Well, first off I wish the video was not at night, but it is a good-looking car given the age. But whats up with the battery, the doors were open, but the interior lights was not on. But from what I could see, you would only need to paint the quarter panels in the front and back. But other than that she is a beauty. I own a 78 coupe deville with the 425.

I realize I'm late on the response, however the 4100 engine in the Coupe Deville is garbage. Also, when looking at older classics, always ask and make sure the frame hasn't been cut for hydraulics in the past... And something I always do, is to make sure a mechanic gives it a pre-buy inspection (and a body man, with classics).

And i am not the one that designed this front Grile....It is GM/Cadillac that said "It was inspired by the Rolls Royce Grille" and it is a fact thaty it was only used TWICE in all of Cadillac history. I myself never said that it was Special or that it looked just like a Rolls royce Grill. But i can sure see how THEY say it is a result of being inspired by rolls royce. What ever the case may be...it sure looks nice. -BOGAR!

That is the perfect set up 4 barrel 6 liter engine they last a lifetime. my gpaw has the exact same car and its got well over 200,000 miles. probabley even more since last time i checked. they got some gitty up to for low comp era engines!

Awesome car! My dream car! I just never understood why they stopped using so much chrome on cars! It looked better with more! Now they use that cheap ass Matte Black plastic for everything! Goddamnit! Even my father's 09 silverado 3500HD which is a $84000 truck had that black shit on it! (we changed it to chrome though) and also why did they ever stop using metal for parts like door handles and bumpers?

I've been watching your videos for some time now. I've seen them all but this is my first comment. I'd keep what you have unless this car is one hell of a good deal. This car is silver or gray metallic by the looks of it. You will have a hard time paint matching the panels that it needs painted unless you paint the entire car over and that is extremely expensive these days.

Looks pretty good. Does that 368 have the thing where the cylinders shut off to save gas? If so they had some problems with the computer screwing up but you can disconnect it and then it just runs like a regular big block.

I been dealing this way wit people since 1995, i was still a teen at that time. And the bumper fillers were replaced thats why they are different in color. 80's cars were notorious for that.-BOGAR!

well you don't have to take out the windows when ya paint, but its really best, ya never know whats lurking under there! rust can start from just some water sitting, we pulled all the glass on my truck, and found some rust starting, we sand blasted it out, and then sealed it with epoxy primer, then some gray filler primer like the rest of the truck, then the Colorado red and the Performance white on the back window went on the window edges as well as the truck, thus rust should be no issue! :)
