his mouth is a piano ! the rhythm he speaks is the same style like he plays , each word is spoken in a funny jazz harmony ! just lovely , there is no one else like him !!!!
The genius of Errol Garner.....I believe music, jazz & the blues specifically are paths to the soul. The great musicians connect to something while playing, something which cannot be described by the written or spoken word. It elevates the soul beyond just being in the moment. Philosophy was never my strong suit, but there it is....
now i know why he is always so happy on stage! because he "talked" to the people in a very honest way. totally dedicated tomusic and never to HIMSELV. thats the difference between a real great great musician and a person who THINKS that he is musician! thank you for confirming me MY way too. well see us in heaven .. hopefully...
it funny cos he says exactly the sorts of things i would of expected him to, true genius stuff amazing. all the greats say the same kind of things.. to play from feeling
never heard him in an interview before, never even heard him speak.... the greatest improvisor i've ever heard, a pure genius.... rip mr garner... thx for posting
How beautiful you are Erroll, what a wonderful interview, we love you, and your piano playing, it goes beyond "romance", we'll skip the romance and the dates just for your piano playing, remarkable! incredible!
Thank you SO much for posting this!! Erroll was a warm and very talented/gifted man but still very down to earth. I felt as if I was sitting in my living room talking to a dear friend-he was one of the greatest jazz pianist EVER!! :-)
This is so great - hearing Erroll talk about his music. When you listen to Art or Oscar the playing is fantastic but it's like getting a music lesson. Listening to Erroll just makes you indescribeably happy. In his way, he was the greatest
