep it up.
Thanks, glad you like it. Yeah I'm still kind of new to slapping so it's still a little awkward for my hands. I should post some new videos though, I've gotten more comfortable with it.
if i want to play a metal core type of bass how do i set it up? mroe on bass or treble or mid? and my amp has compression and frequency lol and i dotn know thsoe stuffs how to set it up because if its bad setup it sounds distorted even its 400watts amp
I'm not sure, I don't really ever play that kind of music, but you'd probably want some kind of distortion. The treble and mid are gonna bring out all the slaps and pops and the melody the low is gonna make it more booming but if you go to high with the low it will kind of wash your sound out.
The way I like to set up an amp is turn all the nobs to the middle, then get your gain and volume to a good level and then adjust the high, mid, and low one at a time. If your in a band then do this with your guitarist, otherwise you might get it where you like it, but it just doesn't mesh well with the guitar.
btw heres my set: Ibanez Ergodyne 450 and a Roland D-Bass 210 i dont knwo how to set it up to a metal core type and funky type can u help me plxx thx :D
As far as the amp set up I'm not really familiar with that amp but I usualy like to set mine up with the bass just below half the mid high and the mid low a little past half and the high at about 3/4, then it's nice to have some kind of a treble boost pedel for funk. But you just got to kind of play with the levels yourself to get the sound you like.
sup dude kewl vid T___T i envy you how do u do those slaps and pops so fast can u give me a website for lessons or a book or a guide btw its me the bassist of skylark :D ^_____^
