Yeah, that's what happens when the insurance company gives you money for your stolen vehicle, Its like you sold it to them, you no longer own it. So when they recover the vehicle can do whatever they want with it.
I have a 66 Bus. Now I understand that it sucks someone stole her Bus. It happens alot. The guy in AZ might not of known it was stolen and could of bought it with just a bill of sale. He sold it to someone in the Netherlands and when you do that overseas they check the history and that's when they discovered it was stolen back in the 70s. I feel bad for all parties involved. This is a leason to buyers.. BEWARE! Make sure you buy a classic car esp. a VW Bus that has a title.
